Great standard pub fair cooked well at a reasonable price, good selection of local beers, friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. Very much recommended.

We went for an evening meal.on the first night of our holiday, we hadn't booked yet they managed to squeeze us in for which, as hungry travellers, we were most grateful

Writing this review after a fantastic family meal tonight. I messaged last night via Facebook to see if we could get a table tonight but they were full. There aren't many other places to eat in St Minver so obviously I was a bit gutted and we had friends joining us that we haven't seen in months. Got a message this morning from Lindsay saying that she had juggled things about and had found us the table for 10 we had requested. I informed Lindsay that we had a few allergies in our party and honestly she could not have been more accommodating even to the point that she went out and bought dairy free ice cream and fruit pastil ice lollies for the 2 kids with dairy allergies. When we arrived the staff were just fantastic, the food was GORGEOUS, fresh home cooked food (thanks Babs) the curries were delicious! Also highly recommend the puddings, again homemade and massive portions. If I could have given the guys here 100 stars on this review I would have done. Thanks for a wonderful evening and all the effort you went to for us

We booked a table for an evening meal and despite being a little late we were accommodated with friendly faces. There were Covid safety measures around and tables had space between them. We ordered at the bar, opened a tab and after a 30 min wait we had delicious food delivered at reasonable prices. The kids had dessert and we left a family of happy bunnies. Great little place, heartily recommend and will be visiting again.

This pub is in the village in which we were staying, St. Minver. We ate here on the Tuesday and enjoyed our meal (albeit, fast food), plus the welcoming hospitality, even though the landlord was bemoaning the fact that he wasn’t busy due to the England game. We were told that that was why we were able to have a table to dine at. Deciding to eat there again, we booked a table a table for the following Thursday.
The evening before, we went in for a drink. The landlord regaled us with stories of his catering years and cooking for three prime ministers. He also introduced us to his grandson ~ a pilot in the navy.
I noticed a chalk board with desserts on it and commented that I hoped they would be available on the morrow? The reply was ‘yes, but they’re not homemade; they’re bought in.’
Thursday’s meal was a complete disappointment, sadly. Not only were we plonked right next to the toilets, but the meal was also dire! The grandson greeted us on arrival and pointed us in the direction of our table. All we could see was a pool table and I joked that we would try not to spill anything on it!
We found our table, only to discover that it was right next to the toilets. When the grandson came over to take our order, we asked if we could be moved, please? His response was that they were very busy, but he would ask. I replied how we had pre~booked!

Meanwhile, the landlord appeared and engaged himself in conversation with a party of local property owners, one of whom commented, ‘Thank you for fitting us in at such short notice.’ To which the landlord replied, ‘No problem. It’s a pleasure to see you.’ Did the sycophant give away our table and decide to plonk us right next to the toilet!?!?

We weren’t moved and had to endure the comings and going’s of ten people using the toilet!
As for the food; hubby’s salmon was under cooked and his salad garnish consisted of tomatoes. My cod was basically something one can buy in the frozen section of a supermarket! Thin and limp.

Dessert suddenly lost its appeal. We just wanted to go, having eaten only half of our poor excuse of a meal, we just did not feel welcomed, not valued as customers.

On leaving, we did comment that we were disappointed with the whole experience. The landlord’s response……. Wait for it…. Even Basil Fawlty wouldn’t have had the audacity to say this….. ‘Well, can I just say, you didn’t look happy when you came in. I even mentioned it to my colleague.’
What a hoot; he wasn’t even there when we arrived!

There was no point in debating that issue ~ it is always better to vote with one’s feet.

Recently stayed close by and visited most evenings. We’d prebooked a table for food in a dog friendly area of the pub for the Saturday evening and we weren’t disappointed. Service was good, staff are incredibly friendly and our dog was made so welcome. Food was good value and all meals were good. Will definitely visit again when next in the area. Great little pub. It’s a must if you’re staying locally.

Fabulous locals pub. No nonsense down to earth. Good pub menu at incredible prices. Landlord very welcoming, managed to fit my friend and i in for dinner a few nights on the trot. Dogs welcome. Friendly locals. landlord said rooms to let are only 50 pounds in November so will try a weekend stay! Bad news is that its up for sale so guessing it will be turned in to an upmarket foodie destination with new owners unfortunately!

We initially had some trouble booking a table at the restaurant and found that the easiest way was to contact them via Facebook and we had a response within an hour. It was my wife's Birthday and when we arrived and gave our details the staff immediately wished her a Happy Birthday. We both had the Crispy Duckling in orange sauce with potatoes and veg which was very nice. Good service and very Covid aware with single use menus, gel etc. All tables were booked so I would advise booking in advance if possible. I had read a review that said the locals weren't welcoming however we didn't find that to be the case at all. The pub is a short walk from the St. Minver holiday park and easy to find.

My wife and I booked an evening meal at this establishment during our stay at the St. Minver Holiday Park which is a five minute walk away from the site.

The Inn is a lovely place with friendly staff, the food was well cooked and reasonably priced. We would certainly return here if we were in St. Minver again..

We stayed at the local St Minver holiday park back in May; a caravan owner on the site recommend the Fourways inn but unfortunately they didn't have a table available on the dates we were there.
Fast forward a few months, we decided to travel from Exeter to Camel Creek adventure park for the day and also decided to eat at the Fourways inn before returning back home.
We booked a table via email the week before travelling. As we had stayed in the area only a few months before I knew how to get to St Minver village, plenty of parking available by the cricket club opposite the inn.
Our table was by the main door, but was a warm day so temperature was not a problem.
Varied menu, plenty to chose from. I noticed the menu is listed with the expensive at the top going down to the cheapest at the bottom.
I chose the ribs - they were the best ribs that I have ever eaten. Lovely chips as well, superb meal. My daughters both had chicken nuggets, chips and beans and both enjoyed their meals. My wife also enjoyed her scampi meal. Good size portions, everything nice and hot. Both me and my wife enjoyed our hot desserts after.

My only feedback would be to provide a couple more dessert options in the future to children; ours both had ice cream but perhaps doing a half brownie or similar could be something to explore.

All the staff were really friendly, lovely atmosphere and both the inn and toilets were spotless. Would love for this to be my local! Will no doubt visit again when in the area next (note to self - try the roasted duck next!)

My parents stay at fourways regularly over last 20+ years. We have visited on.the odd occasion...the pub is in idyllic hamlet with only a handful of houses close by. Rock and polzeath are a close drive with other popular placed such as padstow, port issac, Boscastle all within close proximity. We stayed as a couple and small dog in room 7 which is s double plus single. Plenty storage. Lovely view of sunrise in morning. Spotlessly clean bathroom with shower. Lyndsey, Jamie and Joe make fab hosts in the pub. Live music on Fridays and good pub grub. Had a perfect week. Excellent value for money
