Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

This is a wonderful, stylish, comfortable B&B with outstanding sea views and great walking from the doorstep. We stayed in the amazing lighthouse room with a view of Lizard Lighthouse and different sea views from the windows on 2 different walks. The bathroom and shower were really good, and there are double power points on both sides of the double bed for phone chargers etc. Quality tea and coffee were provided, and there is a small, silent fridge with a supply of fresh milk. For anyone wanting to watch TV there is a good size smart TV in the room Breakfast is prepared from mainly local ingredients to individual guest requirements and Geoff and Sue are wonderful hosts.

Excellent hosts. Very quick to respond to any requests, showed an interest in what we got up to over the weekend, and provided suggestions on places to go. The best b&b that I've stayed at. Would definitely recommend to others.

What can I say? We did a whole roadtrip through England and the Penmenner House was by far our favourite. We never spent so much time in the room of a B&B, even though there is so much to discover nearby. A beautiful house with attention to detail, the room was cosy and clean with views of the sea and the fields with sheep and cows. Susan and Geoff were super friendly at all times and the breakfast was just excellent - everything you want in a very stylish room to beautiful classical music. A 2 minute walk to the sea and the gorgeous coastal path and 10 minutes to the southernmost point of England where you can watch seals. We will definitely be back!

The first thing that struck my wife and myself at Penmenner House was the light in the big airy Lighthouse Room. It was such a cheerful introduction to this brilliant B & B that would rival any quality hotel. The decor of the whole property, including the modern and very comfortable four-poster bed in our room, was tasteful, with exquisite little details indicating the thought which must have gone into every aspect of the place. It was spotlessly clean with beautiful views over the tip of the Lizard out to sea and a lovely, well appointed garden for guests to enjoy. There was a good-sized car park for several cars and as the property was at the end of the road, peace was guaranteed - even if the lighthouse on the cliffs sounded its warning on misty days. The welcome by Jeff and Susanna was genuinely warm and friendly and they devoted a great deal of time to their guests. Breakfast in the airy dining room was excellent, with plenty of variety, and we left on our travels each day well satisfied. We cannot fault this brilliant property in any way and it was a stark contrast to many of the grotty hotels we have stayed in over the years. It's situation is ideal for a quiet, restful break or holiday and we recommend it one hundred percent! Elizabeth and David

Penmenner House has been a highlight of this trip. It's a very special place. The location is stunning. Our room, the Lighthouse Room, was breathtaking, with two large windows overlooking the coast. Every detail of the place has been thoughtfully considered. Breakfasts were perfection. But the best part is the couple who own and care for Penmenner House. Susannah and Geoff were warm, welcoming, attentive to our every need, and a delight to chat with. Our experience in this charming B&B simply could not have been better.

Having spent the last few days at Penmenner House would say it rates as one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Geoff and Susannah were the most welcoming hosts, and nothing was too much trouble. The room was fabulous and had everything you would ever need and that is without mentioning the fabulous views. The decor was elegant, befitting the house, everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfasts were wonderful. The house and gardens are beautiful and there is a lovely lounge well supplied with books and games for the guests to use. Wish we had found Penmenner sooner and we will be back!

I stayed for one night at Penmenner House whilst walking the coast path. It's difficult to articulate how perfect my stay was, but from the stunning sea view room, with luxurious en-suite as well as free standing bath, to the friendly hosts, exquisite, light, relaxing interior design and fabulous breakfast, my stay was indeed perfect. I didn't want to leave, and I shall be back! A haven of peace, luxury, and style.
