Staff seemed friendly & welcoming, although both she & a young chap perhaps her Son both had awful coughs which worried us due to fear of either having Covid again ! Perhaps hold mouth when coughing! Setting is lovely , not sure about the fake candles or fake coal fire tho, Most importantly the food wasn't upto much am afraid! I had whitebait & a cheese board although tasty ntherr wasnt enough crackers for the amount of cheese & they'd ran out of grapes , surely this should be explained at the time of ordering? Or perhaps substituting grapes for sliced apple. My wife had soup of the day which she throughly enjoyed & home made fish pie which she said was just about ok but for £16 should be exceptional! £58 food quality simply wasnt upto expectations.

The New Inn at Veryan has one of the best atmospheres, with unique but traditional decor and a real classic British Pub feel. As well as ensuring the atmosphere is calming, the small details such as parts from an old horse and cart add to the charm of this pub. The food is of excellent value, and they give you the option to choose from 2 different portion sizes, which I think is very good. The menu has something for everyone, ranging from beef or vegetarian chilli con carne, to classic ham, egg and chips. The service is exceptional, with very friendly staff who clearly enjoy their job. When there was a small delay with our food, the person serving us recognised the issue and apologised, but even so, the wait was only about 40 minutes from our order to our main. Typically, the wait would be about 20 minutes, which is extremely good. We have visited this pub many times and would not hesitate to go back again. …

Has so much potential. Lovely little pub in the heart of Beautiful Veryan village. Food not great stick to the fish and chip or nachos. Everything else is hit and miss . Team are trying their best , friendly but struggle when it’s get busy. Owners don’t seem to care and never there . Really shame as the location of brilliant and most of the staff care.

Great place to stay! We had large room with ensuite, the food was wonderful and plentiful, the staff very welcoming and friendly. On our last day we had (prev booked 2 days in advance) a St Mawes taxi which didn't turn up and staff member with black mini took us to St Mawes! A big thank you for helping us, being so genuinely friendly.

Friendly service from the bar when we called in for lunch last week. Very pretty village, relaxing to sit out side. Genuine pub with good home made options including a marmalade and beer bread sponge. Excellent value for money and a nice art gallery a couple of minutes away to visit.

Portions were poor, since when did a side salad only mean a sprinkling of Rocket? My tuna baguette was £9 and came with more mayonnaise than tuna!!!! This pub could be lovely, but it seems they have a captive market of one-time visitors, so they don't need to provide value for money. We walked to the Melinsey Mill afterwards and the cream tea was devine! The idyllic setting reminded me what Cornwall is really about! Go here for lunch instead!!!!!

Good home made food - beautiful fresh fish - beer battered fish and chips very good - we also had sea bass which was perfectly cooked. I liked the chunky chips although wife found them a bit greasy. Decent beer selection. Would recommend - although you need to book!

The New Inn were so welcoming and accommodating for our needs. Fabulous homemade food, catered for our dog and one of our group who had a nut allergy. Would highly recommend this pub for a meal or just to sit on the seating area outside with a drink taking in the ambiance around this beautiful village

Despite booking at the last minute, we returned to find the same friendly atmosphere and great service/food. Menu is varied with an emphasis on home cooking and local produce. Highly recommend and will be coming back next year for sure.
