Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

this is the best hotel ever, lovely staff, delicious food, wonderful location but very sadly will not reuturn after 27 years because the stubborn attitude to small well behaved dogs is the same as if they were granny munching pit ponies and my small well behaved dog is charged £22 per day for being allowed only in the bedroom or my car.albeit given her supper (and a breakfast sausage!) and many fellow residents were qgreeing with me. So goodbye lovely Nare `hotel - the owners granny would never have allowed this.

The Nare sits in the most amazing setting with spectacular views across Carne Beach to Nare Head in one direction, and across to Portscatho and beyond in the other. These are beautiful whatever the weather. The whole team should be commended for their part in making a stay here so special. The atmosphere created is one of refined luxury. Everything from check in, the bedrooms, the afternoon tea, the public rooms, the pre dinner drinks, the dining room service, and not least the food, are all of the highest standards and quality. No fault could be levied at any aspect of the stay. We also used the indoor pool and spa pool, and on another day the outdoor hot tub….this was absolutely amazing, not least given its position overlooking the beach and Nare Head….a real luxurious treat on a freezing cold, bright, early March afternoon. In summary we could not speak more highly of this hotel and the truly special luxurious experience it delivers.

The Nare certainly has a timeless charm about it, we visited for the Escape Day spa package which included a three course lunch, use of the spa facilities and an hour long treatment. The cost was £150 each. It was the start February so we expected the hotel to be fairly quiet, what we didn’t expect was to have the whole place to ourselves. Usually this might be a bonus but it added a type of eerie feeling to the day. The front of house and waiting staff were superb, the lunch was good and the tiny lift down to the pool could be classed as quirky. Unfortunately the steam room was out of action, which I wasn’t told about (even the day before when I called to confirm the reservation), we knew the outside pool was closed for the off season, the sauna was small but functional and the small pool and whirlpool were fine. There were no loungers inside, just a few chairs. The highlight of the facilities was the hot tub overlooking Carne beach, only downside was the temperature- more of a warm tub. The treatment room is the other side of the hotel, and you’re not to wear robes through the hotel so there is a need to time the day so your not going back and forth. The massage was good, the ear pulling was something new, and there was a big focus on the feet. There was no discussion of preferred pressure or the type of massage before it commenced. Overall, an interesting experience with a price tag that is high for what’s on offer ~ especially if comparing to other spa day packages in Cornwall.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay in this beautiful hotel. With stunning views, superb food and attentive, friendly staff we wanted for nothing. Put this together with the calm, friendly, traditional surrounding and we had no option but to relax and enjoy.

One of the best hotel spa hotels we have had the pleasure of staying at, great food, service together with friendly attentive staff. Also a fabulous location! Sharing a glass of bubbly in the hot tub overlooking the bay was very special. We would definitely recommend!

Ideal for winter breaks and for the summer, with excellent facilities and accommodation. The food is very good but more practical than foodie stuff, which is a relief. Service is amongst the best that I have ever encountered internationally and the best that I have found in the UK. Constantly upgrading itself while not abolishing traditions. Value fir money is high as so much is included.

We stopped at the Nare Head Hotel out of season and experienced exemplary service. One of the chaps who works front of house (Andrew) is an absolute legend. He went out of his way to help us with something and he was very friendly and helpful. Outstanding customer service skills and a credit to the hotel. Make sure you say hello if you stop there! Highly recommended.

Food is superb, beds very comfortable, sea view has no road in between so you can appreciate the sights and sounds perfectly. Writing this makes me want to immediately return!
