A magnificent experience of old world hospitality. A hidden gem with many extras for a longer stay. Historical buildings in gracious surroundings, home cooked meals, high teas, plenty of parking , comfort plus. Added bonus of art gallery to browse. Tourist bureau of Gundaghai not giving out info on this special place.

Gundagai has far better establishments that will give you better service. To say the proprietor has issues is putting it mildly - he is a very rude man. Unfortunately we had to cancel our booking due to ill health and lost our deposit of $225.00 even with giving 4 weeks notice. There is no cancellation policy on their website and...

If only I had read the "Tripadvisor" reviews before we booked. What a waste of $230. Our suite was the so-called top of the range "gate house lodge". Its view to the north consisted of the former convent's boys and girls toilet block. This mattered little however as the curtains were "pegged" permanently together preventing daylight shining onto the scene....

Excruciating...... Discussions with our host were torturous and an experience to avoid.. Eschew dinner and look for the local caravan park, which no doubt will be more comfortable and less offensive.. Honestly should have read the reviews prior to booking.. Time has passed by Lanigan Abbey, if only we had too.

We were very disappointed in this place, considering the high price of the $225 we paid for the night. It was a very old room which was freezing cold and ill-maintained. It lacked things you would expect from a $50 room such as milk for making tea or a rubbish bin. We were unhappy to be "upgraded" to room we...

I have visited this property during 2011 and decided not to stay as the owner approached us in an unfriendly manner warning us that we were on private property. It was bizarre welcome to say the least. Many other good options in town. I was back in Gundagai for the 2011 Snake Gully Cup and was told that 2 visiting...

Awful experience, the place is a joke. Our greeting was to be told off for not answering our phone even though we arrived on time. The Rose "Suite" is a very small double bedroom. The "adjoining" bathroom is down the hallway, past the lounge and the kitchen and next to the front door. There is no bath, just a shower....

.We have just spent a marvellous weekend in Gundagai helped in no small way by the five (5) star accommodation and hospitality we experienced at Lanigan Abbey. It is a jewel not to be missed if you decide to stay in Gundagai.

Had a fabulous time in Gundagai over the Snake Gully Cup weekend. Stayed at Lanigan Abbey in the Irish Suite for the 10th time. Special thanks to Joan & Brian for their hospitality. Loved the 'country' breakfast in the garden, drinks on the verandah, and especially the top class dinner in the beautiful dining room Looking forward to the next...

Guests should never be reprimanded upon arrival anywhere! All rooms should have a lockable door. The 'top' suite doesn't even have a door. The dining/lounge room features the dog's chair and the owner's chair/bed. The male owner is arrogant and has an issue with women and children. He took issue with us having booked online and not calling him first,...
