First off, I travel to Reedsville for business periodically and stay at a hotel chain. Well, this time I scheduled my trip and I could only get a hotel for the first part of the week as the hotel was totally booked. I decided to get here and I could find "something" at that time. Little did I know at that time this was the move in time for Penn State freshman. YIKES! So I checked around and the closest was an hour and a half away. No Bueno, a colleague recommended the Briar Rose, so I called. They had Thursday, but Friday was booked. And this is where the magic kicked in. Lisa and James let me stay in the private living room and did everything they could to make me comfortable. The room had doors and the emergency cot was comfortable. No issues and problem solved! Thank you so much Jeff for that awesome review, YOU ROCK! Our new best friend....:) It was so awesome having you stay with us, as soon as you got here I felt like I knew you forever. I had such a blast playing 80s Name that Tune. Any time I can go back in time, I am happy. I am so glad you found us, and I am glad that the living room was comfy enough for you. Looking forward to your return!

I loved staying at this vintage Pennsylvania home in Reedsville PA. I traveled to Reedsville with my 91 year old mother to attend a reunion with the descendants of one of her 7 brothers. We elected to stay at the Briar Rose at the head of the valley which provided us easy access to all the major roads in the area. Jim and Lisa, our hosts, are amazing folks who made us feel so welcome and at home. Lisa served up made to order, delicious breakfasts every morning at our desired schedule in a beautiful, comfortable setting in her spacious dining room. We had access to the kitchen and bar area to bring in our own drinks and snacks as we desired. Lisa also had a fridge upstairs near the bedrooms where we could put our snacks. I especially enjoyed sitting on the 2nd floor balcony

We wanted something romantic, and we sure found it ,nestled in the mountains of Reedsville,pa. Lisa and Jim Everett were the perfect host and hostess. The home was absolutely adorable and all ready for the holidays. When we were escorted upstairs to our room, after munching on fresh made chocolate chip cookies, there were two sets of towels ,folded on the bed in the shape of snowmen. Also,a wonderful hot tub, with all sorts of lovely scents. ( no additional charge ) were there for us to use,and a bowl of treats as well. We hung out with lisa for a while, and listened to great music, and stories of famous people who have visited her establishment. I hope we get back some Halloween. Lisa said that's her favorite holiday. Thanks again for a great time Susan and stu

We were looking for an affordable, convenient place to stay on short notice for an overnight trip to the State College area. We got more than we bargained for with the Briar Rose. Friendly, engaging hosts, cozy, warm bedroom, comfortable couch (for the snoring public), a hearty, delicious breakfast, and great morning conversation with our fellow guests. It all ended far too soon. We'll be heading back again, if only to take a late night dip in the hot tub!

Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast is an amazing place to stay either for a long-term stay or for a weekend/week getaway. I actually stayed there myself long term, five and a half months, while doing my internship at Lewistown Hospital. Briar Rose became my other home away from home. Lisa and Jimmy are one of the nicest people and hosts you'll ever meet. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make sure you enjoy your stay as much as possible. The place is also decorated beautifully, and reflects different holidays and seasons. Also, the food is excellent and you get a nice variety in what is served. I very much enjoyed my stay there and was thankful for how inviting the place and the hosts were. I'm so glad I chose to stay at Briar Rose Bed and Breakfast

We had a great time and Lisa (owner) was so accommodating. We were not familiar with the area so she had a lot of fantastic recommendations. Parks are nearby so we spent some time walking and exploring. Found a really cool outdoor fireplace and mini museum to warm up on our walk. Revival down the street is a must do while you are there. Amazing food and can't wait to go back. Just a block or so away so you can walk. Breakfast was yummy and loved the choices of beverages. Decorations were beyond adorable and apparently it's not like this just at Halloween. Makes you want to go each holiday to see the decorations!! I actually spent extra time downstairs just to check out the decorations. Spoiler alert - check out their Facebook page if you want a sneak peak of the

This B&B is fabulous! We've stayed at the Briar Rose twice now and will be going back again in early April. We simply love it! The place is immaculate, charmingly decorated, and the hospitality of the owners can't be beat. Oh, and the food is delicious, too. It is easily the best value around for the money, hands down. Just sooo reasonable! It is our favorite place to stay when we have to visit our son at Penn State. I highly, highly recommend it!

My husband & I loved the Gazebo Room with it's own bathroom, jacuzzi tub, private balcony, snacks, TV/ DVD player & choices of DVD's to watch. The breakfast was to die for but more than that the owners were very knowledgeable about the area and gave lots of suggestions for places to visit. Their hospitality was over the top. We have returned a few times. Consider the owners great friends now. Would recommend this B & B to friends & family.

My absolute favorite place to visit! Better and more affordable than any hotel. My fiancé & I have stayed in the gazebo room twice now and love it. There is a sink, toilet and jacuzzi tub in the room and a beautiful balcony. Also included are bathrobes, a tv, movies, a snack basket, coupons for free wine glasses & so much more. The hospitality is out of this world, you are offered tea/coffee & the breakfast in the morning is the best I have ever had. I could go on & on about how much I LOVE this bed and breakfast. This is the first review I have ever wrote in my life, that's saying something about how much I really love this place. It is a must visit!
