Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed two nights for a getaway weekend. Toured Straub brewery and saw the elk in Elk town...nearby St. Mary, PA. Recommend this for a low price and clean hotel room and their restaurant and bar are very good. We met another couple in the bar who were also staying there to see the elk.

We chose this hotel for the price alone. We are not much for large hotel bills and we have been brave and willing enough to try the smaller least expensive hotels, even trying those with only a few rated stars. All in all this worked out very well for us. This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but looks can be deceiving. The room we booked through Hotels.com was clean and quite comfortable. This regular hotel room included a microwave, a small refrigerator, a hairdryer, and a ironing board and iron. Also included was an extra pillow and a blanket plus a clock and coffee maker. For the nominal price ($55.50) it really was a high value booking for the nominal price. Oh and I forgot to mention a. Continental breakfast to boot! Again, it doesn't look like much but it has been one of the great bargains we have found while on the road.

We have only stayed in the Jacuzzi room. Queen bed, very comfy. TV could definitely be bigger. Shower big enough for 2, as is the Jacuzzi. VERY overpriced. Out of all the rooms they have, I would only stay in this one, as the rest of the "Inn" is very outdated. Room is not handicapped friendly as you have to climb a flight of stairs to get to the room(s). Bar and restaurant on 1st floor, rooms on 2nd. "Continental" breakfast ... pass on it, packaged danishes from Sam's Club.

I stayed in Gunners Inn's so called "accessible room" for one night in Sept., 2015. The room was in no way accessible to a wheelchair. I had to have assistance to get into the room because there is no ramp to the curb. Also, there is a 3" step at the door, which I also needed assistance to navigate. The bathroom is so tiny that I could not enter it with my narrow adult size wheelchair. Needless to say, I will never stay at this poor excuse for a hotel again.

This hotel has had some changes since a review done in 2014. There are security locks on the door, a peep hole and you get wifi. The bed is actually comfortable and the hotel staff friendly and helpful. It is tired though, needing upgrading. The caulking around the tub is breaking down, the carpets old and thin and some rooms do not have windows. There were toilet problems and one hot water problem with rooms a group booked. It is serviceable if you do not expect too much but the price too high for what you get.

Where to start with this hotel.. First of all, don't plan on staying here if you plan on sleeping. The rooms are above the bar, so you can hear every bit of music and every word being said. There were drunk people outside when we got here who wouldn't even move for us to park. Secondly, do not travel here with children. Besides the loud drunken people running through the halls, there is loud cussing that everyone can hear. Thirdly, don't stay here if you expect A/C or heat. They don't work. Fourthly, do not stay here if you expect cleanliness in a hotel. It was absolutely DISGUSTING. I didn't want to touch anything. Fifthly, do not stay here if you expect anything to be newer than 1970. The ceiling is pealing away at the edges. The couch is torn and the fibers are popping out of the seams. The joke of an A/C unit is falling out of the wall. There are empty nails in the wall. The paint is pealing off of the wall. There are no hangers. The chair is broken. The coat hangers are falling off of the wall. The room smells like smoke. You can hear the toilet flushing downstairs. There are spiderwebs on the light fixtures. There is mold in the bathtub. The shower curtain is torn. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

Outdated is the word I would use, if there weren't other problems. Old key doors no security hole, no security chain. The dresser that the tv sat on had no leg it was just lying under it. The blankets were dirty. The lamps were filthy didn't want to touch them. Noises all night. No wi-fi when we were told there was, a reason for staying. Soap in the shower was open, mildew in tub. Terrible front desk manners, no use making a complaint they totally ignored you. No iron or board, the coffee setup was funny, the coffee mugs were from some medical center. UGH! Will never stay again!!!!!

The beds were very comfortable, thats all i can say in compliments. The rooms are old and outdated. the windows are single pane, so you hear everything. at 89/ night, there are better and cheaper hotels ( Comfort Inn and Best Western) about 1.5 miles to to the south on the highway. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, but we were too late to try any food. Breakfast, well, I agree with the other reviews....its not breakfast. its prepackaged snack food that was not very good.

I don't think I'd stay there again but if you have to, its actually an ok place to spend a night. It was clean but really low end. For the price I would have expected better. Breakfast is a joke, cookies and coffee is NOT breakfast.. Restaurant for supper was actually very good.
