There are several positives to this inn. It is convenient to many attractions, but far enough from the bustle of Newport. The room was clean, the daytime staff was friendly, and there was coffee and tea in the lobby all day. As far as the negatives....laminate flooring through the rooms and halls make for a lot of noise, our room...

The Inn was conveniently located, with parking, although a short drive was required to Newport's attractions as well as restaurants. This was a small property with the ambience of an inn. The outside looked well cared for, but a bit worn. The common areas were large, with high ceilings, which gave the impression of a drawing room in a manor...

The staff at the Carriage House Inn is exceptional. The Inn is clean and it was very convenient to have on-site parking. It was a little too far from downtown Newport to walk to the attractions, but that was our only qualm, and it was worth a short Uber ride to stay at this more affordable, quaint Inn with lots...

It seems like it was a huge house with many rooms at one point and is now converted into a hotel. The room was big enough to accommodate all four of us - there was a sleeping area, a sitting area and a bathroom. We were there for a couple of nights and the breakfast was included as a part...

It is hard to describe how Carriage House wants to be classified. Initially it comes across as trying to be a niche boutique style hotel. With just a little effort it could easily succeed in this endeavor. However, it certainly seemed the effort was lacking during our recent visit, leaving it just slightly above the Econo/Budget motels. The Good The...

When selecting this property for my stay in the Newport area, I noticed the TripAdvisor reviews were quite a mixture of positive and negative. I am pleased to report that in my case, anyway, I had a positive experience. The Inn is located in a residential area of Middletown, away from the chaos of Newport. The décor is charming, though...

I arrived on Saturday this August excited to check in and get ready for my friend's nearby wedding at Fort Adams...only to learn that I was moved to another hotel due to "maintenance issues" supposedly to a gorgeous $500 suite! I was informed and persuaded that I would love it and that others were not so lucky. Should have been...

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is not plush, but is clean and comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and got us oriented quickly. Since we did not have a car, we purchased a couple of $8 dollar tickets for the on-demand shuttle run by the Carriage House and sister properties. Simply call the number for the shuttle as often...

We stayed over for a couple of days in June 2016. We had three rooms there all with their own problems like water pressure, stains on curtains and ripped also chairs that sunk to the bottom when you sat on them. Our room #9 had air conditioning problems and had so many ants and moths! When I went out to...

My fiancé and I recently visited Newport, RI, for the first time. We are both graduate students who needed a long weekend away to relax, and the cost for hotels was a concern for us. We took a chance by staying at The Carriage House Inn because it was very affordable compared to other hotels in the area (Newport is,...
