We booked a 3 bedroom suite with two other couples for a little weekend getaway. The suite was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. The beds were amazing - I did not want to get out of bed! I am really cautious where I stay right now and this room was spotless so it made me feel very comfortable. The pool area is a little piece of paradise. It was chilly while we were there but we enjoyed the hot tub! We had a delicious breakfast in the restaurant one morning and enjoyed fresh coffee in the lobby cafe. Great location, Ruth's Chris is right next door, The Carolina Opry and Pirate's Voyage are right across the street, boat rentals right outside the back door, and a shuttle to their luxurious beach club if you are staying in season. Can't say enough about our weekend, already planning another one with the kids! (There is an indoor pool to keep my kids busy!)

Thank you for taking the time to submit your review and we so very glad you enjoyed your stay. Our staff cares deeply that each guest will have a wonderful experience and we are gratified by your comments. Being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Myrtle Beach gives our guests a relaxing experience while still being close to wonderful entertainment such as The Carolina Opry and Pirates Voyage right across the street. We continue to work hard to keep our property spotless and ready for next guests and we look forward to your next visit. Thank you again for staying with us!!

Overall an okay stay. During our stay our phone and remote broke, but maintenance was sent up quickly to fix it. Staff is low at this tome due to covid so be prepared not to have house keeping, and be prepared to call for towels and other house keeping needs. Also the beach shuttle is currently not running, and they only limit to one beach pass per room, this makes it very difficult when you have multiple families in the condos and are only limited to one beach pass. Front decal staff was pleasant except for one who was very rude and made my in-laws very uncomfortable. The outside pool area was nice, but the inside hot tub was connected to the main pool which made it not warm. While on the private beach lifeguard staff was amazing making sure to wipe down our seats before we sat there. ( Side note, private beach is not on the property. ) The view from the room was very nice, except at the time they were painting which made some pictures bad. The fully equipped kitchen was amazing, and the fact that the condo came with a washer and dryer was amazing. We would suggest maybe having a bigger trash can in the room since housekeeping is not a thing right now. Overall the trip was good.

Hello amberburnett06, Thanks for sharing on the TA.com forum. We're grateful you selected Marina Inn for your trip and are pleased you enjoyed your stay, for the most part. As you indicated, we're adapting to the new normal with COVID bringing about many operational changes. Trying to balance the operation of a hotel/resort while accommodating guests needs and keeping everyone safe is challenging. We believe we have found a good balance so far with some hiccups along the way as we learn and things change. Again, we do appreciate you selecting Marina Inn and hope you can return again when things have returned back to what we know as "normal." Regards, Mark B.

First of all, let me begin my review with two points. 1. I have been a member of trip advisor for YEARS, and this is one of only a few poor reviews I have ever written. 2. For almost $500 a night, this was a very substandard place to stay. We have been a lot of places and we will not visit again. I will start with the positives: The anchor (unaffiliated with the hotel) is an awesome and fun place to visit with great service and food. Ruth's Chris is always a favorite and walkable. The room was "fine." The bed was good. The temperature stayed cool in the room. Fred, the shuttle driver was awesome and accommodating. The balcony would have been great except for the CONSTANT overpowering smell of marijuana permeating our space the ENTIRE time we stayed there. The pool and lobby were packed, yet they stated that they were not cleaning rooms due to "covid." We asked for more coffee and more towels and no one ever brought them. That was after calling to the lobby about ten times and no one picked up the phone. We walked there and waited in a seven person line, with one person working and she stated rudely that there was no housekeeping and they would send it. After the second day, we stopped a person working in the hall, who threw a couple of bags of towels at us. We never did get the coffee. The coffee shop took about 25 minutes in the morning for machine coffee. On the last day we were there, we called the lobby about about 15 times to request a late check out due to our late flight. Finally walked to the lobby and waited in a long line, again, only one person working. We requested a late check out and she denied our request. We hung out at the pool for hours, after we checked out. About 4.5 hours later, we walked up the bathroom and found that they had not cleaned that room or occupied it. We most certainly could have had a late check out. If it was not so expensive, it could be excused that the room is not cleaned during a 3 night stay, and our supplies not refreshed. It might have been excusable that the linens were dirty when we arrived. It is not however, excusable to have uncourteous and unaccommodating staff, no security around the hotel at all and strange people meandering from the marina area at night, and most certainly not excusable to be completely surrounded by marijuana smoke for 4 days.

We had a horrible experience. We got to the hotel at 4pm which is check-in time per their website and instructions. Our room was not ready and we were told it still needed to be cleaned and because of COVID they could not even give us a time frame, they just said we would receive a text when it was ready. We never got a text saying that our room was ready and had to keep checking back with the front desk until finally after waiting FOUR hours we got our room keys. When we mentioned that our family with two young children had been waiting for so long the staff could barely say they were sorry and seemed inconvenienced by us, the people they were supposed to be accommodating! There were other people trying to check in as well and we could hear that their rooms were not ready either. The hotel staff has failed miserably and should all be trained on proper customer service and business practices. Do not advertise what time rooms will be ready unless you can actually have them ready. For what seemed to be such a nice hotel we definitely expected a MUCH higher level of customer service. If that weren’t bad enough, when we got to our room we were missing basic items like towels and soap! We will not be booking here again after such a miserable experience. Save yourself the trouble and find a better hotel!

Dear tim2023: thank you for letting us know of your poor check in experience. There is no excuse for your inconveniece...I am terribly sorry. It has taken us a while to bring staff back after the pandemic and we are trying our best to remedy that. I am so sorry you and your family had to wait for so long to get into your room. I promise we are doing our best to get back to the level of service our guests expect......and we get more employees hired back and better each day. Please don't think for a second that we don't care....because we truly do. Thanks again for your post.

We just returned from a two day mini vacation. The hotel accommodations are very good even though the indoor pool was not open because it is “not in season”. Constructive is going on. The restaurant was very expensive and the food I would consider only average. I ordered a shrimp cocktail and you could still feel that they were frozen and certainly not fresh. The chocolate mouse dessert was delicious. Needless to say we did not go back.

Hi Camper206596, Thanks for sharing your experience on the TripAdvisor.com forum and thanks for selecting Marina Inn Grande Dunes. We're pleased you experience at our resort was overall a positive one and that you found our accommodations to be very good. Yes, February is our slow season so we took that opportunity to complete some necessary work on our indoor pool. This amenity is normally open and access 365 2/47 but unfortunately during your visit it was out of order, bad timing, sorry. We're disappointed your visit to our restaurant wasn't the best, your feedback has been shared with our culinary team who will assess where improvements can be made. Thanks again for selecting Marina Inn and we hope the next time you take a mini vacation, you will consider us again. Mark B.

This hotel has lovely spacious rooms with balconies. The lobby is cozy and inviting. The location is great. You can watch the boats in the harbor, walk to restaurants (Ruth’s Chris, Anchor Cafe) and make use of the quick shuttle to the beach. The drawbacks are that the pool area is needs some manicuring. The greenery is overgrown and needs updating. We also saw several (many) palmetto bugs (aka. Cockroaches) when out by the pool and had the unfortunate experience of finding one in our suitcase when we got home. There were outdoor dining areas which would have been a selling point but it felt like they weren’t used regularly. They did not have a clean and tidy appearance. Staff was friendly and helpful but you needed to call down to get clean towels or your trash emptied. This is a hotel with great potential, but at over $300 a night, it was also quite expensive so I am hoping they are just coming back from a pandemic-related slump in services.

A group of eight of us stayed at Grande Dunes for a week of golf. The location was perfect with one of the courses next door and all other courses within a 30-minute drive. The breakfasts were fantastic and got us off to a great start. Doreen was our hostess/server and did a wonderful job of having the food on the table each morning at the exact time we were scheduled to have breakfast (we gave her our orders the day before). The accommodations were very comfortable with 3-bedroom suites, a common living room area, dining room and kitchen. The two "hot tubs" (capable of holding 8-10 people) next to the outside pool were utilized each evening to soothe our sore muscles and relax. The suite included a washing machine and clothes dryer. This is the second year we have been to the Marina Inn and have plans to come back again next year.

Nice place 15 years ago
My family and I have been coming here for years. We have stayed in both the 2 and 3 bedrooms villas. This time we stayed in a 2bdrm for 3 nights overlooking the pool and marina. The room was clean but man really needs updating. I have some pics I’m going to share. We all know the service industry has been hit hard with staffing shortages so we just tried to stay patient and understanding. We received a text @ 5:44 that I room was ready. We used or visited about everything onsite or near by, rented jet ski s for an hour(fun well managed co) enjoyed a dinner at Ruth’s Chris(not bad, food was amazing than you Mo) enjoyed the pool(still a small pool for a large hotel but clean), anchor cafe (excellent as always), the hotel restaurant water scapes has good food and a very pleasant staff. Pool bar has always been a challenge for this hotel but they had a new bartender her 5th day managed just fine. The interior of the rooms were clean but again need updating badly, shower valve very loose, one of the toilets didn’t flush some times, heavy mold behind the silicone in the shower, picture
Frames are at the point of just falling apart. We need to find a place that’s newer and nice like this place once was. I guess we just come here because we don’t want to risk staying somewhere worse.
