You are correct that there is construction going on at the resort. All of the condos located at the Myrtle Beach Resort are all privately owned homes that do require regular maintenance, and at times major projects have to be completed as well. It is regretful that it has affected your vacation, but it is work that must be done in order to remain in operation. All of the ocean front condos located in the Ocean Spa Bldg B are currently having their balconies reconstructed. As a result, there are caution notices, scaffolding, and a road closure around that section of the building; all done as standard safety measures in construction areas. I certainly hope that all of the guests would respect those notices. Our rental agency does not run the resort as a whole. We are a rental agent only for the individual condo owners who have contracted us to do so. Only a few of those condos we rent out are ones that are under construction at this time. Guests renting through our agency who had previously requested those condos were contacted well in advance of arrival and given alternate condo options of their own choice or the option to cancel with a full refund. The photo you posted is from an ocean front condo that is under construction, but not one our rental agency rents out. In addition, we have not given access to any of the condos we rent to any of our renters while they are under construction as a precaution. We are unsure of who you actually rented from, but we do hope that you posted the same review on their listing as would be better suited to address your concerns about your condo and any charges on your account. We do also hope you notified them of any issues you are having in their condo so they are able to address it immediately. If not we do suggest you do so as we are sure any reputable agency would certainly want to do all they can to make you comfortable. Since we do not operate the resort itself, we are personally unaware of any issue with the Security personnel walking into condos without verifying occupancy and at least knocking first, but we do know that their Chief would be more than happy to discuss your concerns with you and do their best to address them if you would contact the gate. In summary, we do regret to hear any negative reviews form any guest about the Myrtle Beach Resort; even if they are not our guest. Unfortunately since you are not a guest of ours and we did not do business with you at all, we are limited as to how we are able to respond to your complaints. We do provide written documentation to all of our guests at the time of booking and again upon arrival as to what charges they will and will not be responsible for. We also provide an ample amount of time upon arrival for our guests to provide us information on any items that they feel require attention in these condos so that we can address it as well as notate it to your account & avoid any additional charges for things you were not responsible for. We do not charge your account anything without your written agreement and notifying you first. These are standard business practices for us. We are happy to assist you further in anyway we are able to if you would like to reach out to us directly. We also hope your current rental agent takes the necessary steps to assist you with making your stay a better one.

Great place to stay, definitely will be back! The sights were awesome, hospitality couldn't have been better! Wish we had more time available to visit! We were able to fish off the pier and caught a few fish and the little one that looks like stingrays!

Thank you for your feedback. This is the time of year when the homeowner associations to regular maintenance and updates to the resort including the elevators. I am unsure of which building you are referring to, but they are never all down at the same time. We do apologize if this caused you any inconvenienced. We are disappointed to hear of any bugs. If you did see any type of bug, I do hope you reported it as you do not state which condo your rented in this review. Every condo receives regular pest control on a monthly basis so this should not be an issue, but if some are brought in, we are happy to notify the HOA and the pest control team that and additional treatment is necessary. If you have not already done so, please notify the agency you rented through of the issue so it can be addressed. We do take that seriously as we do not want it to become a problem. We stayed in building A last year and will stay again later this month. We love this resort but each condo is independently owned so they are all different. I do believe there is handicap parking!

Location of check in depends on whom you book through. If you book directly from the resort, then when you pull in to the resort, the check-in office is immediately on the left. At least one person in the group must be at least 23 years old. Show them your ID (like checking into a hotel). Then you will drive through security. All swimming pools and the lazy river are free for guests - you don't need passes for those. As for a water park, there are several in the Myrtle Beach area. Those would be at an additional cost.
