My husband, 2 teenage girls, and I stayed at the American House on the Hill B&B as a stop-over for a family wedding. I was amazed to find a room that would sleep 4 comfortably. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, with a huge wrap-around front porch. The bathroom was spacious with a large antique bathtub and large tiled shower.... More

Yes this B&B is valued priced and you get what you pay for. It is a county B&B and it about 15 miles from Greenville, SC. The owners are precious and will take care of you while you are there. The breakfast is home made and is always fresh. Eggs are freshly picked from the coop in the backyard. Be... More

This is a special place. Take advantage of the porch and the view. Enjoy the quiet, This is not a city place, but a place to slow down. There are room choices, and the breakfast choices are excellent. The location was good for me because I was working in Donaldson area. A two week stay. The hosts were great. Excellent... More

We were a little hesitant to book a room after reading some of the reviews but the price was right and it was only for one night so we went for it.SO glad we did! LaVena and John are great hosts and they have a great bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Williams-McDavid Room and we were very comfortable... More

Our daughter recommended this B&B in 2005, and we have stayed there many times, and at different times of the year since as it is conveniently located near family. The rooms have been comfortably cool in the heat of the South Carolina summers, and have plenty of adjustable heat in the cold of winter. We have always been warmly welcomed,... More

B&Bs are a great way to relax and often a bargain compared to hotels. Sometimes this involves a trade off between modern conveniences for historic charm, but this place lacks both. It's one thing to settle for modest appointments - that's not the problem with this place... the problem is that it's dirty and cluttered and not laid out or... More

My wife and I found this place last minute and arrived quite late but our hosts met us at the door the with warm smiles and showed us promptly to our rooms. The bed was amazing and we both slept incredibly well. Breakfast was fantastic with homemade Belgian waffles and pear topping with a poached egg, bacon, biscuits and coffee.... More

I was in the area for a family wedding and my daughter and I chose to stay at a B&B vs. local hotel chains. American House on the Hill was a great value for our stay. John was very accomodating although he was flying solo that week. The house is nice but do not expect a pristine antebellum estate. It... More

My wife and I stayed at American House on the Hill while on vacation in South Carolina. John & La Vena are wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home.
