Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved the experience and the way the owners kept it to historic 1930's quality. They added a nice shower and bath room. We were where very comfortable and enjoyed breakfast at the Inn and walking through the GARDEN. Very lovely hosts.

From the warm greeting when we arrived to the “sad” departure our time at the Clevedale Inn was wonderful. The gardens are spectacular. A complete pleasure to sit under beautiful old trees. The breakfasts were delightful and always a pleasant surprise. We could have stayed several more days but the dream had to end.

My husband I went the Clevedale Historic Inn and Gardens for Thanksgiving dinner. We didn't stay there we just went for dinner. It was very elegant and the owners were very gracious. The food was excellent. It was catered by Kribbs Kitchen. We enjoyed a 4 course meal plus cheese, fruit and crackers before dinner along with a glass of champagne. The meal consisted of a spiced pear salad with raspberry vinegarette dressing, butternut squash soup, ham and Turkey with mashed potato's, green beans and cornbread stuffing with bread pudding and pecan pie for dessert. We did not get a chance to explore the gardens becausendusknwas falling quickly but I will say we want to go back and maybe stay there for a day or two next time.

Paul greeted us in the car park, gave us an overview of the property. It’s beautiful! Pontheolla greeted us in the quaint lobby. Both were super informative and jolly The Ohana room was perfect with a HUGE porch overlooking some of the property and gardens. Lots of nice touches throughout the Inn. Would def stay again when in the area. Perfect wedding location! Super friendly owners and marvelous breakfast!

We recently stayed in the Clevedale Inn's "Wren" bedroom, which featured a king-size bed, private bath and a covered outdoor deck with a view over the beautiful grounds. Rooms are large, with very high ceilings and big windows and our own temperature control. The bed was very comfortable, the towels were fluffy and plentiful. Just outside the room, there is a Keurig and small refrigerator, stocked with water and soda. Our hosts, Paul and Pontheola, were helpful and welcoming. We felt right at home from the moment the front door opened. They even served breakfast at our preferred time! And breakfast was amazing, each of three mornings they surprised us with a new dish, including the famous shrimp and grits combination, which was out of this world delicious! We felt relaxed, slept extremely well and enjoyed walking around the ivy-covered paths, listening to splash of the moss-covered fountains which drove away travel fatigue and left us feeling renewed and revitalized.

Our 3-night stay was amazing. The innkeepers were warm, personable hosts who provide over the top hospitality. The inn and our room (Ohana) were exquisite. The breakfasts were scrumptious. All of that earned this inn a 5-globe rating from GlobetrottersOntheGo.com.

Tried to book a couples wedding there and was so much back and forth that I did not pursue. Realized if it was this difficult to plan and the responses received were not to my liking, would not be good to proceed with this location. Glad I didn't, ended up with a planner and officiant who were more than accomodating. Things happen for a reason!

Paul and Pontheola are both wonderful! I’ve stayed here at least 4 times. I’ll always try to get a room here before anywhere else. My son goes to Wofford College so we come about twice a year. The food is perfect, my daughter loves the little juice cocktails. The rooms couldn’t be cleaner. Beds are firm and sleep very well. I’ve stayed in Ohanna and The Wren, Love both. We love our visits with Paul and Pontheola, they are very nice caring folks and great conversationalist. They have done an amazing job following “her” dream to own a b&b. I’ve stayed in many b&bs and they have truly spoiled me! I just can’t be satisfied anywhere else. Clevedale Inn is wonderful! You can’t go wrong here!
