I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel. The beds were very comfy and I love how they put a apartment size refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. The managers were just sweet as could be and made it feel very homey. For breakfast they always had breakfast sat out and hot coffee waiting. Sharla and Kyle bent over... More

Superceded expectations and reasonable price. It was clean and fresh, large rooms we could visit with friends and on trolley route so others could look around. The managers were wonderful and helpful with every request. We will come back soon. Thanks

This hotel is "Our kind of place". This mom & pop type place is located away from the hustle of downtown and reminds you that you are still in the hills. The rates are very reasonable for the clean, quiet & comfortable stay you get. The managers are accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

We were late by well over an hour for our check in time. The desk person called wondering if we were going to make it at all. She then called again leaving instructions on how to get the keys for our rooms out of a lock box. We had been in an area without reception for our cell phones (Devil's... More

Average not much more The appliances were noisey The rates were jacked up even though they had vacancies. They wanted an extreme rate for two beds compared to one. Both room rates were for two people just one bed or two. I could understand the rate if it was the last room but that no vacancy sign was on our... More

Got rained out of camping so we thought it would be fitting to go stay at the Thunder Cove. Location is awesome. A trolley brings you into town. The guy managing it was super nice. Helpful in finding us activities in the area and getting us checked in.

I have stayed here before and keep coming back. The management is extremely friendly and always willing to help out. The room is spacious and contains a microwave and fridge for longer stays. The trolley allows me to keep my truck at the motel and enjoy someone else driving me downtown. It is very reasonably priced and is one of... More

I'm giving this hotel five stars within a certain context and that's budget. The hotel was very reasonably priced, and our room was very clean and comfortable. It's in a good location for those looking to be near town, but not in it. Housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again, especially if on a budget.

We have now stayed at the Thunder Cove Hotel three times. It’s the best deal price wise in Deadwood. Sharla & Kyle are so cordial! We enjoy visiting with them over coffee and muffins in the morning. The hotel is comfortable, clean, nicely maintained and the towels are soft! If you forgot something or need something, just ask and they... More

We stayed for 3 nights while in the area. Room was nice sized large refrigerator. Breakfast was just muffins, danishes, and coffee but still ok. The people that run it are nice. Only downfall was the rooms smelled funny.
