I have not posted reviews for a while, seemingly limited recently to business trips in functional but bland hotels. I have been drawn back by the need to commend this fantastic small hotel/B&B. My wife and I spent three happy nights here, in a triple room with wonderful views of the small inlet at Goleen. The scene is ever changing... More

We had dinner here and booked an evening stay. Food and location were both stunning. Couldn't have better. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our bedroom was spacious and had a lovely balcony looking out onto the cove. It felt like you were on the Mediterranean. The room was very warm but think it was time of year and... More

This was our sixth night out of 8 on our Irish vacation from California and so far it was our most enjoyable location. The room was by far the largest we had and the shower was also the largest. We had room 2 and it had a large private balcony which we enjoyed sitting on whilst drinking a bottle of... More

Once again I dined at herons cove for the umpteenth time this year. Never fails to let us down and the wines are the best restaurant prices in Ireland. The restaurant is eclectically and quirkily decorated. Kind of old fashioned in a way but plenty to look at and great views especially when sea is in. One little complaint is... More

This place was absolutely fantastic, staff, food, location, rooms. I would highly recommend this accomadation and I cannot wait to go back again. We had one of the smaller rooms but it was still really lovely, there was even a little teapot which I loved.

This B&B cum restaurant is in a lovely place and when the tide is in, even lovelier. The restaurant has a lived-in charm with traditional furniture, family photos and decorative items. In the winter there is often a fire and seats around it on which to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. The food is average, however. Solid and plentiful, but lacking... More

We stayed here for 3 nights B & B, and then chose to have evening meals here as well. Our very comfortable room had a balcony and large window overlooking the secluded Heron Cove, with herons making regular appearances. The welcome was very warm and the food was extremely good with a varied choice at breakfast and very good choices... More

I was down at the West Cork Literary Festival last week when Aileen, a girl I met in my work shop recommended The Heron's Cove for a light lunch. The weather was exquisite and since she was willing to show me the way I jumped at the opportunity to explore the area and eat somewhere different. Our cars met at... More
