Back again for another stay at the Highlands and we were not disappointed. Despite all the major renovations going on the hotel was a good as ever! Our rooms were warm and clean, a little dated but nice and clean. The staff in the hotel are more than friendly and will go out of their way to do anything for...

We called there during a family trip to Donegal on our way to Dungloe. Food was good, service was slow and the disabled toilet facilities are a disgrace. The people who own this hotel should borrow a wheelchair and try to utilise these facilities themselves. Its amazing what can pass for disabled access in this instance. We won't be calling...

We travel to Glenties about once a month and always stay in the Highlands Hotel. The staff here are so approachable and always happy to help. Nothing is a problem and the service in the restaurant/ bar area is great too. The menu has lots of selection.. but I always go for the seafood plate as it is just delicious-...

I was with a party of bikers on a tour of Donegal, so I had no choice as to where we stayed, but his place was "just the ticket", a real Irish welcome, basic, well run, clean, nothing was "a bother", strong shower, comfortable bed, generous helpings of food & fast service in the restaurant, great value, good cooked breakfast,...

After a day on the beach, we dropped in for a bite to eat and we're very happy with what we found. Very friendly and helpful staff and some of the tastiest chowder I've ever tried. Minor disappointment because the homemade apple pie was sold out but will just have to return again :) Live music to enjoy also Well...

We spent about 5 days in the hotel. We found the food excellent, the facilities good, although not having wifi in the room but only in the lounge which is free, though) was a small minus. What was extraordinary though was the hospitality extended to us by the staff. A few times we came way beyond the indicated times for...

Have stayed here before. Handy when visiting wife's family homestead etc. Enjoyed stay as usual. Staff helpful. Good breakfast and nice atmosphere. Rooms clean etc. Stayed 32& 33. Chowder , I didn't have, but person who did said it was okay but not as creamy etc as in other places. Given other great write ups a little disappointing. I personally...

Called in for lunch. Food was really good and portions were generous however this lovely old hotel is in need of some tlc. It is almost 20 years since we last visited and I don't think there's been any renovation in the bar and lounge area. The hotel retains it old world charm so hopefully any future renovation will build...

Superb food- great staff. Very reasonable prices. 2nd visit here was still amazing - menu has a wide variety. Beer battered haddock to die for! Caters for kids as well as adults and gives free dilute juice with meals. Desserts great- especially hot chocolate fudge cake- so light!! (Served with vanilla ice-cream).
