This hotel has everything to be a top hotel but it isn't. I got the impression this hotel is not properly managed. The rooms are comfortable and clean, but a number of things just show lack of care (ie. the basin had the tap completely lose, there was also a big crack in the basin, toilet paper was the worst possible, bathroom ventilation was not working, bedroom curtains were missing hooks, mirrored wardrobe door was missing in our son's rooms, etc).
Due to Covid restrictions staff does not service the rooms during your stay. Unlike other hotels they don't even leave clean towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc outside the room.
The access to the pool had to be done from outside although there is direct access inside the hotel!
The breakfast is ok, you order at the table, self-service is not available due to Covid restrictions. We had dinner one night and the food was delicious, but waiting literally one hour (!) to get our food served was too much (and the restaurant was not even busy!). We also felt the prices for the wine were way too expensive for a 3 star hotel (€29/bottle min).
Probably the most annoying thing was not getting higher level rooms as requested in our booking (which was made 2 weeks before). When this was mentioned at the reception the manager said the only option was to have the 2 rooms in separate levels (which we didn't want), we felt she didn't care enough and 2 weeks should be sufficient to ensure the rooms were reserved as requested.
The hotel is nicely located, there are Luas and Bus stops very near, and also a nice shopping centre and nearby. We didn't feel the location was unsafe, and we saw at least 2 garda cars patrolling the area.
All in all we had a nice stay but we were sad to see such a good hotel with so many problems. We understand that the hospitality sector is struggling but if there is a manager here h/she should open their eyes.

We recently stayed in this hotel for 3 night with our children. The staff made us feel so welcome from the minute we arrived at the car-park until our departure. We stayed in an interconnecting family room, and it was very spacious and comfortable, there was 5 of us staying. The rooms are impeccably clean with fresh towels daily and any requests were immediately responded to. The food is fabulous, we had dinner in the bar, there was a great menu choice and the food was very tasty. Breakfast each morning provided a great choice in options and set us up each day. The pool is great, there is a very calming sensation there even with the kids!!! The pool area and changing rooms were being constantly cleaned.
Location wise it is only a 2 minute walk to the Luas, the cinema, restaurants & shopping center are again only a 2 minute walk which also gave us great comfort during our stay.
I would highly recommend the Maldron, Tallaght. We will most definitely be back.

My colleague and myself recently stayed with this hotel and the check in was very quick, to my surprise the receptionist spoke Spanish which is very handy, we even had a lovely talk! The reception looked very new and clean. The room I got was a high floor and the room was impeccable. What i found very thoughtful is that there are stickers to seal the door, even the cups in the room were sealed which I thought was amazing during this pandemic.

Thank you for a great stay

I stayed in Maldron Tallaght bank holiday weekend from start to finish the experience was brilliant. We as a family where very scared to go as the situation we are in at the moment! We got lost to the car park so I made a call to the hotel a lovely lady Orla directed us straight to it, as we arrived to reception that lovely lady Orla Manager was standing there full of smile which was good to see that in the hotel she was very polite and even chatted to my little girl as we signed the sheet. Hand sanitizers everywhere even lifts all staff was covered with masks! Breakfast was pretty busy the Sunday morning which I could see the staff where busy we waited to be seated we got seated & tea/coffees by a lovely blonde girl never caught her name. By surprised Orla was there again which was good to see same staff on. Swimming pool was good lucky we got a slot as 45 mins and book online! Over all we will be back for other stay soon! Thank you Maldron Tallaght for a safe experience!

Having stayed in numerous hotels in Ireland and further afield for business, this hotel is one of my favourites.

One of the things that sets this hotel apart from even some of the so called 4 & 5 star hotels is the staff, each and every one of them is amazing. When working and staying away from home during the week it’s nice to get a friendly welcome and a smile.

Check-in is always very quick and well organised. Absolutely nothing is too much trouble for Orla and her front desk team, they always make you feel very welcome.

Rooms are always spotless and are a good size with very comfy beds and pillows.

The bar/restaurant is great with lovely food served by very friendly and conscientious staff. Breakfast is of great quality and well managed by Sandra and her team.

Always a pleasure staying here and like the title says - My home from home!

Great location for shops, restaurants and public transport. Hotel itself wasn't so great. We were initially delighted to see we had a balcony in the room, but the door to it was locked and there was a sign saying no access to balcony. It was the only way out if there was a fire in the hotel, so didn't feel very safe.

Woke up on the first morning with someone elses plaster stuck to my leg, which led me to believe the sheets hadn't been changed before our arrival. The duvet cover was very worn and full of stains, as was the carpet in the room.

The water pressure from the shower is ridiculously low, and it took ages to have a shower.

Overall there's no way I'd go back to this hotel unless there was a complete revamp done, including hiring staff who are willing to change the sheets between guests.

We were attending a family Christening in Tallaght so it was a great location and also handy for the Luas line into Dublin. Rooms were clean and modern.Staff excellent. Breakfast at wk ends finishes at 11am but when we arrived down on Mon at 10.30 it was finished. We were told we could still help ourselves to the cold food, cereals toast tea etc. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Maldron Tallaght for a last minute family three night staycation and really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rooms were spotless and the service we received especially from time of booking and throughout the whole stay from the staff in hotel especially from Poula in reception. Nothing was too much trouble, thank you very much Poula. The breakfast staff and managers were very hands on, professional, second to none. We had interconnected rooms and enjoyed the delicious food, leisure facilities, amenities and atmosphere at the hotel. Well done Maldron. We will be back...

Friendly Staff and very cooperative. Hotel was very clean and representable. Room was the perfect size, I made a request very last minute and the receptionist was extremely helpful. I was quite worried because of the covid 19, everyone wore masks around the hotel and kept their distance. The room was very spacious and I had the walk in shower I requested. I came across the Accommodation Manager, Maria, extremely nice lady, she assured me that the rooms were thoroughly clean and sanitized for customer safety and it really calmed my concerns.

I will definitely recommend to family and friends!

We visited in august as I have a business appointment in Fashion city the following day. We opted for Tallaght as it was easily accessible to Dublin City, close to where my appointment was and there was parking.

We booked via booking.com and it was €161 which I felt was a lot considering.

Our stay was during this obscene hot weather and as expected our room was hot, infact it felt like it was almost the temperature of the surface of the sun!
The hotel had kindly provided a fan in arrival as I’m sure they was aware of the rooms heat!

We arrived and literally left 15 minutes later to go to the zoo. We was checked in swiftly and our room was ready early so we could leave our stuff which was great.

When we returned back to the room that evening we discovered that we was unable to open to balcony. I called to reception and was informed all balconies was closed off due to health & safety.

I got ready for bed with the fan on full capacity.
There are no bottles of water provided so I called to reception to ask if perhaps a jug of ice water could be brought up. I was told they don’t provide room service, I didn’t feel this was particularly a room service offering, more just concierge popping up for us. I was told I had to come down to the bar.

As it was past 9pm I thought it would be quiet so I went down in my pjamas - shorts and a T-shirt type top. I had my hair in a pineapple on top of my head and make up off.

As I come out the lift I saw the reception and the bar completely packed with football fans that had just left the grounds across the road!
I was mortified. However I was already in deep so I proceeded over to the bar and stood with all the fans in my pjs to get a jug of water.
Luckily the lady at the bar spotted me and served me straight after the person she was serving!

I then went back to the lift only to find my card wouldn’t work, so I had to return to reception holding my jug of ice water , to stand only what felt like an eternity for some guests checking in after football.

I eventually got my card sorted and scuttled off to my room .

I honestly had the worst nights sleep as the bed was hard and not comfortable at all. That coupled with the heat and no air coming in to the room it wasn’t great at all.

In the morning we went to enquire about breakfast. Was told it was €15 per person but we only wanted coffee and toast , to which they was happy to oblige on a seperate smaller charge in the restaurant.

I must note the young guy in breakfast, I’m presuming he was a manager. He was lovely and super helpful. He’s a credit to the tallaght team. He was lovely.

I’m not sure if I’d return here, we booked it simply for convenience and a clean location but I just wasn’t comfortable.

Simple things that I feel should be provided wasn’t.
