My husband & I stayed this weekend. Well run hotel, hardworking and very pleasant staff. 5 star food - we will be back :) Very central on the island - only a 10 minute walk from the ferry. Thanks to Andrew who dropped our bags to the ferry for us as well as offered us a lift. We will be...

We visited magical Inisbofin last weekend. On the Saturday night, we are in the Pub area of the Doonmore hotel, in the ownership of many generations of the Murray family. Even though it was a busy night for them, we got served delicious food promptly, and courteously . Couldn't recommend this highly enough.

We had a memorable few days in Murrays Doonmore Hotel in April. Andrew and his staff were super. Andrew brought us to and from the ferry and also drove us to hire bikes. The hotel was clean, comfortable, warm and served very good food. Looking forward very much to returning. Would highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay in this family run hotel over the Easter weekend. We were collected by the owner, Andrew, off the boat. Pub with open fire. Great seafood. Recommend the crab claws! Very homely and friendly. Would definitely come back again!

Andrew and his staff were extremely accommodating to our group. We had sailed up from Kilrush on extreme seas and were ready for dry land. We phoned ahead and made a booking for accommodation and food at 21:30. The hotel kept the kitchen running for us and they staff could not have been nicer, they collected us from the pier...

Dear Ruth, Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to be able to help and to make sure you all got fed after a long, tiring trip. Being an islander and a sailor, with seafarers on both sides of my family ( and on both sides of the country) I know all too well what it means...

This is the place to abandon watches, phones , all manner of gadgetry and reconnect with people. From the time you get to Bofin and are find yourself at the Doonmore to the day that you leave, you will find other things that are more important. The personal warmth of a family run hotel, really good food, snug friendly rooms, tremendous...

Dear BShep22, Thank you so much for your review. There should be a safe in Cleggan to leave all your gadgetry in as it only takes away from the full Bofin experience! In the event that I can't convince Galway County Council to install one there, we have one in the hotel for that purpose anyway. The' other things' you...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Murrays' Doonmore Hotel, the most westerly island hotel in Ireland, was built in 1969 and has been owned and managed by the Murray family ever since. We pride ourselves on our hands on approach to customer service so you will be dealing with a member of the family at most stages of your stay. We care about what we do because it is not just a job, it is our life. Our friendly staff are superbly trained and they know that our raison d'etre is to ensure that every customer, from a child ordering a hot chocolate to a group of adults staying for a week, deserves only the best service possible. Our hotel and bar food is famous for its freshly caught seafood and its consistently high quality and value for money. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, homely and relaxed. It is no accident that we have a large percentage of repeat business stretching back to the early days. The proof of the pudding is in the eating (and we bake all our own!) So come out and visit and experience Murrays' Doonmore Hotel for yourselves. Andrew Murray ... more   less
