Due to getting out of hospital incredibly late, a mix up with a previous hotel booking, and every hotel in Sligo being full, I arrived at Mount Edward Lodge in the middle of the night after calling the owner in the small hours of the morning. The host still welcomed me in despite being woken up and I had a very comfortable nights sleep. I would have been wandering around Sligo all night as a lone female if the owner hadn't been so accommodating.

We stayed 2 nights with Maureen. The room had beautiful sea views. The wash room was very small but perfectly serviceable. Everything was extremely clean. For breakfast there was a fabulous choice and the quality of the food was excellent. Highly recommend the eggs and smoked salmon. A great base to explore rugged Sligo.

First of all this B&B is one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. The location is so beautiful, with stunning views of wild Atlantic way and Donegal mountains. The grounds are very well maintained, (pictures attached), upon arriving we was greeted by Maureen who took the time to explain all the Covid-19 changes that have been implemented and I was really impressed by this, certainly helped as this was the first time away since post lock down. The room we stopped in was spotless! Spacious and plenty of space for clothes. The bathroom was very modern! Shower had plenty of pressure which in some places can be a let down. The towels were again of high quality, with little added extras in the bathroom if needs. The beds were very comfortable with added electric blankets if needs. In our room was a double and a single. The pillows and duvets were again fantastic. The place was so peaceful and made sleeping very easy. The breakfast offering which we pre ordered was vast, a menu was left in our room, the choices amazing. The dining room was very well laid out and I noticed plenty of hand sanitisers around plus all the safety notices. The quality of the food was delicious, portion sizes were excellent. I was speaking with Maureen about how business had been since re opening, I couldn’t believe people had booked and had the audacity not to show up! These business are people’s jobs and livelihoods how dare you not show up! Shame on you. Best of luck to everyone who works here, we were highly impressed and you’ve got a great B&B here. If your looking for somewhere who cares about your safety and comfort then I highly recommend you try here! Thank you for making our stay enjoyable

Booked for 2 nights with a friend. Maureen is such a lovely person: hospitable, friendly, attentive, easy to talk too. Such a lovely welcome. The room was spotless, lovely touch with the little extras such as toiletries, very comfortable bed, and stunning surrounding views. Breakfast choices were perfect and food so good. Would highly recommend this place.
