Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brilliant place with nice vibes very laid back. It was everything I expected, although didn't expect my room to be cleaned each day! If you're looking for somewhere to lay your head this place is perfect and does the basics so well. Returning in May

Check in was the email that received had stated room number and key in room. Room VERY dated, on getting into bed large water patch also on quilt, could not get in touch with anyone so had to put towels doen and sleep on edge of bed. Morning told owner and she changed our room to a much nicer room but still very dated. The soap dispensers in bathroom was empty and not filled when note left to advise. Breakfast disappointing. Tomato not cooked, cold beans and enimic toast. I am not a fussy person when it comes to food but I just got toast the next few mornings. Nobody around when we checked out. Location is great, bus number 15 from airport that goes straight past property and onto St helier.

Location & parking good.Good bus route, easy walking distance to St Aubins & beach. Accomdation tired & needs updating.Key was in room upon arrival.Reception not open during 7 days of our stay, only kitchen staff & house keeper seen. Curtains off wall in room on arrival, bedding snagged & worn out.Furniture old, shower hard to turn on,faulty.Damp on the walls & ceiling of bathroom.Towels changed upon request.House keeper made beds daily but room not cleaned for 7 days.Wall paper peeling from walls, carpet stained & dirty.Fire exit on level one where we were staying blocked with vacuum cleaner! Breakfast room contained 14 tables for 21 guest rooms.Choice of two cereals & cooked breakfast.Only 1 type of juice & milk, only white toast no brown bread used by the guest house.Had to wait for breakfast table, often tables were not clean.Cobweb in breakfast room, floor sticky. Reception female toilet had constant smell of urine that was in the corridor of the breakfast room. No where to leave key upon departure in reception, had to leave with kitchen staff. Found to be a budget guesthouse however cleanliness and unblocked fire escapes expected no matter what the cost.

This is my 3rd stay at Seawold Guest House, hopefully I shall return in 2024. Some of the reviews on this site mention Seawold as being dated, to me that is part of the Charm. This is a Guest House not a hotel. If you want Luxury go to a luxury hotel and pay for luxury. Seawold is very good value for money, The rooms are clean and comfortable, tv if you want it, kettle, tea and coffee in the room, clean towels as and when required….good filling breakfast. There is a large communal living room, comfortable seating, books, games and a large fridge for use by all. No TV ( hooray ! Why would you want it…..you are on holiday…there is one in every bedroom ). Anna is a lovely host, along with all her helpers. I had a lovely stay at Seawold and met many lovely friendly guests ….Thank you Anna.

We looked at the reviews on here and thought the accommodation sounded ok. The location of the guest house is brilliant as it's near a bus stop, handy for the beach and near enough to walk to St Aubin and about a 45 minute walk to St Helier. They are the main positives. The rest is up to you, once you've read the rest of this review. Before our arrival we had been told the key to our room was in the door and the room was ready. We didn't see any staff / owner on arrival and didn't see anyone till breakfast time the next day. The decor is very dated, it's like going back in time to the 70's or 80's. There is a lounge with sofas and a fridge for the guests to use. The room where the breakfast is served doesn't appear to have enough tables for all the rooms. 14 tables for 21 rooms, so if everyone turns up at the same time you won't have a seat. Breakfast is between 8-9.30am. You get a choice of 3 cereals which went down to 2 towards the end of our weeks stay, toast and a full English breakfast, bacon, sausage, cold fried egg or scrambled which was warm, tepid baked beans in a small ramekin, hash brown and a tomato. There were no substitutes allowed but you could say what you did or didn't want . No alternative was available if you didn't want white toast and only one type of milk was available. There was apple juice or orange juice. Coffee was filtered and tea was make it yourself by using hot water from a pump flask. We were told our room number was the table number to sit at but that wasn't adhered to by some guests. The bedroom was a small double and would have been more suited to one adult, not two. The sink was in a corner of the room and the en-suite was in another of the corner of the room with a step to get into it and comprised of a shower and toilet. There was a sliding door to the en-suite and had a step to get into it. The shower was very tiny and the shower curtain wasn't very waterproof so the bathroom floor ended up wet each time it was used. Sitting on the toilet looking at the shower you could see all the black mould, in corners, around the shower and on the dial of the shower. The view from the window was of a fence and overlooked by the neighbours. The window catches were very hard to use when trying to open /close the windows. The side window couldn't be left open as on the ground floor and a thin small person could gain access, but if there was a fire the window didn't seem to have a big enough opening to get out. The bed could have been comfier and the pillows thicker. It was so warm and there was no air conditioning. On one day we had an early start which meant we would miss breakfast. Before we set off, at 7.30am, I decided to see if I could have some cereal and asked a lady who had been setting up the breakfast things if I could have some cereal and explained about our early start, only to be told " no breakfast is at 8 " Not a very helpful comment. Overall this guest house gives the appearance of being similar to a hostel and for someone who is just passing through rather than staying for a week.

Great location shame about facilities and lack of presence of owner or staff in general. The room was dated and shower barely worked, the windows would not shut fully. Breakfast was poor my husband has allergies and couldn’t have half the options on offer but could only have bare minimum of what he could have

Stayed here for 4 nights bed and what I can only describe as very basic breakfast. Room was very small, and the en suite was some sort of makeshift thing made out of what I can only guess used to be a walk in wardrobe. No staff on reception. However Anna was really helpful via WhatsApp with check in details and also very responsive when the toilet in our room stopped flushing. It's a bit dated and as I say, there's not a huge choice at breakfast and they could do with an extra waitress as we regularly waited upwards of 45 minutes for our breakfast to be served. If you're looking for cheap n cheerful and on decent bus routes for the island this is ideal. If you're looking for top luxury, look elsewhere. We had room 14 for those who may want to know.
