The hotel has been recently renovated, and you can tell. Rooms and the hotel were spotlessly clean, and service was very good and provided by new staff, some still in training and full of enthusiasm. Special mention to Jess, the front desk manager, who was extremely helpful and friendly and Alex and Mo-Jo in the bar /restaurant. The room has everything you need, and although the bathroom was compact, everything was there, and the room was well serviced during our stay. We had a room with a sea view and a small balcony which is well worth any extra cost. The only minor issue was noise from other rooms could be heard. The hotel has a great location, and there is a bus stop right outside that makes it easy to get around. Great service with friendly staff. I fully recommend it to anyone thinking of visiting Jersey

Although the Sea views at this hotel are unbeatable so is the service and friendly welcome as soon as you step through the doors. The staff in the newly refurbished Bar and La Brise Restaurant areas are exceptional where only quality food and service are present. The whole ground floor has been beautifully re-designed making the most of the stunning sea views. We wouldn't stay at any other Hotel in Jersey this one has everything.

As Jersey locals, we have been visiting the Golden Sands regularly over the last 18 years for meals, bar snacks, drinks or just as a coffee stop and of course we have always found it to be excellent in all areas. However we could not wait to visit on Wednesday morning to see the major transformation from the Sands Cafe Bar to the newly created La Brise restaurant, bar and coffee shop. Wow ! An amazing transformation has taken place - it was contemporary, stylish and just so perfect for its location on the beach front in St Brelade's Bay. We were so impressed that we took some friends there for coffee and cake on the Friday morning and my husband and I had booked a staycation for Good Friday. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly, they all worked well as a team, gave off a "happy vibe" to the place, the food was superb and going forward we are sure it will be very successful and it will certainly remain as a big part of our social life here in Jersey.

Best place in a long time for a break. Gorgeous hotel, room , staff and location. We will return. Biscuits and tea in the room, extras on the breakfast menu and total relaxation, a gem of a holiday. Highly recommended to stay in, the beach is right on the doorstep, with stunning views, plenty to do locally. What a treat.

It was the end of the season when we visited Golden Sands, our stay being in the last week before the winter off-season. Seaside resorts at such times remind me of lines from Chris de Burgh's 'Fatal Hesitation'. Anyway, I digress. Golden Sands tells you exactly what to expect here. The hotel has a prime location in stunning St Brelade's Bay. The sands are indeed golden, but also clean, beautifully textured and gently shelving into the lapping waters. The bay is protected by rocky headlands and the climb off the beach to the right is reminiscent of Bondi but without the crowds. I'm told that it is lively in high season, something that is not surprising as it is very family friendly. At Golden Sands we stayed in a sea-facing room which I regard as being essential in this hotel. This was, in effect, a cruise ship's balcony cabin, only better. Instead of endless sea to look at, the vista here is ever-changing and endlessly fascinating. Our room was 101 which held no perils and managed to be handy, well-equipped and immaculately clean. The hotel's staff team was very helpful and friendly- every single person on the team was prepared to go above and beyond to help guests have a lovely stay. Food at the hotel was generally very good with breakfasts in particular featuring high quality local products. My only quibble was the reinventing mushy peas as dish full of mint and garlic. Yorkshire Caviar is a classic for a reason and needs no new twists. This is only a minor quibble and overall I was thoroughly impressed with the Golden Sands hotel. It's in a great location with even better staff who do the organisation proud. As a newbie to Jersey I was hugely impressed by this verdant island and its people, who were unfailingly respectful and polite. It seems a small point but every teenager I saw getting off a Jersey bus thanked the driver (excellent service btw). And one of the drivers got out of his seat to help an elderly lady across the busy road by a medical centre. These are not, in fact, small points, but indicators of a level of care and respect that are often absent in many places. Well done Golben Sands and well done peplle of Jersey- you impressed this visitor and I'll be back.

Our second visit to this amazing hotel, right on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs, literally ten feet from the beach ! There was a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, free safe, king sized bed, the room was spotlessly cleaned every day. The service from reception to restaurant, bar staff and cleaners was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. My wife left a pair of new shoes in the room and the hotel found them and arranged to courier them to us. Bus stop right outside the hotel. I could go on ! Thank you all.
