Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my third visit to Maison Chaussey and this time travelled with a friend.
We booked a single and a double room which were both comfortable and clean and excellent value. Paul and Steve are great hosts and Pauls breakfasts are exceptional.
Quality sausages bacon and black pudding mushrooms and more make it one of the best breakfasts I've eaten in any hotel or guest house. The dining room looks out to sea and its a great way to start the day. The dining room becomes" Drifters Restaurant"in the evening and rightly deserves its reputation as one the best restaurants on the island. We were able to get a reservation on our first night but it is very popular among the locals and booking is strongly advised. Steve is the chef and is assisted by Paul and Linda . The service is great and everything on the menu is a treat.
The location is good with buses to town and Gorey, close by. It is an easy 12 minute walk into town or walk through the tunnel to the Bus Station. It is only £2 for any single bus journey including the airport.
Thanks Paul and Steve for the great hospitality. I wish you well and best of luck for the future

Excellent staff, great location, we had a really enjoyable stay. It is located right on the seafront and we booked the double superior with the terrace area it was lovely. Walking distance of the beach bus stops and town couldn’t ask for a better location. Very reasonably priced above an excellent restaurant Drifters below. Paul and the cleaning team were extremely polite accommodating and stopped to check in and chat with us regularly. Highly recommend!!

Great atmosphere, owners/workers are so nice, nothings to much for any of them, and the food is so tasty you have to go even for a meal, but it gets very busy so book early, clean rooms and not to far away from the town and on top of the sea, views spectacular,

Fabulous place to stay. Great location, lovely sea views but the best thing the people who own it! Paul was so kind and a fantastic host. Breakfast was amazing! We were here for a conference at the fort, would want to come back here for a holiday to stay! Well done for running such a gorgeous B&B.

My second visit this year to the Maison Chaussey Guest House. Paul, Steve, Linda and the team are fantastic hosts who will go out of their way to help you with anything. A pleasure to stay with them again and hopefully to return again soon.

It's not a hotel, so don't expect too much. Friendly staff, clean linen and rooms, but lacking that little bit extra. The shower unfortunately is probably the biggest let down. We were towards the top of the building and the pressure was almost non existent. Our friends had biscuits in their room, we didn't. The kettle didn't turn off and the vertical blinds were broken. Having said that, it isn't expensive so you really get what you pay for. nice location and I imagine rooms over looking the sea will be quieter than those overlooking the road. It need some significant investment, but there are plans to convert to flats so unlikely to get it, which is a shame. Cheap and cheerful with great breakfasts, but I probably wouldn't go back.

Lovely guesthouse with sea views over Havre de Pas. Paul is a great host.
The rooms are spacious, with fridge and tea making facilities and spectacular views.
Nothing beats waking up to the sound of the tide coming in and having a great breakfast overlooking the sea.

Comfy bed, clean and spacious en-suite. Fridge in room. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Great sea views from the restaurant and rear rooms. Food in the bistro is excellent, popular with locals and holidaymakers you need to pre-book a table.

My wife and I, together with three friends stayed at the Maison Chaussey for a long weekend and we had a wonderful time.
The owners, Paul and Steve, together with Linda and the staff provided a warm welcome and excellent food. Nothing was too much bother from organising taxis and even sending a relative to the other side of the island to retrieve a left behind phone!
Excellent customer service.
The breakfasts are not only generous but are of an excellent quality and include sausages, bacon, Stornaway black pudding, mushrooms,
Tomatoes, hash browns and potato cakes - a great way to start the day - see attached photo.
We stayed in room 2 on the first floor which can sleep 3 people and has its own patio area with excellent views over the bay.
It is a short walk into town and the local bus service is an excellent, low cost way to explore the island.

We stayed here for four nights arriving 1st August, with a sea view room (room 7), the staff were fantastic and the food was even better! The room was standard but what do you want for the price. We will be back! Wes and Elaine.

Breakfast was about £7-8 and was very nice... Hotel about 5 miles from airport.. Island quite small and you are never that far from anywhere....
