My wife and I went to the Blacksmith's Arms for an early dinner on a Friday. The staff were pleasant enough and the venue is okay if a little tired. The food however was very much a return to 1985, massively overcooked vegetables my Dad would have loved, lashings of napalm strength garlic butter smeared on my steak, and an... More

With a hire car the trip from the airport to St Helier was pretty quick, in-spite of lots of traffic, however getting to where we were going was something else. I'd been to Jersey a couple of times before (a long time ago) and was amazed at the volume of traffic on the roads. I'd planned the route to the... More

Stayed for 1 week and found the hotel to be excellent base for touring the island. Staff friendly, room comfortable with two nice chairs, food in Blacksmith Arms good and the breakfast was tasty and cooked to order. Although it states no Wi-Fi in rooms we got a signal in room 8 via the booster that is in the corridor.... More

This hotel is up Trinity Hill, has a large car park which is helpful. No one on reception so note on reception said go to the bar. Stood waiting in a queue to attract someones attention and finally booked in. No smiles, no friendliness, just booked in and handed key. Room fairly spacious, clean and well laid out. See photos.... Our room (8) was very large with quietly situated facing farmland. The Proprietor (Portuguese) seemed to be on duty nearly 24 hours and was extremely friendly and helpful. Free parking and free wi-fi in room and public rooms. Their trademark is extremely hot plates (to the point of being dangerous) with every meal. Fair breakfast choice but no buffet. The... More

Chose this hotel for a four day break with my wife as it was reasonably priced with free on-site parking. With only 10 rooms in total and in a quiet location it suited our needs perfectly. The décor is a little dated, but don't let that put you off as the rooms are very clean and comfortable though I would... More

Small hotel just out of St.Helier, clean and well maintained. Breakfast cooked fresh to order. Adjoining bar and restaurant serving food to a good standard and extensive menu. Popular with locals in early evening.

Visited for 1 week as I had work in St Helier. My first visit to the island and my company booked us into the Oakland's. Absolutely lovely hotel. The rooms are immaculate. Cleaned every day and clean beds. My only comment would be that a little modernisation wouldn't go a miss but apart from that it's perfect. The breakfast is... More
