Reviews summary

The Savoy Jersey offers a mixed bag of experiences according to guest feedback. While the hotel's location is celebrated for its convenience to St Helier's center, opinions on value and room sizes vary, with some guests finding the cost high considering the accommodations. The staff's service garners both accolades for friendliness and criticisms for occasional rudeness.
Cleanliness is generally well-regarded, especially in the rooms, although some areas could benefit from modernization. Amenities, including breakfast options, are mostly appreciated, but guests have suggested improvements.

Detailed Reviews
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. They quickly sorted out the little niggles we had. They provided a non-slip shower mat to cover the rough anti-slip bath strips and replaced the dry rolls that we had during the first evening meal with lovely bread. Breakfast was very good and the bed comfortable.

Stayed for a week. I arrived from a green zone so had to isolate until first test result came back, which was turned around in under 6 hours but essentially meant a night in the room. This wasn’t a problem and staff were up to speed and accommodating.
Room service was provided with the delivery charges waived and breakfast was also delivered to the room for free in the morning. Great service.
After the isolation period had passed, I was able to take advantage of the breakfast bar in the mornings. This is a fantastic offer, there is cooked food, cereals, yoghurts, fruit, pastries and so on.
The room was spotless and cleaned daily, with plenty of tea/coffee in the room and a rather comfy bed.
I didn’t get to experience the pool as it closes at the start of October but it looked nice.
The bar is great and well worth a visit for the great food and to experience the jazz night. Will definitely stay again!

We stayed here during some crazy weather this past February, and the hotel was lovely. The bedding was comfortable and high quality. The room was large and quiet, and the tea amenities were what we needed when we came in out of the rain. My partner has coeliac and they were able to accommodate gluten free at breakfast.
The one issue we had was probably an assets for others - each of the bathtubs have a very rough edging taped to the bottom of the tub. I'm certain this is to help people avoid slipping when getting in and out of the tub. However, it also meant that I had to basically sit on sand paper when I tried to take a bath rather than a shower. The strips are large enough to be unavoidable, so the bath was impossible. I wished that there was some way to temporarily remove the safety measure from the tub to be able to use it as I have seen in other hotels. I did say something to the manager on duty when we checked out but was told that safety came first.

+1
The hotel is ideal for a short break in Jersey, situated 15 minutes walk from Liberation Square and its multiple bars and restaurants and an even shorter walk to the beach & petit teen terminal.
The main hotel areas are very modern and stylish and the hotel bar has an amazing selection of 225 gins!
The upper floor corridors to the rooms perhaps need some redecoration, as do the doors into the bedrooms which are chipped and let down the overall modern look. The rooms themselves are clean but the dark wood is a little dated. Wi-fi is as strong in the bedroom as in the main areas. The lift decor was great!!
Breakfast is excellent, with a very good range of hot & cold foods and the large spacious breakfast dining room looks out onto the swimming pool.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly & helpful, always prepared to arrange taxis or assist with bookings.
The hotel bar had live music on the Friday and Saturday evenings which was very enjoyable and whilst we didn’t eat in the 1840 restaurant, we saw some food being served which looked very good.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider staying at the hotel again.

I will be honest and admit we booked this hotel as it seemed to represent superb value for money compared with most on the Island. I was a little concerned as some reviews would have you believe all was not well at the hotel and that it had been sold for redevelopment, hence the very reasonable rates.
Well, we were reassured on arrival and first impressions were very positive. The hotel entrance is in keeping with its name, quite grand, bright with a high standard of fittings, the reception area is very welcoming as are the reception staff. WE arrived very early due to flight times and the staff took our luggage to look after while we went into town to while away an hour or two, we were promised a phone call when room was ready, which duly arrived as we returned and rested in the beautiful hotel lounge.
Our rooms were on the ground floor (58,59) larger than average and very well equipped as was the large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and made for a good night's sleep. the one gripe we have is that we asked for 'walk 'in showers and were assured that was the case but for some reason that was not the case, i believe it was a case of the term being lost in translation rather than any ignoring of our request.
Breakfast was fine, plenty of choice and the 'gluten 'free member of our party was looked after very well, any request for an item not to hand, like porridge, scrambled egg was soon catered for at our request.
The hotel is about 15 mins walk from town centre and harbour but there is a bus stop right outside hotel for those who need it, number 5.
The hotel offers a high-end dining experience in a restaurant with a lovely ambience, afternoon teas also on offer i believe, although we tended to eat out when we were exploring the island.
We got around using the local buses so have no gripes about car park charges, to be honest we would not complain anyway as they seem reasonable given parking charges on the island in general. you can travel anywhere on the island by bus, best to buy daily passes or 'charge 'card, be warned all journeys are a flat rate 2.50. (1.85 using prepaid card) regardless of distance, no return tickets. so, to town and back would cost same as trip to the furthest part of island and back.
our only negative about our stay, and i only mention this to identify a possible 'training' need is that our room was not serviced one day, and the hospitality tray was not replenished two days, also sheets not changed after 3 nights as mentioned in brochure. This more an individual failing rather than hotel fault, another issue was 'unpleasant' noise from guest returning early hours from night outs, this also not the fault of hotel but lack of respect from inconsiderate guests.
All in all, the 'Savoy' is a cut above the average, represents superb value for money, and i sincerely hope that the rumours surrounding its future prove to be unfounded, it has a special ambience and deserves to succeed, i wish all concerned well and hope to return one day.

We stayed for 2 nights. The overview is just OK. It tries to look good but the filthy front stair carpet lets it down as do the two dead trees and dead roses at the front. The room was OK but mold around the bath was unacceptable. The bath shower door did not reach the top of the bath meaning the floor had a large puddle after every use. The staff advised we could use the pool facilities to change our clothes when leaving at the end of our stay, making out there was a changing room but when asked again they meant the hall toilet. There is a pamplet in the room saying you can extend the room to 5pm for £50.00 but they told us we could not and another room would be at full day rate. The following day they said they were fully booked which all sounded disingenuous when it was obvious th hotel was not nearly fully booked. A member of staff had come into our room when we were at breakfast and moved the patio furniture but then left the door so that anyone could have pushed the door and come in. We had drinks vouchers on arrival which we were told were for single shots & mixers and for gin we could choose Bombay or Gordons but when we tried to order the following day it was only Gordons. A staff member said we could sit in the lounge to have our drinks and asked for our orders as we were in the reception area, we said we would wait for our friends first. Later the staff member would not take our order in the lounge and said we could only order at the bar. When we aproached the bar to make an order a staff member rushed at us to remove us from the bar and was abrupt until we explained we were ordering for another room! May I suggest the staff are advised to be more consistent and close bedroom doors and perhaps try to be helpful. Overall I felt the staff did not care at all about guests, they nearly said the right words but it was very obviously not in any of their demnours. I underestand that the island is understaffed due to Brexit but that does not excuse blatant unhelpfulness.

Stayed at the Savoy for my 50th Birthday, the staff were very friendly and welcoming right from the start, beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable. The room was clean, nice and airy, bed very comfortable, the bathroom was really clean with lovely fluffy towels and the toiletries were really lovely smelt fabulous so much so I’m looking to buy the range online. All amenities in the room even a fridge. The breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from and barista style coffee. Did not use the pool as we were out visiting family. The restaurant and bar was great we enjoyed a meal in the restaurant on the Friday evening which had a Jazz band for entertainment the menu was varied and the food was plentiful, delicious and could not fault in anyway the waiter staff were very friendly and made you feel special. Would recommend staying here and will consider staying here again when visiting family. The main town is a 10 minute walk away and there is local buses from the liberation bus station 10 minutes walk from the hotel everybody is so friendly in Jersey so if you happen to get lost just ask. There’s a bus tour too around the Island with stop offs for breaks, photos , coffee and Lunch which can be booked through the hotel reception.

We booked a classic double room, which was rather small although it had a good size balcony, but this is only of value if you have good weather. There is no aircon so we had to leave the window open and as were at the front of the hotel, this was rather noisy. However the room was very clean, comfortable and had tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a good size, brightly lit which helps when putting in contact lenses. The bath had an overhead shower and there was a good flow of water. Breakfast is free and generally good, I would have liked more fresh fruit and French breads but it had everything you would expect. The staff were attentive and quick to clear dirty plates. The reception is rather tucked away which reduces contact when returning to the hotel. The hotel is on a rather busy road and is a 15 minute walk into the centre and most restaurants. Overall a pleasant stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a lovely stay. The ensuite room was clean and comfortable and a had a fridge which was a great touch. The room was very quiet and we heard little noise. We had a very peaceful stay. All the toiletries were good quality and plenty of them. Breakfast was included in buffet style and it was very nice. Fried eggs were in the buffet but you could ask for scrambled eggs made to order if wanted. There was a good selection in the continental buffet also. The staff at breakfast were attentive, helpful and very professional. We had dinner in the restaurant on our last night and it was beautifully presented, roasting hot and delicious. The waiting and bar staff are lovely, especially Figaro ,who chatted and made sure we had everything we needed. We did not enjoy the jazz music but that is just our personal choice. The background music playing int he background was more to our taste and we did enjoy that chill out music. Good choice in the bar of various alcoholic drinks. There is a large lounge area for reading or chatting and chilling.
The hotel is just a short walk to the town and the bus services in Jersey are excellent. We used the bus to and from the airport and it was a great service.
The whole hotel experience was worth the money and although the menu and drink prices we thought were a little more than usual, it was worth the whole experience.
We would definately plan to stay again in the future.

We loved the hotel, the rooms were well equipped which meant packing for a plane trip alot easier without the worry of carrying liquids and space for hairdryer etc.
We had a small room however it did not feel small and it was very comfortable.
Breakfast had a good choice and cooked very well.
The staff were very helpful and helped us arrange a car hire.
We had a lovely meal and drinks in the bar along with live music so we found this very enjoyable.
The hotel felt very safe and clean with regards to Covid

The 'Suites'. There are only two of these so far as I could tell, at the front of the hotel.
No I don’t think it’s open or heated
Yes, there are hairdryers in the rooms
Yes a good lift just by reception.
