Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband & I booked the Almorah Hotel from reviews that previous guests had added. I must say the hotel did not disappoint . Comfortable , clean with an excellent bathroom. This hotel is B&B and the breakfast was excellent . Choice of fruit juices , cereals , fruit salad & cooked breakfast . Lovely ! The hosts Carlos & Silvina , make you feel so welcome and they make sure they look after you during your stay . Nothing is too much trouble . This hotel does not have a lift and is over 4 floors . If you have mobility problems they have a ground floor room and a few rooms on the 1st floor which you can request . This hotel is immaculate and we enjoyed our stay so much we have already booked our stay at the Almorah for next year . With much thanks to our hosts for making our stay so very memorable .

The best hospitality I have ever experienced at a hotel . Carlos and Silvina work hard to ensure all their guests have a wonderful stay . It is an exceptionally clean hotel . Beautiful decor . Very comfy bed .The breakfast is superb with an option to have a freshly cooked English breakfast . Yes, it is uphill, a little out of the town centre but well worth the effort and you then have great views over St Helier . . Great to have a spacious fridge in the bedroom and an option to buy very reasonably priced wine, beers , water and snacks .A lovely lounge and outdoor terrace where you have your own drinks and food if you prefer . Recommend without hesitation .

I can honestly say that this was the best hotel we have stayed in! The walk up the hill was tiring and they don't have a lift or provide evening meals BUT that didn't seem to matter as everything else was excellent! The decor, the cleanliness, the staff all made our nearly two week holiday one to remember. The beds were comfy too which is a great help when you have spent the day exploring Jersey. Breakfast was very good with a choice of cereal, juices, fruit to start followed by either a continental breakfast or full English. Even then you could have a variation if you didn't want everything. We can't wait to go back in a few years!

Having just returned once again from 14 nights at the beautiful Almorah Hotel, we can only repeat what we have said in our earlier Almorah Hotel reviews. Carlos and Silvina are the perfect hosts, who always - with their staff - go out of their way to make your stay absolutely wonderful. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and are always spotlessly clean. The front facing rooms have a lovely panoramic view over St. Helier and beyond. The decor of the hotel is perfect, and has a relaxing atmosphere throughout, with a lovely lounge, and a beautifully kept terrace garden at the front, ideal for relaxing at any time of the day. Breakfast offers a wide choice to suit all, from "full English" to continental and more, in a lovely, spacious dining room. We really can't recommend the Almorah Hotel highly enough. We have stayed numerous times here, and the standards have always been excellent. Thank you once again, Carlos and Silvina, and we are so looking forward to visiting Jersey and staying with you again this September.

Beautiful, chamber hotel with tasty breakfast, comfortable room, great location. Room was perfect! Really comfortable, big bed, new bathroom, small fridge and the bonus of a balcony (with really nice view). Hotel is small but if you’re looking for a place when you can rest and enjoy the peace and silence- this hotel is for you. Very clean. Staff is extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast is really tasty, big choice of continental breakfast plus full English. Internet is working perfect. We really enjoyed our stay in Almorah Hotel! Highly recommended!

This hotel is situated in a quiet location, high above the town with rooms at the front having lovely views over the town & to the sea. It is conveniently close to bus routes, or is a mile walk into the centre of town. The hotel is absolutely immaculate, with decor that sensitively matches the period property, but everything is very up-to-date with sockets, wi-fi, etc. Everywhere was kept pristinely clean with thorough cleaning in all areas daily. The breakfasts were excellent and the service second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were extremely professional, efficient and yet friendly. The little garden at the front was a delightful place to sit and whilst the hotel had no bar or restaurant, they were only too happy to provide crockery/glasses etc for eating/drinking food purchased elsewhere. Our room was beautifully decorated, with extremely comfortable beds and tasteful furniture. We would highly recommend The Almorah - its 2 star status does not reflect the incredible 5-star service which it provides. We had a superb 5 night stay and it surpassed in every way the 3 star hotel in Guernsey which we moved onto for the second half of our holiday.

What a lovely hotel. it is a 15minute walk from the centre of St Hellier but is well worth it. Our room was on the top floor, but we had great views over the town. The room was spotlessly clean and very spacious with a nice bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful A great breakfast is served with a good choice of cereals, fruits and yoghurts followed by a tasty, cooked breakfast.

We enjoyed.a very pleasant stay at this delightful hotel. The staff were very hospitable and the bedroom was comfortable. There was a lovely big lounge that overlooked a small but lovely front garden. We were delighted to make this choice.

Wow where to start. This may be a 2 star hotel (due to its facilities and lack of lift) but the staff clearly take pride in what they do and provide a 5 star experience. Every space was clean and looked after to high standards. All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much hassle. Lots of options for breakfast- cereals, fruit, pastries, yogurts, cold meats, cheese and a cooked breakfast. All delicious! Stayed in a twin room on the top floor which had incredible views! Well worth the five flights of stairs! Some of the rooms lower down have less stairs and other features such as balconies so do phone them up if you have a preference. The room was clean, well kept, comfortable and had all the essential amenities (fridge with reasonably charged drinks/snacks, hair dryer, fan). The room was freshened every day and everything topped up and clean towels given. Communal lounge and garden area are lovely to sit in. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you to all the wonderful staff for a fantastic stay. Top tips: - Get a taxi to and from hotel. It is just easier with cases and to get bearings. Don’t prebook from airport as there are always loads around and it is cheaper not to book. - The hotel is on a hill. Hence the wonderful views! Can get the Number 5 bus from the blue dot (on the map photo I have added) to Liberation Station/St Helier. We usually made the 9:25am one (Mon-Fri) but times change so do check this! There is a Jersey bus tracker app where you can type in the stop number (painted on the road) and track when the next buses will be and see them coming on the map. The bus service is very good and can buy passes either on board or from the main station. Depending on where you are going the buses are often hourly so check before you want to go/plan to head back to avoid waits. Loads of buses from Liberation Station to Gorey side of the island (beautiful side to visit!). Number 19 also stops near hotel but not as easy as number 5. - You can walk to or back from St Helier/Liberation Station but takes 15-20 mins and is a steep uphill walk back up to hotel. - Book dinner reservations in advance if you know where you are going for the day/later on in the week. We found many places fully booked or closed due to staffing so it was often hard to find somewhere to eat.

Myself and my partner have just returned from a lovely 4 day stay in Jersey, staying at the Almorah Hotel, St Helier. Firstly, personally I don't feel 2 stars is enough for this lovely, small, friendly accommodation. The room we stayed in was a Superior Double Room which was on the top floor and gave stunning views across the whole of St Helier and out to the sea. Everything was spotlessly clean, modern and fresh and we were delighted to have replenished drinks daily in our fridge (chargeable, but for such a fair and pretty low price!) The breakfast was a cold continental buffet style from cheeses, pastries, yoghurt etc, and you could also then have a freshly cooked full English breakfast that was piping hot and served with a smile. This leads us onto the staff at the Almorah Hotel. What can we say other than they were so welcoming and friendly. The two ladies who worked at breakfast were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I even asked if they had any marmite....the next day a little pot of marmite was already on our table before we came down....it really is the small things that make the best impressions sometimes! So, if you are after a friendly, clean and very affordable hotel where nothing seems to be too much trouble, don't think twice about giving this hotel a go. 10 out of 10. To the staff at Almorah, thank you so much. We will definitely be back!! Mark and Paul :)
