Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We really had a struggle finding hotels with two rooms available as my friend and I like our own Space. Also we wanted to stay some where with a pool
Villa Nova said we could use a swimming pool nearby

It was only after payment was taken my friend was contacted and told the hotel with the pool was closed due to covid but it was too late to cancel flights

On arrival we looked around and followed the signs to the bar and lounge. These doors were now signed private so no facilities at all.
We did have tea and coffee in our rooms . I had one Hangar in my room but thought I would not bother the owner on the 1st night as you have to ring the bell to get someone to come to the entrance hall. The next day we went out about 9am no one around so we went out for the day. By the 3rd day morning I did speak to the owner and my room was cleaned but still no more hangars.
Lovely park just opposite but not that close to town. Take a map you will need it.

Road very noisy garden not what you would sit in as no cushions or sunbeds. All concrete fountain not used. Nowhere to order a drink so we went out all day and just slept there.
Stayed August 2021.

Stayed here for seven nights overall we enjoyed our stay. Rooms cleaned daily tea and coffee topped up each day. Rooms a little dated on the decor but fine. The breakfast was excellent. Space for 4 cars on the front but more parking available at the sister Hotel the Norfolk only 100 metres away. The road outside does get busy at times some noise but not a deal breaker. Only 10 minute walk to town centre lots of restaurants and bars nearby would stay here again. Kind regards Darren and Wendy Smith

I have travelled world wide and this is possibly the worst place I have stayed in Western Europe. I have stayed in worse, but these have been in central, east and West Africa . The room was clean and the bed comfortable but it was very, very old and dated and just not nice.

The guest house was average.. A good location. Clean and tidy. The staff member on the other hand was an angry, unforgiving person. I made a mistake regarding the entry code and she lost it. Fortunately It was only one night stay. I would not use the villa nova again or recommend it to anyone.

Excellent value for money. For a 1 star hotel it was very good indeed.Spotlessly clean, the rooms were very comfortable and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our fellow guests were fairly elderly, but that seemed to be the case on most of the island, and in all honestly, so what?. The sister hotel (the Norfolk) was also very good. Excellent staff and the evening meal there was good as well. Beautiful Island. Would definately go again. The only downside was 90% of restuarants were very expensive with similar menus, and lots of focus on 3 course set menu's which you don't always want. Problem solved by Bella Italia and the Norfolk.
Public Transport was good.Everything was on time, and the people were generally helpful and friendly. Highlights of the holiday Gorey Castle, St Brelades Bay, Howard Davis Park, and the staff at both the Norfolk and the Villa Isis.

Room Tip: Maybe better at the back, due to a main road outside, but we didn't notice it being too loud.

On arrival we were met by John the manager The rooms were very clean & tidy although the furniture is a bit dated. The hotel is well laid out with a lovely courtyard at the back. Breakfast sets you up for the day John is always so helpful and quite a laugh in the evenings when the bar is open. You can book excursions at the hotel and pick up/drop off is right outside.
We went half board taking our evening meal at the sister hotel The Norfolk which is 5 minutes slow walk away. The meals are superb (if you go b & b book the evening meal with John-you won't regret it) Look out for Joseph the head waiter he's such good fun To sum up-If you want a good holiday in Jersey you can't go far wrong booking The Isis & Norfolk We certainly will be back.(considering it is only 1 star We have stayed in a 3 star hotel in England that is NOT a patch on Villa Isis)
Thank you John you made our holiday

Just wanted to say this hotel goes out of its way to make your holiday trouble free. The rooms are spotless. The food lovely and the staff including the owner can't do enough for you. They even book your trips. But if you have to go to the mother hotel, the Norfolk, for your evening meal don't be a slow eater or go half an hour after the dining room opens don 't expect to get a lovely piece of gateau because it will be finished and you can get fruit salad (like you get in a tine here) as they don't refill the plates.

Little disappointed with our holiday to Jersey.
The hotel was OK but we had asked for a room overlooking the park not realizing there is a main road between the hotel and the park opposite. The noise from the road and the water tank which seemed to be constantly filling up over night made us reach for ear plugs.Back rooms look out on the courtyard garden. If you are early to bed you may find this noisy due to drinkers in the lounge.
The room was a good size and bathroom clean. Not much room to make a cup of tea and TV could not get many channels also sound did not work on ITV.
Breakfast was served between 8:30-9:30am. No continental breakfast just cereal, fruit, juice and cooked. Toast could have been toasted longer and brown bread would have been nice.
Steps down to the breakfast room and into the hotel not great if you have problems walking or heavy cases.
Evening meals are optional at the Norfolk Hotel. This looks further away when being dropped off because of the one way system but is only 10 minutes. Staff very friendly food OK but not exceptional but it saves a long walk into Town to find a restaurant.
We were a little disappointed with our first holiday to Jersey. St Helier has a lot to offer but it is also very busy with road traffic. The buses however, were good, and on time, although the explorer gets very busy. The open top buses were really good and we enjoyed the commentary given on the journeys we took. The sea front was not attractive and covered with green. We saw very few people on the beach considering it was the school holiday period.Beaches further around the coast were much nicer. We did use the swimming pool in the Norfolk hotel. No changing rooms available so used the toilet to change in. Free use of loungers and towels.

A cheap hotel that is very good. Room large and quiet (although front of hotel may be noisier) and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful and a good breakfast.
Limited parking if you bring or hire a car. You can park at nearby Norfolk (if you can work out the one way system to get there) but i had a bit of trouble with an unhelpful staff member there when i needed to on the one occassion no space at Isis.
Opposite Howard Davis Park which is nice for a quiet walk.
