Nestled near the seafront and Elizabeth Castle, Grand Jersey Hotel & Spa is lauded for its prime location and exceptionally clean facilities. Guests enjoy a refined atmosphere and commend the professional service, although terrace music and noise can sometimes disrupt the serenity.
While the spa and pool are highlights and rooms are celebrated for their views and cleanliness, issues with room size, noise, and maintenance have been noted. Opinions on value are divided; some guests appreciate the deals but others point out overpriced services.

Stayed a couple of days for husband birthday. We arrived very early about 9am and although check in was not until 3pm they arranged for the room to be house kept early so was able to check in by 11am. This was very helpful as we were very tired. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and for me made the trip special. From evening turndown service to taking bags to your room just add those extra touches that make a stay memorable.

This is a really lovely hotel in a fantastic location just across from the main promenade. It's ideally situated for walks along the beach/promenade but you also can't beat sitting on the terrace with a drink looking out to the sea. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, the room was lovely (we were upgraded to a side sea view) and the spa was spotless and very enjoyable. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and we had a lovely dinner in the bistro. We were due to return in April 2020 but unfortunately this had to be cancelled due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Despite our room booking being on a non-refundable rate, Handpicked hotels changed their cancellation policy which allowed us a full refund if we preferred during these uncertain times, which was above and beyond what was required. This was processed immediately and the customer service that we have received has been second to none. It's what will keep people like myself coming back! We will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel in the future. Highly recommended!

Just back from 4 days staying at this lovely hotel. We asked for sea views and so we were allocated a room on the 2nd floor with its own balcony. Lovely sunny room and very comfortable bed. Loved the Dyson fan in the room to keep cool at night. There was air conditioning but I preferred the fan as it was quiet and it helped me sleep as i get so hot. The hotel is about 20 mins walk from the town centre but there is a free shuttle bus into town offered by the hotel. The Hotel was very covid safe and there was always sanitiser for easy use in all the public areas. Staff and residents wore masks while walking around the hotel. The indoor pools were fabulous and there is a lovely outdoor seating area next to the indoor pools when its sunny. Food was good and it was pleasant to sit on the terrace and have a drink in the evenings as the sun went down. Would most definetly return! and the weather was good too

Dear bisibi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our page. Unfortunately, I believe you may have mistaken us for another property in Jersey. Regrettably, none of our sea facing bedrooms on the second floor have balconies and our indoor pool does not have an outside area to relax in. It could be our sister property L'Horizon Beach Hotel & Spa you describe, although they are further away than a 20 minute walk to town. Should you wish to enjoy a stay with us at Grand Jersey in the future, please feel free to get in touch with me directly. Yours sincerely, Shaun McGachan General Manager

I write this review after trying to order room advice before the cut off time of 10pm. Bear with me however as this is but one grievance I have with what has not been a terrible stay but more of a disappointing one given the false advertisement in which is the five star rating of this hotel.
Having returned home from a lovely meal we fancied something sweet. We rang the number for room service which continued to ring before automatically going through to another department within the hotel and then going to the reception who answered promptly before putting us through to the room service department again and guess what...another 5 minutes of holding on no answer so we gave up.
This prompted me to come onto this site to leave a review amongst other issues we have had during our stay.
This is not a five star hotel. The spa is a nice add on, but the champagne bar is cheap looking, tired and something you would expect from a posh 2 star hotel. Saying this the martini’s they served were very good and I am picky with my martini’s.
The rooms are ok but generic and cheap, the bathrooms small and the shower very inappropriately positioned making it hard to have a shower due to the curves of the bath for standing and the fact that you can not re position the shower head as it’s fixed in one position.
From a 5 star we expect the rooms to be cleared and cleaned daily, with a new towel and robe. We had the same towel and robe. This not a be all and end all but the pizza boxes (empty) we had delved into the night before having ordered after too much wine and excitement leaving us to dine in the hotel room as we were exhausted, were still left on the side and not removed and thrown away. Perhaps because they were stacked neatly and that I had folded the bed and made sure the room was in a respective condition (ocd) the cleaner thought we wanted to keep the pizza boxes???!
I am picky I admit and having the privilege of staying in many nice hotels (it’s always the highlight of my stays in different places) I chose this for the star rating. Having visited an old haunt which is the St Brelades Bay Hotel earlier in the day (which is a four star I add) where I stayed many a time in past years the quality of everything is superior to The Grand Jersey Hotel. Table clothes for a starters, the chandeliers the service, the wooden staircase and quality of the sofas, tables, wooden bar and must I go on...this is more like a 5 star and finely tuned way above the tatty inferior The Grand Jersey Hotel,
If choosing a hotel for the price (we did get it for cheap and it was rather good value) then this hotel is ok. We planned to frequent other hotels but they were booked (is that a sign?) but the hotel served a purpose and I am grateful for that however I would highly recommend you stay at the Longueville Manor or St Brelades amongst others if you want a bit of luxury on your visit rather than a bit of average which is the supposedly five star Grand Jersey Hotel

Positives: Had a lovely ocean suite with lots of space (however no balcony with the suite). The rooms had everything could need from ironing board to water. The hotel is so close to the beach (across road) and 5 mins walk into the city so ideal location. There is a great outdoor bar / screens for the sport in good weather. The staff were also so friendly could not rate them highly enough.
Negatives: The hotel is on a very busy main road which did not appreciate from the pictures / however as I say great location. The breakfast service was awful, so many staff but not organised and very chaotic. I gave up asking for things (like toast or a coffee as rarely arrived). When the food did eventually arrive it was good. There was no hot water / water for nearly 24hours and had arrived from the UK / been to the gym and beach was desperate for a shower. The only option was to have a very cold shower in the spa the following day - was offered 10% off the bill but as had pre bought spa treatment and accommodation this was about £7 (after asking was upped to £20). Not sure this is good enough compensation for a room that was nearly £300 per night with no water and impacting my first night as couldn’t go out covered in sand and sweat!

Dear Cruiser08474091628, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your recent stay with us. It was great to see you enjoyed our location and the suite as well. Thank you for your kind words regarding the team, I know they will be really happy to see your comments on them. Our Food & Beverage Manager will pick up your comments on breakfast with the team. Please do accept my apologies for the loss of water to the hotel. Jersey Water responded very quickly to try and restore this back to us as quickly as possible. There is never a good time for these type of maintenance issues to occur and regrettably this impacted you. As a senior management team we were available throughout the loss of water as well as the morning after and it is a shame we did not get to speak face to face. You are more than welcome to contact the hotel directly, if you wish to discuss your feedback further with us and I do hope we are able to welcome you back again in the future. Yours sincerely, Shaun McGachan General Manager

Stayed here a few times so know what to expect.
We had a nice room with side view, clean, big enough and comfortable, beds are a bit hard.
We like the gym and pool, girl on desk awlays freindly.
Breakfast is as always only just OK, my husband prefers a cooked breakfast but its average at best, products seem cheap, stayed away from that area, cereal, fruit & yogurts are fine and stuck with boiled eggs though some mornings a long wait, toast OK, tea not great.
Had a quick bite one evening service not that freindly and food was nice enough.
Drinks were good and served chilled, we used the area outside on the Friday, service fine and there was a DJ so good to hear music.
Was planning to have one night with room service and watch a movie but no Netflix, Amazon or iPlayer available, which is poor for a 5 star hotel, (which I dont think it is really ) they lost our custom and we went out instead.
Housekeeping was fine and requested additional water & T Bags and this was always done for us.
The localtion is very good for us.
I would stay here again as we have done in the past, but again it is not a 5 Star Hotel, think it needs some updates.

The Grand hotel was booked for our first family holiday and birthday celebrations but sadly was a disappointing overall experience. Especially as this was our first time revisiting jersey in over 30 years. The room overlooked a wall with pigeon droppings on the sil when you opened the window which you had no choice but to do as it was claustrophobic and dark. I’m shocked that rooms like this are even offered to guests at a hotel that is advertised as “5 star”. A fridge, Bottled water, tea making facilities, robes, slippers and lovely towels are provided, however most guests booking would expect this to be included. The main highlight was the food especially breakfast. Plenty of choice and the staff were very friendly, efficient and accommodating. However this did not transfer over to all front of house staff who on occasions made you feel like you were bothering them. When you come away on holiday, you want to feel relaxed and looked after. Cocktails were exceptional and bar staff and seating area very nice. Although note it does overlook a road. We hired cars however the hotel carpark was considerably smaller than expected and awkward to use especially when there are functions on. The lifts as mentioned in other reviews needs some attention. It had old charm but was extremely dusty. The hotel location is central, within walking distance to the shops, the harbour and restaurants but St Helier is much more like a city now than our memories of a seaside town. We had been out all day on our last day of our Holiday and were looking forward to getting ready for dinner but our room was the only one of our floor not to have been cleaned or fresh towels provided despite the sign on the door. When I enquired this was not dealt with appropriately or efficiently which was very disappointing. Our transfer to the airport which was included in our booking was extremely late for pick up with no explanation or apology and the driver was exceptional rude which left a very sour note to the end of our trip. The Grand I’m sure once was very grand and has lots of potential but sadly this was not our experience.

Dear julesk18, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your recent stay with us. It was a shame to see you left disappointed due to a number of areas, but glad to see there were elements you enjoyed. If for any reason, a guest is not happy with the bedroom they have been allocated the team will do all they can to try and resolve any concerns you may have. I have reviewed our feedback logs and disappointingly cannot see that you shared your comments with us whilst at the hotel so we had opportunity to address this for you. I can see you were in one of our Park View Classic rooms and whilst your feedback regarding a wall being covered in droppings and the room being claustrophobic is new to us, will take your feedback on board. It is true, that St Helier like many other coastal towns, does have changes that have taken place over the past 30 years. As much as we may want places to stay as we remember them, sometimes it just is not possible and is not something we have control over. It was a shame to read about your included transfer being late. As this is not a service booked or provided by us, is not something we can comment further on. Despite your disappointments, I appreciate you making mention of the bar team and the cocktails they provided for you and glad to see that the food was a highlight, especially breakfast. All feedback is shared with the team and I appreciate you sharing your experience. Thank you again for your feedback. Yours sincerely, Shaun McGachan General Manager

As part of our staycation, we booked overnight at this hotel. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff including Hugo who has previously been recognised locally for his customer service and pleasant manner. We had a room on the side overlooking the beach towards St Aubins and the nearby park so watched a lovely sunset over the bay. The hotel is a must if you want to watch the annual Air Display in September but book early as extremely popular. The room was ample in size with usual amenities and a decent size bathroom. As it was a beautiful sunny evening, we took drinks on the outside terrace and received very good service from Mario. Although the hotel has fine restaurant in Tassili, the hotel is on a very good bus route so we took the opportunity to catch the no 15 to St Aubins for the evening. Bus route out and return were within a very short walk of the hotel. For non locals, the bus terminus is not far away and nor is the main shopping areas of St Helier. We didn't use the spa facilities or pool but the COVID measures in place seemed very good and certainly guests were using them. Breakfast was excellent with cereal and fruit choices followed by a good choice of freshly cooked eggs/bacon/pancakes etc. Eggs Benedict was very good as was the scrambled egg with smoked salmon. Enjoyed our overnight staycation and will stay again.

Dear Wayne G, Thank you for your review following your staycation with us. I am glad to see you enjoyed your stay with us overall and our Park View rooms certainly do enjoy the beautiful sunset each evening. It certainly felt strange this year with no Air Display celebrations but despite this not taking place, we have still experienced quite a busy week. It is great to see your comments on breakfast as well the COVID measures we have in place. I know the team will be pleased to see your comments, especially Hugo, Mario and the breakfast teams. The hotel is in a good location. Walking distance to town.
Due to shortage of staff there was no housekeeping. The guests had to say what drinks & towels they required during their stay & had to fill up a form. Why does the guest have to decide & request for these items . Housekeeping should replace cups every day & not use the same cups everyday . Dirty towels should be removed every day rather than be in the room . Towels should be replaced every alternate day without the guest request.
The rooms looked tired. The shower door cant be opened or closed if the bath towel is next to the shower-subsequently the floor is all covered in water and the bath towel is totally wet. There should be a handle in the shower for the elderly to hold & prevent them from slipping.
Food in the Champagne bar is expensive .
Buffet breakfast was good and had a wide choice of food Service was good & staff very friendly.

Food in the Champagne bar is expensive .
Buffet breakfast was good and had a wide choice of food Service was good & staff very friendly.
