Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed here for a week in August to be honest this is not a hotel it is a lodging house for local people we were the only tourists there as far as I could see. its past its sell by date and if Jersey tourism were doing their job right they would make the owner update the place or ban him from advertising it as holiday accommodation its rough bathroom has a constant smell shower sink etc needs to be in a skip somewhere they are done the mirror was also skip material the spoons were rusted towels were like sand paper paper thin and frazzled around the edges its a joke dont stay here I say a joke but its no joke when you travel here for a weeks holiday pleasure and you are presented with this we met some people when we were out and about and were embarrassed when they asked where we were staying one night when we were on our way back some people we met earlier on had stopped out side the hotel we hung back and waited till they moved on before swiftly getting in the front door which had masking tape around the windows the masking tape and the half stripped door were a mess and seemed to have been in that state for weeks as the tape was old and discolored AVOID

This B&B does exactly what it says - it is dated decor wise but if you are looking for excellent hosting skills, a warm and comfortable place to stay you can't go wrong with this charming B&B. My room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, plenty of hot running water and a decent breakfast. One of the key things that really impressed me was the outstanding cleanliness of the place. Every day fresh towels, bed remade and room cleaned. Great location 10 mins walk from St Helier but opposite a beach.

This was a poor choice of accommodation in Jersey My double room was threadbare carpets, very dated furnishings ,with a set of bunkbeds taking up a very limited space in the room The ensuite bathroom sported a drone like extractor fan that rattled on for a full 20 minutes every time you entered the ensuite this was very annoying and disturbing It was a stay not to be repeated

We have just returned from 4 night stay. Huge comfortable room, en-suite was small with funny smell Breakfast was plentiful Hosts are really nice Only thing I would say would be nice would be a little fridge in rooms to keep water etc cool as it gets very warm. It is a bit dated but still nice and welcoming Good location right opposite beach

Ok place, well situated. Very dated decor. Check-in takes 10 mins whilst they take your breakfast order. Bedroom huge & comfy bed but very small shower/toilet with strange smells emanating from it & also had to play around inside toilet cistern to fill it after flushing. Breakfast pretty good & lots of it, shame no background music or tv to mask the sounds of people munching & slurping. All in all ok £50 a night if you watch "Four in a bed" Hosts were very good though

I agree with other reviews it does need updating, but it was clean warm and the breakfast was plentiful. View from the balcony was beautiful The property is near to local pubs shops and a short 15min walk in to the centre of St helier

I have just returned from Havelock. It was a bit dated but once inside the place was clean, A very good ensuite, Breakfast was also very good. It is probably not suitable for disabled persons unless you can get a room on the ground floor. All in all it was very good, and the staff could not do enough for you.

I booked in here for one night. I got to the b&b and rang The bell, then rang the bell, then rang the bell. After a few minutes. A guy with a cigarette in his hand opened the door. I was taken In to a side room when I met a gent who booked me in. I was given 11A. I was taken to my room. The lady who took me left and I looked around and decided I needed to leave. It was dirty and dusty, mould up the walls and windows with Dust everywhere. I spoke to the gent who did not care. Told him I am leaving and handed my key back. I was told to get out and a few other words. I left and found another hotel not far away which was 10 times better

i hate writing bad reviews when the staff are actually nice and cheerful so i will be as honest and gentle as i can. unfortunately first impressions last and our first impressions were awful. when we first arrived with our 2 year in tow we did so with a little bit of trepidation as we had seen other reviews on here.on arriving through front door we were hit with the smell of must and slight smokey smell. the gent checking us in seemed pleasant enough but then all hell hit loose.A young guy who had obviously booked a single room but had his girlfriend staying with him had been caught out but then the owner decided to tell us the girl was 12 or 15 he didnt know.well this young guy heard this and preceded to threaten to smash every window in. in this guys defense his girlfriend was old enough to be the mother of a 12 year old let alone be 12.while this was all kicking off our young child got upset so i asked other member of staff to just check us in.we then took upstairs to our room while world war 3 carried on downstairs and my heart sank as we were shown to the infamous room 5.the smell of smoke hit us in the hall as we opened door but to be fair the room didnt really smell.i think the problem occurs because the 2 rooms oppisite have a outside balcony so if wind is in wrong direction it blows in. also our room is directly over a outdoor area which im guessing people smoke in. numerous niggles were..lock on door couldnt be locked from outside, net curtains had holes in,musty smells, remote control had no back so batterys constantly out, noisy extractor fan takes a age to go off,no physical light switch in bathroom...i could go on.but it was clean and beds extremely comfy. with regards to breakfast it was plentiful and you wont go hungry but its not the tastiest.the staff are very friendly and welcoming but the whole guesthole needs a overhaul but then i suppose they would have to put prices up.so if you get a cheap offer and decide to stay here be aware...DO NOT ENTER ROOM 5
