A wonderful hotel with great staff. Food is excellent and rooms comfortable and well decorated. There is a small outdoor swimming pool set in the fantastic and well manicured gardens. This is the type of hotel frequented by the Jersey locals which says a lot about the quality and service.

Superb location, quiet and relaxing, good food and excellent staff. Would highly recommend a stay here. Swimming pool perhaps a little small but the facilities offered were very good. I would not hesitate to return to the hotel and looking forward to a future visit.

A delightful Sunday luncheon experience spoiled by a restaurant manageress that treated us with disdain. A table for 3 and Sunday lunch. Two dined from the Al la carte menu and one from the set menu. The food and service were excellent. However, when I reviewed the bill before payment, I noted that there was a charge of £12.50 for a cheese platter. This was incorrect as the cheese platter was part of the set menu. I politely pointed this out to the waiter, who took the bill away and returned with the same bill saying that the restaurant manageress had not charged for the pineapple, which was on the a la carte menu? The manageress then approached and her manner was simply awful. Her opening gambit was ‘I don’t want to argue’, and then continued to dig a deeper hole, giving excuses from, the waiter didn’t know who had the cheese and from which menu, we have been very busy; maybe we should only serve the set menu; It was totally unprofessional. When I asked if there was a price difference between the cheese platter & the pineapple, it was received with tuts and eye rolling. The lady didn’t know and went back to reception to check the bill and the prices. When the bill was returned, it had been corrected and was now £4 less. The money is not the issue, it is the way in which the matter was handled and how we were spoken to. We will not be returning. Finally, the table adjacent to ours had a similar ‘mistake’ on the bill, which was handled with no fuss by the waiter.

This beautiful hotel set in the wonderful Jersey countryside is the perfect retreat. Our week-end break was far too short and we would love to return to appreciate all that this hotel has to offer. Given all the challenges the last 18 months have presented, we could see how hard the staff worked (and there are staff shortages world-wide, not just on Jersey!) - they did amazingly well and certainly did everything to make our stay welcoming, comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended for the perfect country house experience.
