This is a good friendly hotel. We had two rooms; one was a superior room - very space with a bath and the second a good sized double with a small balcony. We found the staff generally to be very friendly and helpful if you needed assistance. In particular, we found most of the waiting staff, particularly a male who was not working at the weekend, to be very good. We felt the breakfast exceeded what we had expected as a hotel for its quality. We were a little disappointed on our final morning (Saturday) as every other day chef had cooked some excellent poached eggs and had prepared an avocado so I could have crushed avodado and tomato on toast with poached eggs on toast, but on this morning I was advised they did not do this.

We also found the barman a little surly one evening when we decided to have a cocktail in the bar after having gone into town for dinner - this was disappointing as we had deliberately chosen to return to the hotel earlier this particular evening rather than staying for a drink at the restaurant where we had had dinner. It felt as if we had inconvenienced him by making him stay until 11pm which is when the bar closed - we had returned to the bar before 10.30pm and he then closed the bar as soon as we had ordered and told us to turn off the lights when we had finished our drink.

Other than this the stay was very good; the price very reasonable and location is good for walking into St Helier town centre (or getting a bus if you feel unable to manage the slight incline). We would return again if the above issues could be addressed.

We booked a sea view and paid extra it was a nice big room with 3 beds in it, it is on the main road and the car park is very small hard to park as most cars were SUV size and hung over the marked places, didn’t find the traffic noise a problem but we did keep windows closed. Very clean and comfy beds plenty of tea coffee and milk provided. Breakfast is good but very slow to replenish have to keep asking and the bar is 5- 9.30 !!! Think that’s bit early!! Staff were very pleasant. Downside possibly because of Covid everywhere seems empty no atmosphere anywhere.

First time in Jersey and Hotel de Normandie. The staff at the hotel were excellent , friendly , professional and helpful. The food was so good we ate at the hotel 3 out of the 4 nights we were there. the chicken curry was different but outstanding . The dining room has a really lovely chilled atmosphere with great seating , good background music etc ,
The sauna and pool were good . The water was a nice temperature so great for a swim and there is also a hot tub and loungers to relax on . The rooms are bright and comfortable and it’s so nice to hear the sea as you fall asleep .
The beach is across the road snd it’s stunning . Great for a stroll , for kids and the water wasn’t too cold so great fir swimming .
The bus stop is across the road and for 2.10 you can be in st Helier in 5mins ( 2.10 by card. Or 2.50 cash)
To walk into the centre of St Helier is 15-20 mins
No fir the airport you pay 2.10 into St Helier liberation bus station but ask for a transfer ticket to the airport . This ticket MUST be used within an hour but the no 15 bus goes every 15 mins and it doesn’t cost you any more so 2.10 will take you from hotel to airport. Also the other bus stop outside the hotel is where you can jump on a bus to Gorey. harbour etc
Also across the road from the hotel is a small shop where you can get a morning paper etc .
I’d definitely recommend this hotel .

We stayed here for 5 nights in triple rooms. The rooms were a long way from reception and definately kept our steps count up. The rooms were really spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Not sure if it was the sea air or the beds but had the best nights sleep for a long while. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They brought extra towels, cups, a hair dryer, cutlery and even our takeaway pizza to our room. We booked to use the sauna and pool which was lovely and had a drink in the bar area which is spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style and you can order from a selection on the menu such as a full English. Plenty to chose from and we fuelled well for our hectic days. The only thing I would say is if you are a young family then request a quiet room. The noise from the bar was loud if you wanted the windows open (and it was hot in the rooms in June so it was a necessity as no air-con). The bar closed at 9pm so wasn't too bad. It was very good value for money, a little tired in areas but it didn't detract from the plus points. Note the housekeeping can be late in the day, we often were out early and back late afternoon for a snooze and housekeeping arrived, Im sure we could have asked for them to come earlier though. The hotel was close to the beach, about a 15 min walk into St Helier through the back streets and about 5 minutes from the beach lido. Close to the pub and the thai beach hut for food and drink too and there was a mini-supermarket opposite so everything we needed. The bus from St Helier stopped right outside the hotel and the hotel also had bike parking. Would definately stay here again and highly recommend.

I stayed here for one night in February 2020. I had not chosen the hotel as it was selected by a friend and I was staying with them.

The hotel is situated around 15-20 minutes walk from the centre of the town and is stones through from one of the beaches, great for walks and to take the sea air.

Check in was swift and easy and we were allocated a room on the second floor. LASt first the room seemed fine, however it soon became obvious that the room is tired and dated, the double bed was in fact two singles pushed together.

The bathroom was cold and with no window. The shower bath leaked through the curtain and the toilet flush was poor. Cheap complimentary toiletries were in the bathroom. Towels were Ok but thin and as the room was cold they did not really dry during the stay.

Tea and coffee making were in the room but no fridge. TV with local and national channels.

The room. walls are thin and you could people in rooms adjacent and below which I didn't like.

Room heating didn't seem to work and it felt cold and damp with a stale air smell. Te curtains did not fully cover the window at night.

We used the pool area. This needs a complete update and the changing room in particular was horrible. The sauna was ok but needs new flooring. The whole thing was tired and unimpressive with no creature comforts.

Breakfast was the thing that really annoyed me. we paid £10 at the front desk for full breakfast. It was taken in the ground floor restaurant. the two staff serving were awful. On greeting us we were asked how we were, We replied great thanks and you to be told they would be great once they finished work today! That set the mood. We were told off for putting a flattened brea roll into the toasting machine, and we were asked what was wrong with the cooked breakfast that we did not finish. I stated that it was bland and tasteless and not to my taste only to be told I was fussy! Appalling staff attitude.

The front desk staff I have to say were friendly and welcoming and helpful in organising a taxi for my departure.

I would not choose to stay here again and did not enjoy my experience at all.

I have had a 2 night stay here, room only. My room is spacious and warm. Recently refurbished, bathroom included. The 24 hour receipts on staff are friendly and helpful and will supply you with coffee/tea etc at any time. I have seen reviews indicating the place is not clean but I find my room spotless. Comfy bed and lovey clean white towels.
It’s opposite the beach at Havre des Pas, but within easy walking distance to town although buses are frequent and stop outside the hotel

The rooms all need an overhaul and the bathrooms need some decent showers. Getting your luggage up and down the teeny flights of steps that litter the corridors from the lift to the rooms while opening the fire doors in between is an ordeal, but what a fantastically lovely hotel!

Well-designed ground floor with a lounge area with comfy sofas (near the bar - not to be confused with the otherwise also relaxing seating in reception, more seating near the lift, and a quiet lounge, and also some banquets outside the restaurant/breakfast room). The downstairs looks superb and I truly hope they extend this to the rooms in due course.

What made the room not being quite 'right' to the hotel being amazing was the staff. Each member of the team seemed to be operating way above the 'three star' rating and so made everything fine. I've stayed in 'posher' hotels with less competent people running the show. So whoever is doing the hiring, you do a fantastic job.

Big hats off to the lovely guy who ran the breakfasts. Such a nice man full of charm and also to his staff. Such a well-run breakfast service that a hotel of far more stars should be proud of. (

The lovely lady who 'did' the rooms. I just wrote: "Friendly and accommodating". That doesn't sum it up. She was looking after us if that makes sense. She owned what she was doing and we were her 'guests'. Lovely in a totally not patronising way. Don't know who else to explain it.

Ah, reception. Good luck to all the mainly young and aspiring staff on front of house. I hope Hotel de Normandie keeps you to keep it being so very good, despite the need for a bit of a renovation on the rooms, which you have to kind of deal with if stuff goes wrong. All done with grace and charm.

But the bed was comfy and it was all totally seamless and if you aren't a fusspot about little things, not to be confused with fussy, which I very much am and this did not ring any alarm bells for me, then this place is spot on.

In terms of location, Hotel De Normandie is 'this' far from a really lovely beach, a shop that makes you tea and coffee for pennies, a fab pub with two terraces and a decent menu, and it's on a bus route straight into St. Helier in less than ten minutes.

Technically we should have had to self-isolate in Jersey for 5 days because we had travelled across from France on our way home to Guernsey and because of an change of schedule by Condor Ferries we were no longer regarded as being "in transit". The Jersey Health Authorities and Border Agency staff, however, were really helpful/understanding. They contacted the hotel and were assured that we would be welcome to stay there for the one night (until 4.00 a.m. as our ferry to Guernsey was due to leave at 6.00 a.m.) observing social distancing etc.

The staff at the hotel, the receptionist, the restaurant manager, the waitress and the night porter could not have been more helpful and we enjoyed a delicious supper of mussels before trying to get as much sleep as we could before our very early departure. The bedroom was comfortable and all the facilities were spotless. Before we left we were told that we could help ourselves to the breakfast buffet to make up a "picnic" meal to take with us to the ferry.

We will definitely book this hotel when we next visit Jersey.

We arrived before check in and were able to leave our bags and come back later. Would be better if this was more secure and behind reception though.

A fan was provided in the room which came is useful as it was quite warm.
A sea-view room was provided as requested which was a bonus.

Breakfast is 7:30-9:30 and is a good choice of continental buffet (toast machine, cereals, juices, pastries, meat, fruit etc) and a cooked breakfast to order. No faults in my opinion.

Nice indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, although upto 10 people are currently allowed in the facilities at the same time with no real booking facility. I have stayed at other hotels where you can book a 30 minute slot per room which is much safer and more comfortable.

Shower was a bit stiff but other than that the room was fine. Hairdryer was provided. Wi-fi was good.

A bus stop is just across the road which is handy. Otherwise a 15 minute walk to st.helier/liberation bus station.

Had a bit of heat stroke the first day and they didn't have a temperature checker which i thought was strange considering we're in the middle of a pandemic.

My partner and I were originally planning to stay with friends in Jersey but we decided that since it was for four nights we should book a hotel and give them some space. We landed on the Hotel De Normandie in Saint Helier, which was an easy walk to their apartment.
The hotels a bit older but has a lot of charm to it. We found it to have a very welcoming and relaxing environment. Check in was smooth and easy. It was a nice throwback to have an actual key for the bedroom, as opposed to a key card. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We availed of the bath several times to take the edge off after a long day of island exploring.
Breakfast, which was included in our rate, was delicious. There was a great selection and my girlfriend was absoululty enamored with the mushrooms (she’d love the recipe!). The breakfast team were very courteous and provided a pretty zen vibe every morning.
The hotel bar was manned by a friendly bar tender and we had a few pre drinks there before heading out for the evenings.
The location is right next to the coast and an easy 15/20 minute walk into town itself. We went both through the tunnel and around it, finding both routes easy to navigate.
Check out was over in two seconds and we thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience with the hotel.

Yes, there is wi-fi, although in the spring when we visited, we found it could be very patchy (might depend on your provider, as we only used our phones). Reception will give you the code when you arrive.
