We stayed in cottage number 7 with our five month old daughter and had a lovely week in Guernsey. The cottage was perfect for what we needed and was really well equipped, we especially appreciated the washing machine, pegs and airer. There was a lovely welcome pack when we arrived (guernsey milk, cheese, bread, butter, tomatoes) which was very generous and helpful to get us started. All the staff and Fiona and Simon were really helpful and answered any queries we had. We stayed an extra night and had a late check out to accommodate our ferry crossing and this really made things easier for us with our young baby daughter. Fiona was so helpful and understanding. The mid week clean and freshen up was also really lovely. The cottages are in a great location, close to local amenities and St Peter port and some beaches within walking distance. We particularly loved Fermain bay. We loved our week in Guernsey and will definitely be back to stay at The Ellingham cottages again next year.

We travelled with our son and his wife, plus their 6-year old son. The cottage (number 9) was ideal for us - well furnished with three bedrooms. The beds were v comfortable, and the master bedroom has an ensuite with a nice corner bath. The kitchen is well-equipped. Our grandson particularly liked the 'library', of which he made extensive use. The staff were v helpful - Guntha (sp?) especially. Initially we had booked carhire, but we cancelled as the buses are so good. We tried several different beaches - we were last in Guernsey c35 years ago, and this time, clambering down to Moulin Huet beach made me feel my age. All the others were fine, though. My favourite was Petit Bot. There's a big Coop less than 10 mins walk away from the cottages. On the first night we ate nearby at Les Douvres (best to reserve a table - gets v busy) and on the last night we had takeaway pizzas from there. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ellingham Cottages and if we go back to Guernsey, which we well might, we will first try to book in again at the Cottages.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed and considered response of your stay with us. I am sure that it is going to be really helpful for future guests, especially your thoughts on the buses, favourite beaches (and the uphill climb after!) and noting that Les Douvres can get very busy in the summer months. It would be our pleasure to have you stay with us again!

We spent a week at Ellingham Cottages and would highly recommend them. The cottages are really well equipped, spotlessly clean and very spacious. They have a nice modern bathroom and kitchen with spacious bedrooms with lovely comfortable beds. Perfectly located to explore the island with bus stops on the doorstep and a number of shops and restaurants all within walking distance. We will definitely return when visiting Guernsey.

We were welcomed by Anthony when we arrived early and weee pleasantly surprised to hear that our cottage was ready and we could go in immediately! We found some gorgeous food win the kitchen and had lunch with Guernsey cheese and tomatoes. The cottage was absolutely spotlessly clean and v comfortable. I had booked a two bedroom cottage- number 12- so we had plenty of room. The midweek clean and change of towels was useful. We discovered the coop about 6 minutes away which had a brilliant range of food and I bought yummy croissants every morning. We loved exploring the island by bus and we’re happy to come back to the cottage after a busy day and eat in with a glass of wine. I met Fiona on the day we checked out and she was v helpful about leaving our luggage for the morning. We had a lovely holiday and I cannot recommend the cottages enough!

For those seeking a self-catering hub for a stay on Guernsey, you can't go wrong with Ellingham Cottages. We've stayed with them twice now and both times we've had everything we need. A few gifted essentials such as milk and butter were awaiting our arrival, while beds and amenities were all clean and working. Location is perfect, tucked down a quiet lane, but with easy access to the main road and the local shops.

we had a lovely week first time on Guernsey helped by beautiful weather. there is not a huge choice of good quality accomodation and i reckon Ellingham is about the best and good value relatively. cottage was well equipped, clean and everything worked. there are a range of cottages set together with large garden and it has a nice vibe. Owners are friendly and helpful. it is fairly close to airport but then small island so everywhere is. it is hardly heathrow and no night flights so not really an issue unless ultra sensitive. the south coast is beautiful with charming beaches and excellent cliff walks. beaches are close enough to walk to if fairly fit..steep going up and down. check out beach kiosk at Saints Bay. we chose to go without car which was fine, buses are reliable but taxis need booking so its not like uber. think we might hire a car next time to see more of island more easily.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed review, which I am sure will be very helpful to other potential guests wanting to find out more. We are so pleased that you had a lovely week and that you enjoyed the south coast and the cliff walks. Good advice re transport as well - the buses are great but taxis are definitely more tricky to get hold of at the current time. Wishing you all the best for a lovely rest of summer. Thank you , Fiona

We stayed in a beautifully equipped and furnished cottage, although we were only 2 there was plenty of space and equipment for 4. The cottage was well-prepared for us and ready even though we were a little early. The complex is very well equipped for all with a well-stocked library of books, DVDs, games etc including items suitable for children. There was also a large playing field. Fiona and her staff were very welcoming and helpful. The cottages are very close to well-stocked supermarkets, bakery etc. The cottages are ideally placed for exploring the island by foot as the coastal path is only a matter of minutes away and the famous Guernsey bus service has a stop close by providing services into town and to the western end of the island. There is an hourly bus service into town taking a scenic route that stops almost outside the front door. A true haven of peace and tranquillity and made our week in Guernsey so very enjoyable.
