Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice Hotel, comfortable, quiet and a good breakfast with plenty to choose from. We had the evening meal on one of our nights and that was good too. Friendly staff who were very helpful would definitely stay again.

I found the quality of my stay exceptional! My room was excellent with a great view. Although only for one night, dinner was superb and breakfast had an amazing choice, from a full 'GUERNSEY ' to eggs Royal! Plus a great choice of buffet items. All the staff were totally lovely and as a solo traveller I was made very welcome. I will definitely return, perfect location, perfect hotel!

Thank you for a lovely overnight stay. We were unable to stay in our otherwise booked accommodation due to poor weather, so this was a real blessing for us. The welcome, comfortable room and delicious breakfast were an unexpected addition to our holiday.

Great hotel with friendly staff. I had a single room (number 14!) which was snug but had everything I needed plus the most fabulous view of Herm! Breakfast menu had great choices; lovely grounds for a stroll; plenty of parking and can recommend this hotel.

Excellent place to stay, reasonably close to town centre. Loads of parking which other hotels at a similar distance dont have. Pleasant ground and gardens, good for walking round. Our room was the Suite, which suited our needs perfectly. Lounge, bedroom and bathroom and a great view of the town and harbour. The rooms are not huge but were comfortable, well furnished and clean. It was very quiet and we were not troubled by noise either from other guests or events being held there We had the DBB option. The food was excellent, as is often the case on Guernsey. The staff were attentive and efficient., and we were helped with booking taxis and one or two attractions where advanced booking was advisable. Yes, the Christian heritage of the place is still in evidence and Christian groups still hold small retreats and meetings here. But that fits in very well with its use as a hotel. It didn't bother us in any way, if it bothers you then go somewhere else. We only stayed a week in Guernsey and covered the majority of what the island has to offer so it's unlikely that we will go again. But Les Cotils met our requirements perfectly for this trip.

Very good stay, place very clean. Helpful and friendly staff. Only on minor grievance and that was the room was cold and there was no individual controls for rooms. On the whole a pleasant stay and would be very happy to go back.

I have been many times to Les Cotils playing chess in inter-island matches. The staff are always great. The location is good for town. It has beautifully kept grounds. Some rooms boast sea views!!

I promised eveyone at Hotel Cotils I would write a review, here I am. A very simple hotel much in keeping with Guernsey. Simple might be wrong. Beautiful gardens. Excellent food. Very helpful staff. A Victorian large room with high ceiling. Bathroom just what it should be. Very reasonably priced when we went. Colleen was super impressed. Totally relaxing.
