Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unfortunately after many good experiences in this hotel we had a bad experience… We’ve booked by mistake a SPA afternoon tea with some friends and few minutes after we realised that we booked for the wrong day and immediately we called the reception to move our booking and been tell us that there wasn’t any availability for the day we choose even if on their website was showing the availability. After we spoke with 5 different managers ( none of them had a clue of what to do ) we had to call the customer service and ask for a refund which it will take about 10 days 😱… very disappointed! I’ve been working in this business for years and I will suggest you to employee professional staff (that understand what they doing) since they didn’t even apologize to us ! Very disappointed! ☹️🙁

Dear Alessia, Thank you for returning to St Pierre Park and for taking your time to share your review. Of course I am disappointed to read about your experience this time and have investigated the matter with the team here. We all work hard to ensure that all of our guests have a thoroughly enjoyable experiences with us, so I am sorry that in your case we fell short of our usual standards and it took a number of attempts to resolve the booking error. The confusion regarding availability was specifically around the times requested for your party rather than availability on the day overall. We are working on making the specific appointment times live on the website. I am pleased to read that the refund has been processed, unfortunately this is a standard processing time with card providers. We look forward to welcoming you bac to St Pierre soon! With best wishes, Elizabeth

Very poor experience at this hotel. Did not feel at all valued as a customer and we found them to have really poor customer service and very unsympathetic to issues affecting our booking which were beyond our control. Would not use the hotel or chain again !

Dear Flucy D, Having exchanged emails with you personally and kindly offered a date change between now and the end of the year, on your non-transferable booking, I am disappointed to read your comments. On the day of your booking itself you informed our Reception manager that you would not be arriving and wanted a refund or transfer. The rate selected when the booking was made states "booking on this rate cannot be changed, transferred or refunded at any time". Despite our agreement, we offered a date change to you until the end of the year. As such we have been very reasonable, sympathetic and trying to find a solution. I am still waiting for any dates from you. In future, I strongly suggested you select a transferable rate when booking with a hotel, this will give you flexibility to avoid this kind of situation. Travel insurance can also cover many circumstances that are beyond our control. Regards Elizabeth

We came back for our third visit to this lovely hotel, it never disappoints. We love staying here the staff are lovely, as is the food, the breakfast choice is vast and the choice for lunch or dinner in the Terrace bar is good too. You can’t beat having a glass of the local gin whilst sitting outside looking at the lake! The room we had was superb, the bed is so comfortable and the housekeeping staff keep the rooms very clean. The grounds are beautiful to walk round or just to sit in and the hotel may be situated a bit out of town but it’s not a disadvantage even if you don’t have a car. There’s a supermarket right opposite and has a bus stop just up the road for the 41/42 bus to take you into town or up to Vazon bay and is 10-15 minutes drive from the airport. Highly recommend getting a puffin pass for the bus and download the app buses.gg so easy to get around using the buses. I hope that the staff get the recognition for the service they give as it’s what helps to make your stay special. I would like to mention Briggette on reception, Patricia and Nuola (apologies if I spelt her name wrong) and all of the lovely restaurant staff along with the bar staff for the fabulous attention to detail ,the friendly attitude wish all hotels had staff like yours! This is the only hotel we have visited more than once and will still come back again.

I booked a last minute, bank holiday Monday, back massage with Sophie, she’s still quite new to the Spa here in Guernsey, but I would highly recommend her, as a regular customer of massages, she’s very good & certainly worked her magic! I’ll have to book for next year !!

We had a generally very relaxing stay in this hotel. Our two garden view double/twin rooms were very nice if a little dated (for example the tired sliding wardrobe doors or the fridge that is standalone not built in). For the first few days we thought there were no power points by the bed (disappointing) but then my son pointed out that he had discovered a USB point hidden on the underside of the bed side lights (worth knowing). NB the garden view from one of our rooms was partially (40%) obscured by the roof line. The breakfast team were very attentive. My breakfast was prepared gluten free by the kitchen and was safe. My family all ate from the well stocked buffet. When my wife commented that there was no continental breakfast the staff explained that this is not put out in the buffet as this causes waste, instead it’s available from the kitchen on request (worth knowing). We are at various lovely restaurants around the island as we had our car with us (recommend the Copenhagen Grill, The Farmhouse Hotel. Don’t recommend 19 bar and grill for gluten free, but the rest of the family enjoyed their pizzas). We also had one dinner in the hotel, which was excellent. Very attentive staff and lovely food - highly recommend the half lobster!) The biggest disappointment of our stay (which left my 14 year old daughter upset, feeling as though she had spoiled it by being too young)) was the very limited times for “children’s swimming). The Booking.com app clearly says that children are welcome in the pool - they aren’t. Pool access times for children are very strictly limited to only 8.30-10am and 3-5pm. “Children” are defined as under 16!! So my very sensible 14 year old lane swimmer was unable to swim with us as adults, The spa staff wanted to allow her in, but are clearly terrified by the gym members. The rule should perhaps be lane swimming only during adult hours - but that won’t help you if you have kids so be aware. NB she was also excluded from the hot tub (again 16+ only, even if accompanied by an adult ). Free apples, water on tap (not bottles), mints, & postcards for sale. are all available from the reception area. Getting around the hotel in my electric wheelchair was generally very easy but worth noting that there are steps on to the decked seating area overlooking the gardens. Also from the pool to the decked hot tub area. NB disappointingly for an island the hotel do not lend or hire any beach towels. (Bring your own!) Other than these issues it would have been a Five Star review.
