Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Having read some of the reviews over the past year, it made me reassess my review. Warmly welcomed. Room at back was quiet and yes there was an extractor from the kitchen which wasn’t noisy, not on all night but you would smell the cooking albeit not strongly. Yes people did talk loudly when returning to their rooms but that is not the fault of the hotel just a lack of consideration by some guests. Road noise? Not aware as the speed limit and narrow roads keeps down the speeders. Room was very comfortable and towel rail constantly hot but was soon turned off after we mentioned it. Breakfast superb. Staff especially Hannah, Nico and Alex great. Prices very reasonable in bar and restaurant while food quality is great. It is a 20 minute slow walk into the main town-no problem with footpaths or traffic. Would we return again? Yes and without hesitation

Brilliant hotel. Staff polite and helpful. Room was big enough and bed was super comfy and with balcony overlooking garden. Breakfast is from a set menu as is evening meal The steak and ale pie is recommended. Bar prices reasonable. Close enough to walk into St Peters Port. Bus stop right outside 41 or 42 will take you to terminus or a trip round North of island. Flat rate of £1.50 no matter distance. CASH NO ACCEPTED! Would I stay again....Yes

We stayed at Les Rocquettes for 4 nights for my 50th birthday. We have stayed in many 4/5 star hotels before and can honestly say they didn't come close to matching the quality of this little gem of a place! Our balcony room over looking the garden was huge, clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The decor and facilities at the hotel were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much to ask. Especially in the Oak restaurant and bar where we met some truly amazing people: Chris, Thabang, both Susannas, Melvin, both restaurant managers, just to mention a few, made us feel so welcome and served us some FABULOUS food and drinks from Breakfast to dinner! On my special day, every member of staff we came across wished me a happy birthday and I was made a big fuss of at breakfast which was very lovely!!! Overall, les Rocquettes was the perfect getaway hotel for us which allowed us to relax in a comfortable setting and explore the beautiful Guernsey. Thank you so much for looking after us, we shall be recommending les Rocquettes to all our Family and friends and we hope to come and see you soon.

Overall I enjoyed my recent stay but found a couple of points at the hotel frustrating. I found the bedroom stifling hot, pretty much due to the towel rail in the bathroom which couldn’t be turned down. My main problem was with one of the staff members at breakfast on my last morning. We had previously asked for a latte instead of coffee at breakfast which had not been a problem. On the last morning we again asked for a latte, but this time was told that we would be billed separately for this as it wasn’t included, I responded that we had not had this issue any other morning and hadn’t been charged and was told that they would bill us for the previous day if that was the case! Not very professional in my opinion and all staff should be consistent with what is and what isn’t included. Enjoyed my stay but the last morning left a sour taste in my mouth.

V comfortable hotel with good facilities, lovely food with many choices, approachable friendly staff and a well-appointed spacious bedroom. Happy to recommend. Have not given a 5 as we were a bit disappointed with Guernsey itself, which was not as scenic as we hoped. However, once there this hotel was very good.

Clean. Smart. Quality fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable bed in good size room. excellent bathroom and shower. Beautiful gardens. Friendly manager and staff- nothing was too much trouble. The menu was thoughtful and food excellent. Breakfast menu was particularly extensive Should be more than a three star. small suggestion - some seats outside main door for those waiting for courtesy bus

I’m lying in bed trying to get to sleep but the road noise makes it impossible. It is a very busy road. Also people are chatting loudly outside which does not help. The hotel is lovely and good value, the spa is fab nice and clean. Staff are welcoming. Breakfast very good. Walk into town is crazy as pavement is none existent in places and is very dark. You do need a torch. There is nothing they can do re the road but they should encourage people to sit inside after ten at night, to keep volume low. We won’t return it’s just too noisy.

We were allocated a standard double room. The window was just above a major extractor assembly serving the kitchen. We are light sleepers and couldn’t tolerate the fan noise. On asking to change the room the initial response from reception was, “We are fully booked”, and then, “The extractor is turned off at 10pm” . Not helpful. Eventually, the manager found another room - still close to a different extractor, but a quieter one. We were not offered help to move our cases to the new room, despite several stairs. One of the electricians working in a corridor assisted us when he saw us struggling. We dined as a group in the private area. The service was very slow. Every day (we stayed for 3 nights) we had to ask for menus, drinks etc at breakfast and dinner because they weren’t proffered. We shall not be staying at Les Rocquettes again. It is too far from St Peter Port to walk in along the very busy and hilly road (but there is a bus). However, for those who are more tolerant of noise from machinery and traffic, we should admit that the newer rooms with balconies look nice and the pool is a good size.

Lovely hotel with great food and facilities including pool but let down by bedroom which needed updating. The twin divans had very worn and shabby bases and there were folded over toppers to conceal poor quality mattresses. I felt like I was continually sliding off it so sleep was poor.
