Just returned home from a long weekend at the new luxury lodges. The accommodation is amazing and the views are just spectacular. The lodges have everything you need including a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The beds are the comfiest I’ve stayed in. We have been on many lodge holidays and staying here comes out on top. We went for peace and quiet as we have worked throughout lock down due to being key workers but you can use the entertainment and facilities at landscove down the road if you want too. We loved it so much we booked again while we were there for next year. See you all soon!

After getting upgraded from a two bed chalet to a Platinum Lodge, we had a great week away, so much room and luxury and so quiet. We would consider a lodge again but the cost would have to be considered in the overall budget for a holiday.
No food outlets, restaurants or bar on site, so it’s self catering, kitchen is fully stocked with a washing machine, dishwasher and Tasimo machine. Plenty or restaurants in Brixham to tempt any palate.

Hi, have been to Riviera bay dozens of times over the years, always been a great park, I go again in September, first time since the refurbishment. Am looking forward to the new tranquility it now offers, as we get older it will be nice just to hop in bed and fall asleep without some "clubhouse " drunk falling along the windows and doors. The beach there is fantastic, a great pity some local entrepreneurs haven't put a chair lift up and down to it for the older clientele.....food for thought! Look forward to seeing you all in September (16th), have a great season x

Hi Pjw34 Thank you for your 5* review. It is so pleasing to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us at Riviera Bay and that you will be back with us in September. Its also good to hear you have stayed with us many times before and appreciate that we are now such a quiet and relaxing park. Very different from the past. As you say the beach is fantastic if a little challenging to get down there. We look forward to your visit in September. Thank you again

We arrived as a family of four to the most stunning location, beautiful sea views even from the lodges set further back from the coast. The ground were well kept and the lodges looked clean from the outside.
However, we went in with our two children, one of whom is at the age of crawling and putting everything she finds on the floor in her mouth, and the floors were filthy. Clearly hadn't been hoovered or mopped. Our white socks were soon black!
After driving all day to get there, the first thing we had to do was hoover the whole lodge before unpacking.
The bathrooms weren't up to scratch either. There were hairs in the shower and on the floor, along with dust and other debris.
The sink had crusty toothpaste I assume in it.
The shower screen was water spattered (not wiped) implying it'd just been rinsed out, hence the lingering hairs.
The toilet roll holder and towel rail were thick with dust (long term build up).
Back in the living room, all 6 dining chairs were material covered and all were stained and dirty.
The sofa had a crusty mark on it that we couldn't get off.
The outside decking table was smeared so that also needed cleaning before use.
We literally had to clean everything before it could be used.
We were told to arrive two hours later that usual due to extensive cleaning procedures so we were really shocked to see such poor standards.
I've since complained to the park who are not willing to compensate us in any was as we didn't speak to them whilst there (although someone claimed they called and spoke to me during our stay which I can assure you DID NOT happen), also we were told reception was closed it was all self check in and out due to covid so there was no one to speak to, when we did ring the contact number on the form in our lodge it went to answer phone.
Needless to say we didn't want anyone in our lodge during our stay due to covid anyway so we didn't want them to come back in and do another poor cleaning job.
Since speak to them after our trip, I asked what the 'extensive cleaning procedures' are and I've been told it was to clean the high touch areas. To me, toilet roll holders, towel rails, tables, showers, etc are all high touch areas so I'm still left confused as to what took two extra hours, especially as hoovering/mopping was skipped.
Really disappointed as we paid for luxury and it wasn't cheap. Our long awaited holiday was spoilt by the lack of hygiene and it's such a shame because the park itself is so beautiful.

Hi Jodie B Thank you for your review. I am sorry that Riviera Bay disappointed you on this occasion, but as I have discussed with you it is very difficult to respond to a complaint when we haven't had the opportunity to see the problem and rectify it or move you to a different accommodation.. Reception at our sister park Landscove are open during the day and the park warden takes over after they close every evening for guests to contact. I hope in the future you find a holiday park that better suits you.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Riviera Bay and my only regret is that we didn’t book for longer. Our lodge, 44, was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and had an amazing view of the sea. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and so much space including an area which I could only describe as a small dressing room. The bedding was so comfortable and warm and we slept so well. We could use the facilities at the neighbouring site which was described as a 5 minute walk away but we only used this for breakfast and drove there as it’s certainly a bit more than a 5 minute walk. Upon arriving on our first day we walked down to the bay and because it’d rained a fair bit this was a muddy walk and steep with it so hard work but worth it. The following day we walked into Brixham which took about 25 minutes. We then used a local taxi firm to get in and out of Brixham but mainly because of the weather and not because the walk wasn’t doable. For anyone considering staying at Riviera Bay just do it as you won’t regret it. We will definitely return and would love to visit again when the weather is a little warmer.

The lodges are spacious, clean and well equipped. There is no pressure on you, you can come and go as you please. It is an ideal location, peaceful with sea views, the coastal path is nearby and yet it is only a short walk into Brixham and the harbour. There is a bus service for those who do not want to walk or drive. Paignton is only a few miles away where the steam train can be combined with a boat trip for an excellent day out. I have booked to visit again.

This is our third time staying at Riviera Bay Brixham. If you want peace and quiet this is the holiday for you, stunning views, lovely clean lodges with everything you could need for your holiday. There is a pool available at nearby Landscove a short drive away and a shop, entertainment and amusements were not very good but we did not go for that. I would recommend this site for quiet breaks.

Just returned from a stay a this park, myself, Wife and two boys stayed in lodge 74 and our friends in 73. We were all very impressed with the park and the accommodation, it was well fitted out, and spacious, and most importantly it was comfortable. Decent sofas, and mattresses meant a comfy stay with a good nights sleep. The decking furniture had decent chunky cushions too so this was very comfy. We found the accommodation exceeded our expectations, it was very clean, and we enjoyed our stay very much.

On the Thursday evening we tackled the coastal path and the steps (warning its not for the fainthearted) but well worth it when you get to the bottom, the small beach with lovely views and we saw a couple of Seals not too far from us popping their heads up every couple of minutes.

To round up, great holiday, we enjoyed a day out at Torquay, and another at Paignton, we also visited the Zoo the following day, as all three children in our group are under 6. While it wasn't the cheapest day out it was a good size Zoo, and was a fun day, although worth noting some areas were closed for Covid reasons!

Highly recommend.

Still happy to give 5 stars even though there were a couple of issues. The mattress is far too soft and I got backache after a couple of nights. There is no full length mirror (not so bad in the day but I’d have liked one when getting ready to go out at night), and because the shower hose over the bath is attached to the bar by a ring, it limits the movement which is irritating. However, the lodge was immaculate, the site very well maintained and extremely quiet , and the views are stunning. We only met one member of staff, Karen, and she was very pleasant and kindly sorted out our WiFi problem .

We recently stayed in a superb lodge at Riviera Bay for 7 nights. The accommodation was immaculate- many thanks to the brilliant cleaners. We felt very safe. It could have been totally contactless as there is a key safe for entry into the lodge BUT we needed help to access the WiFi! This was cheerfully given by reception staff. We later had another problem and the lovely Night Warden sorted us out. We are 2 seniors (79 & 81) and relaxed knowing that help was at hand if needed. We could have used the facilities at Landscove but after full days out we looked forward to relaxing in our lodge . We are both football fans & really enjoyed the matches on the huge wall tv. We visited many places including Bygones at Babbacombe. After visiting Torquay we caught the ferry back to Brixham. Another day we took the Steam Train from Paignton to Kingswear (for Dartmouth) & had a 1 hour cruise on the River Dart. We used the buses which stop at the gate into Brixham & beyond & felt very safe - all wearing masks. This is our 4th Park Holiday & it won’t be our last! Glad to see more parks have been added to their group. If you haven’t been on a Park Holiday try it - you won’t regret it.
