Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hardly dare write this as everyone will go ! We've had yet another fabulous 4 nights at Northcote Manor. The welcome and care is beyond words. The food just wonderful and my allergies not the slightest problem. To dress smartly for dinner makes it extra special. The beds ,pillows and towels fabulous. All the staff are friendly and make you feel you belong ..then Simon is indescribable...full of fun and banter which we really like..... Log fires..subtle music...wonderful grounds... superb spa if you want to use it ... we can't wait to return ... Thank you all .

Stayed here with my partner recently and the hotel was fantastic. There was a member of staff on the reception desk to greet us when we checked in who was warm and inviting. We were given a tour and shown to our room which was spacious and comfortable, but had an unusual name. The scones are some of the best we’ve ever had and the service was exceptional. Emily kindly brought us everything we needed and frequently made sure we were looked after and was very friendly. We decided to have dinner in the evening while staying at the hotel and the food was exceptional. The beef was deliciously tender and well cooked and the deserts were all to die for. A bald gentlemen was polite and friendly and looked after us well, often making jokes with us and the surrounding guests. Tegan was extremely professional and made us feel very welcomed and looked after. She ensured we were looked after all night from unfolding our napkins for us to making us tea and coffee at the end of the evening. Harry was a very kind and polite gentleman who was extremely sweet, and made us feel at home. The younger staff in the hotel are fantastic and amazingly professional and hard working for their age. The managers also seem very friendly and professional. And aren’t too cold and hard with guests. Overall, our stay was fantastic and I would urge anyone passing by or looking to go away to stay in the hotel and try the food on offer. Im sure we will be back soon!

Overall enjoyed our time here. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, lovely room. Best thing was the spa, really relaxing and staff friendly and attentive. Good massage. Food also good although some issues with being seated (raised in morning and felt staff were a bit defensive). Breakfast was not the best (such as half a burnt croissant with bacon and cheese). We were quite full from the night before to breakfast wasn’t a huge problem for us. Enjoyed our time here and would come again, especially for the spa which was beautiful and had lovely views.

Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay this time. We have been before for a longer stay. We had our dog with us and it is a very dog friendly hotel with lovely grounds to take him out in. The room we had was great with plenty of space, comfortable bed and hot water. The food as always was delicious, staff friendly and helpful. We'll be back"

My husband and I have been 3-4 times now to the Northcote Manor and we love it. It is our place to go for anniversaries and Birthday treats to get away from our busy lives. We love to relax in the spa, the food is always wonderful & the staff are friendly and we always feel welcome. We are working our way through the fabulous rooms! We will be back soon.

Lovely old house, comfortable, with a nicely lived-in vibe. We stayed four nights as a surprise for my wife's birthday, having previously stayed at Christmas. As at Christmas, excellent afternoon tea, first-rate dinners, and the staff always helpful. They put together a picnic for us at short notice when we had to go out one morning too early for breakfast. There is a very personal feel here, nothing corporate about it. If one had to pick a hotel to live in, this would probably be it.

Our first trip to Northcote Manor, the grounds were beautiful and our room was perfect - we stayed in the Heron suite. The spa and staff were exceptional and provided everything we needed. The hotel & restaurant staff were also attentive and provided a great service. My partner is a vegan and they went above and beyond to make sure his needs were met. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend Northcote Manor and we hope to be back at some point in the future.

The rooms themselves are rather ‘tired’ especially the bathrooms that need a major upgrade, though retaining the history of the property must be a concern. The staff are excellent and friendly and the meals really good. It is sometimes forgotten what care is put into creating good food. The prices were reasonable but perhaps £12 for a liquor coffee was on the high side. All rooms really clean and the area beautiful. Don’t let your Sat Nav take you in the back way the lanes are narrow!

Thank you for your review, we appreciate your opinion for the bathrooms and we've been trying to upgrade them whilst keeping the rooms to still be historically appealing, but we appreciate the kind words on the service and food. We hope to welcome you back again for another stay in the future hopefully, your sat nav takes you up the drive this time :))
