Denbury is just over 9 miles from the Dartmoor Lodge Hotel, about half of which will be on narrow country lanes. It should take about 20 minutes, but here in Devon you always have to account for the tractor factor, especially now as the harvest is in full swing. It's no fun getting stuck behind a combine, or even worse meeting one head-on in the lanes! You can get to Channings Wood by bus from Newton Abbott if you don't fancy the drive.

This is set on it's own. Some people say it's about a mile or so into Buckfastleigh but I'd say thats a pretty long mile !!! It would be a long walk about 20-30 mins to reach town centre at a leisurely stroll however there is a really good, modern garage yards away which sell food etc rather ike a mini market. A bus stop outside the lodge and it's very central for getting onto the moors if you have a car . Infact it's the nearest lodge before getting onto the moors.
