We stayed here for a pre and post night stay when attending a course at the nearby Ashburton Cookery School (1.5 miles) The staff were welcoming, even showing us to the room. We ate in the hotel each night and the food was good, although the service was a bit slow for the starters. Good range of beer, ciders and...

Had lunch here with a friend as a convenient stopping point just off the A38. Although I live not five miles away it was the first time I had visited and I am in no hurry to revisit There is a very extensive menu and food is available all day. I am not sure they have enough staff to live...

Stayed here overnight on 17th Feb, my husband was doing a morning course at Ashburton Cookery School on the 18th. Staff were all very efficient, friendly and welcoming. Food was good - we had the carvery followed by lemon mousse for dinner, and buffet breakfast. Our room (312) had a king-size bed which was very comfortable and far more pillows...

Since our last visit the restaurant had been refurbished to a good comfortable standard. All the staff were friendly and efficient. We were a party of 8 and all, except one, ordered the carvery. We did not have to wait long before we were told to join the fairly short queue as the other main meal was almost ready to...

Wonderful Sunday carvery: food excellent, with good choice of meats and an amazing selection of vegetables. We loved their coffee too! Refurbished dining rooms superb, and service could not be faulted. We are regular diners but the eating experience was better than ever yesterday!

It was a last minute decision to get away for a night. We fancied going to Dartmoor and chose The Dartmoor Lodge. We had a great deal for dinner, bed and breakfast and it was worth every penny! Having arrived at 1400 it was our intention to go for a walk on Dartmoor. However, the charm of the log fire...

We held a 50th birthday party last night at Dartmoor Lodge. The newly refurbished Haytor Function Room is smart and perfectly suited to a private party. We had a live band - The New Heroes (highly recommend), buffet, photo booth and our own bar. The room is smart, the buffet was a good mix of hot and cold finger food...

Four of us stayed for a weekend break. Comfortable rooms and the food in the restaurant was really good with a wide selection. Staff throughout were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. For a weekend break a real gem.

We needed a coffee and stopped at Dartmoor Lodge with fairly low expectations. It turned out to be a real find, very comfortable, very friendly, 4 local real ales, We'll be making the same trip several times and will stop there every time.

Met some friends here for lunch. Friendly, welcoming staff and extensive menu. Food was delicious especially the chips! We all had something different to eat and the chef was very obliging when one of our friends not sure if she would like the sauce asked for it to be served separately.
