As boys with bikes we couldn't have asked for more. We were told we could store the bikes securely if required. Fantastic location with very easy access to main roads. Beautiful countryside with challenging terrain for cyclists. The breakfast was spot on, lots and lots of choice and the fact one could start the day with a large bowl of fresh fruit was a win! It is worth mentioning that COVID secure measures were appropriately enforced, a good thing obviously. COVID did not detract from our stay, we were perfectly happy and comfortable throughout. Thanks for having us!
We stayed here for one night in a family room with our toddler. The guesthouse was very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, we really enjoyed it. The owners have taken a responsible approach to Covid-19 prevention, we felt comfortable and well looked-after. Thank you, we would happily stay again.
We only stayed here 1 night and chose it from reviews of the places available in Ashburton. Kate and Nathan couldn’t have been more helpful. The room was comfortable and the style was in keeping with an older property. By that I mean it hadn’t been extensively modernised and lost its character. Breakfast was really good with a wide choice . The surroundings were good as they had a large garden to wander about together with easy parking. Some reviewers have moaned about the proximity of the A38 nearby, but we didn’t hear it. It all depends what you’re used to I guess. We ate at the Dartmoor Lodge about a 5 minute walk and would recommend having a meal there instead of Ashburton centre , worth looking around the town though which has a slightly alternative feel to it, being a cross between Stroud and Glastonbury (apologies to all those who haven’t been to either). We would definitely stay here again but for longer. Buckfast Abbey is well worth visiting while you’re here.…
Our five night stay exceeded our expectations. Kate and Nathan were such welcoming hosts, from the minute we arrived to the time that we departed. They engage so well with their guests, have a personable and friendly nature and they made our stay extremely enjoyable and relaxing. The guest house is extremely well appointed, in a beautiful settling and very handily situated, just off the A38, making a fine base for exploring Devon. Covid measures were very thorough and adhered to by proprietors and guests. We would not hesitate to revisit and it is very highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay and for the memories.
Gages Mill is in the perfect location to explore both Dartmoor and the South Devon coast. The house has a lovely spacious garden and is situated just a 20min walk or 4 min drive out of Ashburton. Kate and Nathan are wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped and we had a fabulous view. Each day stated with Kate's wonderful breakfast cooked to order. Perfect
