Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hosts Clare and Colin are truly exceptional. Clare went well above and beyond to look after my needs such as when I asked about the nearest laundrettes in the area, she actually offered to do my laundry. Knowing that I am vegan, she ensured to stock up with vegan products such as oat milk thus making my stay extremely well looked after and comfortable. Room and private lavatory are amazingly clean and comfortable, let alone a breathtaking view from the room and dining room. Imagine breakfast with a breathtaking view of Dartmoor. And the breakfast was simply beyond gorgeous with plenty of choices and options. Clare even treated me with vegan treats. I slept exceptionally well and rested comfortably. When my travel dates had to change, Clare kindly accommodated based on availability. 10/10 A* all round 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Caveats: Minimum stay is 2 nights and once booked, there is a no refund policy in terms of cancellations so ensure to plan your travels with certainty. It will certainly be well worth it.

Booked a 2-night stay here to attend a wedding and was very impressed. High quality room and breakfast, as well as plenty of tea and cake being offered on arrival. The hosts were very accommodating and were even willing to drive me to the town centre to save me some time.

This has to be one of the very best bed and breakfast accommodations in the SW of England. Our host, Clare, was extremely welcoming and very helpful indeed. The room was spotlessly clean, airy with a very generous king sized bed on freshly laundered sheets. Bath towels provided were replaced throughout our 3-day stay. The en-suite shower was very capable. Fresh chilled milk was made available immediately outside of our room. The full English breakfast will sate the largest of appetites! Located a mile or so up in the hills from Chagford this is indeed a gem of a B&B set in rolling countryside. Very peaceful indeed away from all traffic. Great walks straight from the front door which Clare was very pleased to show us. We highly recommend you stay here - you will not be disappointed! Clare is just a perfect host the overwhelmingly positive reviews here are absolutely justified.

This is a wonderful bed and breakfast in a beautiful setting. Our hosts, Clare and Colin are great. Nothing was too much trouble for Clare. We were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary and were so pleased that we discovered Hollyberry Barn. Homemade cake and coffee was much appreciated after a long drive. We had a lovely room with moorland views and a very efficient shower. The breakfast was so yummy, super choices, gorgeous fresh fruit and jams. A shame we could only stay for a couple of days. Hope to visit again when next in Devon.

We chose this hotel for a stopover en route to Cornwall. The room was compact but well furnished with a good shower. An excellent home cooked breakfast was served and our host had booked a meal for us in an excellent local inn for the previous evening. The sat nav gave up once we reached Chagford but the village is small enough for this not to be a major problem in daylight but potentially difficult at night.

My partner, 1 year old daughter and I stayed for two nights when we were in Dartmoor for a wedding. I cannot recommend this place enough, the room was ideal, had everything we needed and nicely furnished. The breakfast was exceptional, just the right size and delicious - Clare even entertained our daughter in the kitchen to give us a chance to eat our breakfasts! The location was stunning, and the hosts very kind and made us feel incredibly welcome.

From the moment we arrived and were shown to our room, we knew that attention to detail was a big part of the owners’ way of doing things. When we were then offered tea and cake in the garden we knew this was the place for us! Our room was stunning and decorated beautifully and despite being part of the home, felt very much like ‘our space’. We had an incredible breakfast the following morning and literally from start to finish we had the impression that nothing was too much trouble for our brilliant hosts Colin and Clare. This is a fantastic place to stay and is in an incredible location, so without hesitation we would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful, countryside retreat for a quiet, relaxing stay.

High praise to Clare and Colin for their lovely B&B. We were passing through so only stayed for one night but would definitely return. The room was comfortable with good amenities and the breakfast was very good. The location is a short drive to Chagford with its pubs and restaurants. Thanks Clare for the recommendation of the Chagford Inn, food and ambience was excellent. Would highly recommend Hollyberrys to other travellers.
