My 9 year old daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Anchor Inn. We had a warm welcome, beautifully clean and modern room which was very tastefully decorated. We booked an early table at the restaurant for our evening meal which had a super kids menu. In the morning there was a great breakfast spread of cereals and...

Stylish room with lovely en suite. Rather small and thin walls but good enough for a couple of nights. The main attraction is the restaurant. The best "pub food" I've ever had. Worth staying just for that! Local beer was great too. My only gripe is that breakfast is not served until 8am, so a little late for business travellers.

We spent five nights at this country inn in mid June. It is a little bit off the beaten track in a valley but well worth a visit. We had a really comfortable room with good facilities. Above all else the food here is excellent. We had three dinners and each one was beautifully cooked and presented. The salt and...

Was going to book Holiday Inn Plymouth, but they told me I had to book 2 nights. I'm glad they did that because I ended up at the Anchor Inn Ugborough. What a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, the evening meal was delicious with a good choice of meat fish and vegetarian options. The bedroom was small...

The most impressive thing about the Anchor was the delicious food.We really couldn't fault our meal or service and that included at the bar and the breakfast we had in the morning. However, one reason for not giving a 5 is because I felt the room was not clean enough and the shower was an over-the- bath type which seemed...

We stayed for the weekend to attend a wedding in the local area. I can't fault it. The staff were friendly (they phoned me to check we were coming as were stuck in traffic). The bedroom was lovely - nice décor, beams, comfy bed, clean and with good facilities(Only complaint is that it was really warm and the window didn't...

I have now stayed at the Anchor 4 times as I am in the area on business regularly. The rooms are superb and utterly spotless. Beautifully appointed, great beds, quirky shower rooms and most recently I stayed in room 1 which is much larger than the others and would be called a "suite" anywhere else. The restaurant is excellent. Daz...

Stayed at the Anchor Inn for 1 night over bank holiday and it was great. Well priced and great local food. The hotel :pub is dog friendly and the little lodges surrounding the car park are perfect to let the dog out in the night :) The bar area is small and quiet, very cosy feeling, lots of owners with...

Stayed here for the 2nd time and stayed in room 5. Room is modern and bed and pillows are so comfortable. Shower was very good and just what I need in the morning. Had breakfast and evening meal and I can honestly say this was off the highest quality. I would of happily paid £50 for my food in the...
