Margaret and Michael under difficult restrictions still provide a wonderful welcome , their warmth and genuine interest in making our stay perfect shines through , nothing is too much trouble . Both bedrooms are warm and cosy, lots of hot water from their own Spring, full of atmosphere in their wonderful historic Farmhouse which they are rightly so proud of. They have the greatest local knowledge , also fascinating tales and memories of their famous predecessors and of this lovely ancient Farm. Short walk to a great pub. We were sorry to leave but felt we had made new friends and will return

This was the perfect stopping place for my Two Moors Way walk. Margret was the perfect host and did everything she could to make me feel at home. It was not easy with the COVID restrictions, but I felt safe and cared for!! The room was perfect and the bed comfortable. The shower/bathroom was spotlessly clean. It was really good to see how Margret had made every effort to maintain social distancing to protect me and her. She made everything easy and there was nothing I lacked for. I was able to make a packed lunch for my walk which was great. The local knowledge and history in this family location was amazing..... I will be back!!

The host Margaret is one of the nicest people you could meet, I was greeted on arrival with a cheery smile and a cup of tea, which was heaven after the trip I had just endured. Breakfast the following morning was wonderful, with plenty of choice as well as tea and coffee and fruit juices. I had a great room with en-suite shower, and a restful sleep. The peace and quite was really appreciated at this time of uncertainty and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to recharge the batteries. I certainly will be back as soon as it is possible.

From the moment you reach Higher Venton Farm in the beautiful Widecombe valley, you are enveloped in peace, tranquility and warmth. Margaret and Michael are wonderful, welcoming hosts who make you feel at home immediately. The farmhouse is spotlessly clean and so cosy. All Covid precautions are in place without spoiling the lovely atmosphere. The breakfast is delicious and plentiful and sets us up for walking on the moor. Thank you Margaret, Michael and Helen for a wonderful holiday and we will be back again soon.

Greeted by Michael and Margaret who were both very welcoming. We had such a nice time at Higher Venton Farm, the historic long house was really clean and very comfortable and a top notch breakfast was enjoyed! Thank you Margaret and Michael for making our stay most enjoyable, we really enjoyed chatting to you and all your farm yard four legged friends.
