Having slightly miscalculated how long it would take to cycle from Totnes with two kids, we arrived after lunch had finished. This could have been solved had it been less than half an hour! The staff were more than helpful. As the shop is now in the pub, the staff let us buy sandwiches and pasties and eat them with...

our room was lovely, the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. if Brigitte ever closes this facility with shop/post office running in tandem with the pub , this village will die. no sign of doggies, beautiful views, excellent food and we were made to feel very welcome.

We visited the Red Lion Inn last week when we were staying in Dittisham, very welcoming it was by the locals and the bar staff. It's also got a shop and a Post Office which is very handy! Enjoyed the time we spent in there, the views from the seating area outside at just lovely. We didn't eat, but the...

Have visited the Red Lion many times for drinks only, so cannot comment on the accommodation or food. However the staff are very pleasant and helpful and this has to be one of the best community pubs. The Red Lion is not only a pub, but a post office and a local village store (which has absolutely everything!) Staff are...

We were made most welcome and enjoyed our stay so much we booked again for Jan 2013 and are taking our friends with us. Our room was spacious and had a wonderful view. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it! Looking forward to our return on 'Burns Night'. Good value B.B.

Contrary to some strange comments this is a real find. If you want 5 star accommodation don't choose a small village pub. Its great to have fresh veg, a post office and a shop all within a pub with stunning views over the Dart. The room we stayed in (no 2) was spacious, warm, clean with a down duvet and...

The first visit was a last minute booking and the second time we visited we were a little more organised- but on both occasions- we were very well welcomed, despite requesting extra early breakfast- getting taxis very early in the morning. We had a very good meal in the pub one night. And for the location (v close to Dartmouth)...

This hotel has so much unfulfilled potential. The views are exceptional and the location is wonderful, unfortunately the hotel doesn't deliver in terms of customer service and is quite unwelcoming unless you happen to be white and furry with black spots! It could do with some freshening up and some new ideas

Just back from trip around devon and cornwall. Haven't been back to Dittisham in over 15 years and it hasn't changed a bit. The Red Lion is exactly what it says on the tin, it's a B & B in a little quiet pub in a tiny village with stunning views over the Dart. If you are wanting Boutique and...

The Red Lion sits in the beautiful village of Dittisham, awash with thatched cottages, beautiful birds and their inimitable birdsong and fabulous views across the lake from the shoreline. We loved it here. My sister and I visited when she came over from Oz for a 6-week stay. I'd never been to Devon before - and what a shock I...
