We found this lovely campsite on the off chance as the place we normally go to was closed due to flooding and we couldn't of been happier. We visited over the May bank holiday for 5 nights We booked over the phone as we had 3 large pitches for 11 of us, booking was easy and the lady was very helpful. When we arrived we were advised of all the amenities and told that the barrier to enter to camp site was locked at night which was quite reassuring, we all had a different code to enter and leave the site. A member of staff met us at the gate and showed us to our pitch which had electric and water was very close. The pitch itself was huge, we had a campervan with awning, a separate gazebo and there was space for another car on the pitch as well. The campsite is quite small with spaces for tents, motorhomes and their own little Shepherd huts. Showers with toilets in the room were clean, a bathroom with a bath (extra charge) is also available, washing up areas and a laundry with tumble dryers (which when we visited we needed as it did nothing but rain!). It is a very quiet site with no noise allowed after 10.30. There is a small play area which the kids loved, a little viewing area for the alpaca's and a fishing lake. There is also a woodland walk but we didn't get that far. All the staff were amazing, unfortunately one of our party forgot the pump for their tent and the lovely staff took it off and came back with it inflated!! What service! They are always around to ask questions of and nothing is too much trouble for them. Its just a short walk into Combe Martin and when we were there, there was a festival going on which was entertaining. The beach is small with lots of rockpools for crabbing. Combe Martin itself is quite small but has everything you need. Not far to both Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Would highly recommend this campsite and will definiately be going back.

Camping/caravan site very well run, clean showers and toilets and plenty of them. Shower cubicles also had toilet and washbasin in each, plenty of hot water. Efficient check in and friendly staff; usually someone around if we had a question. We camped by the lake, very quiet location with additional toilet block however a few minutes walk to showers and a few more to site entrance.
Easy walk into Combe Martin and 2 beaches, one of which we could take the dog on. Good access to SW coastal path if that’s your thing. Visited the Dolphin pub where the food was delicious and had a fab local cider on tap. Fish and chip shop in the village was also yummy.
All in all a great week away, would recommend it.

Not usually one to write reviews… we had such a lovely time, it really needed one.
The site is very well equipped with everything you could need and more. Although we were camping in a tent, we were able to loan a electrical hook up (£2 p/d) to charge electronics, hired a chiminea with wood (£9 p/d) - was great to sit out at night under the stars. ordered croissants for breakfast, booked a wonderful, relaxing massage on site (massage room located opposite reception) and even had a bath most days when available. All showers and toilets are within private cubicles with laundry & dishwashing facilities, with use of a fridge, all of which were cleaned regularly.
The site is very well set up for children and dogs , offering 9am tractor rides (aside on Sundays), with great enclosed separate dog and child play areas. Dog area was very steep but great to have.
The woodland walk was also a steep incline (not so easy being 7.5months pregnant) but a great adventure which we all enjoyed.
And with a dog friendly beach only 5mins walk & slightly further to the main town of Coombe Martin, it had everything we needed. We felt the site was extremely safe and more importantly all staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. Although lots of children running around having fun (incl ours) noise levels were respected.
My only small criticisms / suggestions, would be to have a mop and bucket in the bathroom for people to use after each use with a sign to kindly remind them to do so and to have bathroom cleaner and clean cloths available to rinse the bath out. All shower rooms had a water cleaner / squidgy thing to use. We used our own cleaning things for the bath which wasn’t a problem, but would have been nice for it to be available.
And to make people aware the amount of cash deposits required for item hires to be prepared as most don’t travel with cash these days (£40 deposit per hook up hire and the same for the chiminea).
Not negatives just suggestions, it was a great place, we’ll be back. Thank you.

Thanks Natalie for your great feedback. We have left various cloths and items out in the past but sadly they regularly go 'walk about' making it somewhat unsustainable.

Stayed as tourers in our motorhome. Receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful, best we ve had on any site. The site is a proper hidden nature setting. You can indulge in a massage on site ( 48 hours notice needed) and also shimanic healing session or gong bath. it has its own fishing lake, Dog field and woods. We had our 2 pups with us and the setting is great for access across the road and down a walk way path to the first beach(3minutes), Up the steps at the edge of this small dog friendly beach is another path with excellent views over the towns main beach. The town is above the beach. 10 minutes from site. Shower blocks are very private ( separate rooms) and theres a bath room if you prefer a soak in the bath. There's no clubsite so no drunks going past your pitch. Nice and relaxing. There's a viewing field to see the alpacas too. Highly reccomend this site if you want a nice quiet getaway with east access to Combe Martin. 10 minutes from Ilfracombe on the bus. You will need a torch if you are heading back to site late as it is a nature site so not lit up very well.

We camped here for 5 nights, 3 families in 2 tents and a caravan/awning. We were all pitched together and the pitch size was more than adequate. The welcome on arriving was warm and very helpful, we were guided to our pitch and not just told where to go. I cannot fault the site or the experience we had. It’s in a super location with good views, the lake is lovely and the facilities for washing, showering etc very good and very clean although the showers were a bit weak. But it’s a campsite! Included was a laundrette, microwave oven and even a bath at an extra charge. All really good. Handy for the beach at Combe Martin, most of which is dog-free so very nice plus the village itself which has good pubs and a butcher selling possibly the best pasties we’ve ever eaten. We will return.

Visited this site for the main part of our touring holiday. The site is set in a beautiful valley leading to combe Martin, a lovely little village with plenty of cafes and dog friendly pubs and eating places. About a 10 minutes drive to Illfracombe if you want the experience of amusements etc. The site itself is well kept, staff are really friendly and helpful. We had a fully serviced pitch which was huge, plenty of space for the car, caravan and awning on the hard standing, but also a decent sized grass area. Showers are the best we've seen, a full "bathroom" with shower wash basin and toilet in each one. There is a dog field which is quite steep but works wonders for tiring out the pups if they need it. Some lovely walks around the area and a five minute walk down to the dog beach. The beach is pebbles and when the tide is out it reveals lots of rocky formations with rock pools ideal for crabbing. We loved it here and will deffinatley be back.

The pitches are very generously sized and the location is just a few minutes safe walk (no country lanes without a path) into Combe Martin. Peaceful site so long as you don't mind animal and bird noises which we didn't. Saw a kingfisher and heron and heard an owl which was nice. I like the individual private unisex facilities which were kept clean but the shower pressure is low and one day my shower was very cool - there is no temperature control, just on and off. Our pitch was well positioned for the amenities but for some would be a bit of a trek. The woodland walk is very steep so not for the less able and the dog walk field is a good size but right next to a field of sheep with only a small wire fence in between so was unable to exercise our dog there as he found the sheep far too exciting! The main Combe Martin beach is not dog friendly during main summer months but there is a smaller beach where they are allowed a short walk from the site. Staff are friendly and helpful, I do feel the charges are quite steep but they seem to have got more expensive everywhere.

Great, friendly, customer service. Spotless facilties with shower rooms including toilet, basin and shower in one so plenty of space. Safe dog walking field as well as a meadow walk and woodland walk and fishing lake. Just a few minutes walk into Combe Martin, the beach and bus stop. We were warmly welcomed in the pubs and shops and most places were dog friendly. We will definitely return.

This campsite gets better and better . Since I last stayed here only a few years ago water and electric hookups are available on every pitch even for a tiny tent. The pitch sizes are extreamly generous and the shower block is excellent like private showerooms .The kitchen and laundry facilities are very good too. Dogs we had 3 with us are very welcome with a lovely woodland walk on site and the dog friendly Newberry beach only yards away. We had a great time and will definatly be back.

A very Friendly welcome on arrival Pitches are of good size, we had a premium one with electric, light a picnic table and water tap. I’d recommend doing this if you can.. The site is well laid out and we were not overlooked by other campers. All pitches are in the sunshine for most of the day. Despite it being incredibly hot the day we arrived…the grass is still green. I was anticipating a dust bowl and was pleasantly surprised. Obviously Combe Martin has had a bit of rain. Easy walk down to the village..and beach. Camp shop has a few basic’s. There is a good Co Op in village…but a long walk! The showers and toilets are simply…BRILLIANT! And the bath that’s available is well worth it. Check out the information regarding the water heating system they use. It’s very eco friendly. In short…Newberry Valley show haw campsites can be done! Loved our stay.
