The Crown Hotel is exceptional. Staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you, the room was immaculate with everything you need, a very comfortable bed, tea, making facilities and a lovely hot shower. We stayed on a winters day and it was great to return to the hotel that was so warm and cosy with the fires all lit. The breakfast was delicious. we had dinner in the hotel which was exceptional with a good choice on the menu. I would highly recommend the Crown Hotel and will definitely be returning.

You soon realise this is very much a family business - relaxed and at the same time very professional. Pleasant room, comfy lounge, good steak and good vegan dinner in the bar and an excellent breakfast that arrived quickly with limitless coffee. It's altogether good old-fashioned hotel keeping at its best. Looking forward to visiting again.

Last night I had one of the best main courses I’ve had for years and we’ve lived in France for 6. It was Pan fried lamb rump with additions, gorgeous, the only problem is I can’t have it again for the first time. The Crown Inn is a very friendly warm traditional pub/restaurant in the middle of Exmoor and we have stayed there quite a number of times.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here as a couple. Really good, fresh food and very tasty. We enjoyed mains and desserts and both were excellent. Service was friendly and prompt and there was a pleasant, busy atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.

Another lovely stay. We stayed at the crown last year and returned last week . The hotel is very comfortable and we were offered a room on the first floor with less stairs as I have a painful knee which made climbing stairs difficult. The room was lovely, the staff and the owners were as helpful and charming as before and the breakfasts were fabulous. We will return and recommend it to others .

Popped in here for a few drinks by the log burner on a cold wet night….turned into a bit more than a few as it was such a lovely place. Friendly Barman, good beer and a good selection of spirits. The menu looked good although we did not eat there, there were a number of reserved tables. Exford is a lovely quite middle of nowhere village and the Crown suited the location!

We stayed for 3 nights in room 7. Large room with comfy king bed and also 2 USB charging points in the base of the bedside lamps. The bathroom was larger than normal and had a tub and over head shower, which was probably the most powerful I have experienced. Whilst this room was at the front of the hotel traffic noise was not bad. The staff were very friendly and the bar had a good selection of drinks also with real ales. Breakfast was excellent. Good value and would stay again.

Bar staff were friendly and helpful, but the food was disappointing. Fish and chips, the fish was of a set size and shape. If you want fish and chips, go to a fish and chip shop. The beef pie was excellent but had a small portion of bubble and squeak and instant gravy ( not red wine gravy as advertised). Expensive and not worth £ 48.85 (without drinks).

Stayed here for a couple of nights as a base for walking. Breakfast very good, with a selection of cooked plates including veggie and a super food option. Evening meals also excellent. Lovely to sit outside in the sun and watch the world go by. Plenty of locals in the pub too. Comfy bed.

Well worth the horrendous journey we had getting there. Richard served us well with excellent food. Great pub in beautiful location. Lovely pictures/sculptures for sale on the walls. Warm fire and friendly locals. Will definitely revisit.
