I stayed here for a few nights in mid December with my husband and pup. It was just perfect in terms of the Exmoor location, easy to find, plenty of car parking space, friendly staff, delicious food (including vegetarian options), wine and beers, a comfortable bed, powerful heating, good shower, tea and coffee facilities in room, good wifi, prompt and...

Set in the centre of Exmoor with the advantage of being in a small village. There is a local shop a couple of doors down from the hotel where we were able to purchase sandwiches for our packed lunch and another pub within walking distance if you want a change of scene in the evening. The hotel is comfortable and...

We had an evening meal here after a good day's walking. Nice atmosphere , good service and very tasty food. We'll be back. A proper menu...not reheats from a freezer! The belly pork was particularly well cooked and the side accompaniments were great.

We've just had another great stay at The Crown, having not been there for a number of years. It still has the same family-run feel to it. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff. We stayed in Room 5, which is large and overlooks the village green. But it is the bathroom that makes it - it is...

Ate here twice whilst staying in Exford for a short break. Good choice of food for the gluten free diner. Not the cheapest pub to dine in, but good value for money as the food was excellent. Well placed for local travel, walks etc . Excellent hotel, very pleasant atmosphere and well looked after. In particular the standard of food in the restaurant would take a lot of beating, and for anyone wanting gluten free meals their was a very wide choice. To sum up, a first class weekend break, and a highly recommended hotel.
