We enjoyed a two-day break in the heart of Exmoor at the White Horse. The room was comfortable and warm with good facilities in the bathroom and decent wifi. Plenty of information was provided about walking and driving routes on Exmoor: the village of Exford is ideally central. The food was too good, our good intentions to not over-eat were not kept!

This was 2 nights for my Birthday and it was a very festive break the countryside is gorgeous at this time of year and although cold the hotel was fabulous. Very clean and comfy bed, very clean bathroom with shower. Excellent food.

Went into this with two residents of the home I work at and to say this place was accommodating is an understatement, stayed for food and drink which was also very delicious so if you are after a beautiful setting and a warm comfortable restaurant!! This is the place to go!

Set in a small village in the heart of Exmoor, this charming family run Inn is ideally situated to explore the moors. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very comfortable. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The food in the bar is extremely good with plenty of choice.

We have eaten here numerous times because we just love Exford! This pub is such a beautiful building and with some tweaks, it could be amazing. We have been for a carvery which was good but not excellent. The meat is delicious and the stuffing is AMAZING!! However, the veg was very basic - boiled and not seasoned. The Yorkshire’s were possibly frozen? The potatoes also under seasoned and not very crispy. The gravy should be more rich and thick. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The decor really needs updating and should reflect the beautiful building and location.

Everyones tastes differ and as we are sure you can see from other reviews, our Carvery is very popular and appreciated by many who regularly travel great distances to return every week. As hard as we try we cannot please everyone all of the time but rest assured we do try. Great location and excellent carvery at a reasonable price. The beef was the best I’ve had on a carvery (the other choice was pork on the day). I could have just eaten the stuffing, it was delicious. Not heaps of variety of veg but the ones that were available were cooked to perfection (I believe that this is a better option). Great surroundings, friendly staff, not over crowded. Would definitely recommend
