Always a pleasure to stay at the old rectory, as ever what is not to like. Huw and Sam plus the rest of the staff make a visit relaxing and enjoyable. A lovely spot, good food and comfortable rooms how can it not be a joy to stay.

Highly recommend this hotel - so different from all the others. Hue & Sam are excellent hosts and the whole place has an air of friendliness & cosiness. The rooms and décor and beautiful, the food is simply lovely. Service, food, location = tops.

Lovely small hotel on outskirts of Exmoor. Pristinely clean, good facilities. Good home cooked food with plenty of choices. Restfull places to sit & read. Hosts Sam & Huw are great & nothing seems too much trouble. Hotel is approached by long narrow lane & turn in through gates is fairly tight so don't bring your large cars! Quite isolated...

For the benefit of other people reading your review, we would confirm that the approach to the hotel is along a two way country road off the main A39...
