Had to moved from first suite because of no heating to a better one on second floor with a sea view and the garden, the hotel gave us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience of having to move. 0n the down side the swimming pool and spa Bath we're freezing to cold to use, and on one day the spa Bath was closed, I think the boiler was on the blink. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our time in our 5 night stay. Without argument the property requires a serious investment of capital if it is to remain a viable hospitality concern. I understand the property on the market. What was also clear is The Devoncourt has a community presence, as we witnessed many locals either meeting or using the leisure facilities. What made The Devoncourt work during our stay in our view is the staff. We did not meet one staff member who did not help us in some way. It is clear staff multi task around the property, enriching their skill set and giving a better understanding how to help customers. The leisure facilities were fine for our purpose. The outdoor pool is a picture setting. The grounds are evidently well tended to by the grounds staff. The bar staff were very friendly. Connor and James in particular made for good company and service. The food was good overall. Breakfast offerings absolutely fine with friendly team. Bar meals were also good, as was the afternoon tea. Our 2nd floor 2 bedroom apartment was fine. Everything worked and was clean. The view from our room across the gardens to the sea was great. Staff of mention in particular in our stay that we interacted directly with the most were Miah and Charlotte on Reception, and Connor and James on the bar. Plus the breakfast team. Thank you once again for caring for us. And of course the weather helped.…

We came here for afternoon tea and the food was delicious, especially the warm homemade scones, which was served with plenty of clotted cream and jam. Tasty freshly made sandwiches and a good selection of cakes. The service from our waiter Dave was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for him. A very pleasant afternoon, with fabulous views of the sea, we’ll definitely come back and would recommend anyone to come for afternoons tea here,

Hotel was very clean, staff were very nice, we will return great location, views and gardens. We were lucky with the weather so took the walk from the garden into town which was very pleasant. We have sent a video to our friends.

Its such a shame as so dated, pink and green bathrooms, with carpet for bath paneling. If the owners spent money on it, it would be a goldmine. The staff are efficient ad friendly, swimming pool nice too.
