Twin room on the ground floor (v.good for people with mobility issues) at rear overlooking car park and local park beyond, spacious with a very clean bathroom and toiletries, flat screen tv. freeview channels. Checked in and went to room only to find a problem with the heating; no heat. Spoke to reception staff who quickly provided a room heater; but still on the cold side. Went for dinner in a very large old styled banqueting hall; a little cold. The food was wholesome and warming; most residents went for the warm soup! The...

Room 119, filthy net curtains, very dusty lampshades, peeling paintwork, mouldy bathroom ceiling, dirty mastic, old faulty shower, thermastatic control not working, scauled my back and neck. Dining Room, nice chandeliers, polite friendly staff, breakfast fine. Evening meal Friday no rib eye steak available. Staff policy to cram everyone together in a corner when there was plenty of tables in...

Dear Gail, Thank you your feedback both on here and by way of a letter. Let me respond to a few of the comments you have made. Once the hotel was made aware of your problem with the thermostatic value the room was taken off and checked. The shower requires the customer to bleed both the hot and cold in...

We booked to stay here last minute on route to Cornwall. It was our first visit to exmouth. The hotel is situated right on the esplanade as advertised with ample parking in lovely well kept grounds. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was facing the sea with a balcony, very clean although a little tired and...

Just returned from a short self drive, half board break at this lovely hotel. Throughly enjoyed all our meals served in the beautiful dining room. Staff all pleasant and polite, nothing too much trouble. Hotel very clean. Had a lovely large room and paying extra for a sea view was definitely worth the money. Had bar meals midday which were...

Great holiday shared with friends Pam and Bryan. Shearings really pushed the boat out many thanks also to all the staff for making our stay extremely enjoyable. The location is ideal for walkers and wheel-chair users, easy access to the sea front, park and town shops

My Wife and I fancied a long week-end break and having already stayed at a couple of other Coast and Country Hotels in the recent past decided to give their Hotel in Exmouth (The Imperial) the benefit of our custom. It was excellent and very, very good value for money. We went half board and only had the one (for...

We stayed for two nights because we had been let down by another hotel. Wow what a good decision. Newly refurbished pleasant staff we were so happy. Our room 203 was a double bedded corner room. It was so pleasant, spotlessly clean room with double aspect windows and a modern bathroom with bath and efficient shower. The hospitality was well...

We have been here before probably about three or four years ago and as I remember the rooms were somewhat tired. Not so now Coast and Country have done a great job modernising whilst managing to retain the more clasic features. Even the lift seemed new albeit there was a somewhat bizarre route involving lift then up some stairs and...

Nice 4 day break in Exmouth. Hotel was typical Shearings but obviously quite recently renovated. Staff were excellent as was the food. great location for walks and decent town centre to shop in. Exeter with its big name shops is a short train journey and at £4.60 return its not worth driving
