Camped in location with great views of sunset Field was mostly sloping so was glad it was not too busy 400 metre walk to facilities Bring your 20p pieces for the showers Expensive, relative to other sites Fridge & freezer available Average welcome from owners. There was an undertone, but couldn't be specific One night was enough
On arrival we had the pleasure of meeting Nikki one rude obnoxious woman who only wanted cash or a money transfer straight into her personal bank, no customer service skills or likability factor about her at all, was very heavy on the sell sell sell for grossly overpriced wine bread and milk in her campsite shop. The campsite is in a lovely location but that’s as far as it goes, the showers cost you 40p a day for 4 mins the washing up also cost in between 20p-40p, there is not adequate lighting guiding you to the toilets and shower block at night (2x£1solar lights) and no lighting at all from the bottom field up the field roughly 1000 stepS, they are so mean on the electricity that they only put 10 amp fuses in the junction boxes ( most campsites are 16A ) so every 5 minutes it trips, when spoken to them about it they moan that it’s because people use fan heaters, do they not have the sense to realize that people would not go camping if they sat shivering in the evening 🤦🏻♀️ but of course this is all about money to them not customer service. The toilet blocks were only cleaned once a day which isn’t enough in the middle of a viral pandemic and to my standards the soap dispensers had mold and dirt all round them as did the shower heads. In a nutshell lovely location not good facilities for the amount of people the site accommodates and very rude money grabbing owners, would not recommend Karageen to my worst enemy would now go to the one up the road!! As usual their reply will probably be one of sarcasm and defensiveness as this couple are never wrong!!!…
This is pretty much a perfect campsite. Spotlessly clean, outstanding facilities, run by really nice people and in a great situation from which to explore this lovely area. Can’t wait to return in 2021.
Ok, so we haven't actually left yet, tonight is our last night of a 9 night stay.. and I wish we'd booked for longer but all holidays must come to an end. we first visited Karrageen about 11 years ago and as Phil said when we booked in last week we must have got lost since then! 😂 I cannot recommend Karrageen high enough, the site is fabulous and has put everything in place regarding Covid19, just remember to use the abacus system especially on your way out of the ablusions!! The food vendors are well placed on individual nights and a welcome addition, the shop is very well stocked... The cloudy bay was delicious... 10pm is lights out and the site goes quiet... Thank you... Will try not to leave it so long again..
Fantastic campsite was reluctant to go away but felt extremely safe with all the extra Covid measures in place. The facilities were spotless,Great views, great location and with the added food vendors perfect. 👌
