We stayed here for 5 days/4 nights. We hadn't stayed here before but this property came highly recommended from our Friends who are frequent visitors. They were not wrong. The welcome was very friendly and they helped us with parking as the car park is a little tight for long vehicles but OK. We were advised of their Covid policy, must wear masks whilst walking inside the property to your room and to breakfast, always sanitise your hands, very clear where you can do this. All very reassuring I must say.

We were shown to our Room which was Room 4, very comfortable indeed, the bed was huge they had even put in a small fridge for water and fresh milk. Large bathroom with large shower, everything you could need for your stay. They asked us every day if we needed our room cleaned which we didn't, they always made sure we had enough water and milk. The service was exceptional. Breakfast had lots of choices and the Traditional English Breakfast was huge. Plenty of tea/coffee/juices and cereals, all food served to our table.

Potters Moorings is in the centre of the village right next door to the London Inn Pub, no issue with being next door the pub. Overlooking the village green. The main noise was from the local seagulls which really didn't bother us at all.

It is approx 5 minutes walk from the Beach, where you can get the Ferry across to Teignmouth.

There is a small supermarket, fish and chips, post office within 5 minutes walking distance too. There are some great little gift shops too.

Thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful. We would have no hesitation in returning or highly recommending Potters Moorings.

We’ve just returned from a 2 night break in Potters Moorings’ Smuggler’s Cottage with our 3 dogs. Linda was just as bright and bubbly in person as she was on the phone.

We had self contained accommodation within the B&B, even our own access to the alley that was just 50m from the beach and to our car.

The cottage is upside down and was warm and cosy throughout. The place is spotless and there’s everything you need for your stay. The bed in particular was sooooo comfy and all the towels and linen were soft and snuggly and pristine white.

We could’ve had breakfast in the dining room in the main hotel but having been given the option to have it delivered to our door, did so on both mornings. What a treat! Piping hot, absolutely delicious and no washing up. It was brilliant to have Eggs Florentine available, my absolute favourite. Hubby raved about his full English, too.

The location is overlooking the bowling green and a few seconds from the estuary and the ferry over to Teignmouth. Shaldon is beautiful with pretty painted cottages and narrow streets and we can also recommend the pub, The London Inn, which is handily next door.

We had amazing weather and we were looked after magnificently. The dogs got plenty of fuss, too.

It was a perfect stay. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed in Kings Room 1 for 3 nights (just before lock down was lifted). The room is self contained with it's own entrance to the side of the main B n B building. It was extremely clean and comfortable and we felt very Covid secure.
Nothing was too much trouble for the lovely owners and breakfast was 5 star (delivered to our door on a tray) with plenty of choice. There is also a little courtyard for sitting in when weather allows.
The pub next door was ideally located and although they had a large party there, eating outdoors (due to Covid restrictions), on the Friday evening we couldn't hear anything from within our room.
Only a few step away from the river, sea, beach and local amenities including shops and fish and chip shop Potters Mooring Hotel is in an ideal situation. The onsite parking is also great as local parking was quite busy and spaces few and far between.
Thank you both for making our few days most enjoyable we would definitely recommend and hope to visit again in the near future

We have stayed at Potters Mooring many times and it never disappoints. From a warm, friendly welcome, superbly clean premises, impeccable pandemic measures, perfect location and Robert's superb brekky Potters Mooring is our go to for seaside breaks in Devon. It shouldn't need saying, but Potters is located on the coast, and with its enviable location come seagulls, so whilst I would say the accommodation is very quiet, nothing can be done about our friends, the seagulls (take earplugs if you think this might trouble you). Always sad to leave and happy to return.

Had to leave a review for Linda and Rob, who rescued us after the heating and hot water failed at a rental property we had booked for the weekend.

Rob came to the property and helped try to fix the boiler, meanwhile, Linda prepared their room at Potters Mooring, as they were fully booked, so we could stay there with our one month old baby and have somewhere warm and comfortable to stay for the night.

In the morning we returned to the property we were supposed to, packed our belongings and chose to continue the rest of our stay at Potters Mooring.

We were made to feel so welcome and our room was wonderfully cozy and comfortable. The shower was amazing and we had fresh milk and chilled water in the rooms fridge.

Breakfast was delicious and Linda even cuddled our baby whilst we ate breakfast, so we could eat a hot meal together.

We honestly can not thanks Linda and Rob enough for their amazing kindness and hospitality.

We will definitely be staying again when we next visit family.

Thank you so very much! xXx

We booked this guest house after reading other reviews and bearing in mind the location. We were not disappointed on either.
The hosts were most welcoming and friendly, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our room was on the first floor at the front of the house. The only drawback with this is that there is a busy pub right next door, which at times gets a little noisy. The biggest noise came from the seagulls which were nesting on the adjacent buildings. However a good set of earplugs sorted that out.
Our room was very comfortable with a walk in shower. The bed was large and very comfy.
Tea and coffee facilities are provided and a small fridge, which unfortunately didn’t get very cold, even though we adjusted it.
There was a large choice of items for breakfast and was cooked to perfection. I can honestly say it was the hottest breakfast I’ve ever had.
Parking in front of the house is available but it’s fair to say it’s quite tight. My car was getting splattered from the seagulls but the wonderful host was kind enough to provide me with a dust sheet.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if visiting the area.
A tip if you are planning to stay here, do your research on the local restaurants and pubs and book early, they get fully booked very quickly.
A word of warning, the road outside the guesthouse is very narrow and can be quite challenging when another car approaches from the opposite direction.

From first setting eyes on potters mooring from outside the building with the lovely green and houses on view i became very excited. The greeting on arrival was so warm and friendly and immediately felt very welcome,. The first thing that hit me was how spotless everywhere was and so homely feeling. I was shown up to my room which was immaculate and was filled with lots of extras and fresh milk inside the fridge. My partner arrived not long after me and linda the owner came and assisted with her parking, always a smile on her face. later i met robert her husband and found him to be a very charming man. this has to be the most welcoming and perfect place that i have ever stayed at. The breakfasts each day were fabulous and always very hot when served. Next door is a lovely pub, the london inn, great landlord called tim and his staff were very welcoming also, excellent food and a wide range of excellent gins and ales. The potters mooring will live long in the memory, we will definately return and could not reccomend a stay there anymore. Thank you Robert linda and your amazing staff. until the next time,, Stephen and Gemma.

Stayed at Potters Mooring recently and I was really impressed by the whole experience. We were a little worried about staying away from home during Covid 19 but the procedures they had in place made us feel very safe and the place was spotlessly clean. They are also very upbeat and friendly. Would highly recommend a stay here.

What a wonderful hotel. Very good covid arrangements including the option of breakfast in our room. We were greeted very well by Bob who explained everything and went the trouble of finding out the local bus times and leaving a note for us on our bedroom door. Never got the chance to thank him. Our room was comfortable and clean with a sea view which was a bonus. Breakfasts were spot on. Well recommended.
